Batch Plotting, Publishing, or Printing Multiple Drawings in AutoCAD.

  • This video demonstrates how you can easily print multiple documents at a time in AutoCAD. This is a must know if you are printing many drawings as printing them one by one takes a long time.
    Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to change etc..
    This will work for all Autodesk AutoCAD programs from about 2009 to 2014.

    At work we have to change printer a fair bit so without saving the page setup I could pretty much never use batch plotting. Cheers, for showing a way to save page setup and use in batch plot.

    Helpful Tip: You can set "Page Setup" for individual sheets in the "Publish" dialogue window BEFORE saving the sheet list. This comes in handy if your desired sheet list requires plotting to different sizes.

    Hey! Hope you'll see this comment.
    I always use Publish feature since is very useful especially with large multi layout files, but I'm actually having a trouble to publish with different Lineweight as I do with normal single Plot. After finish to publish, all the lines in the final multi PDF appear at the same thickness. I'm looking for a solution around the web but couldn't find any solution. That is so frustrating!
    Please let me know if there's actually a way to publish different line weights and how can I do it!
    THANKS A LOT IN ADVANCE!

    Hello I followed all these steps and everything works except, for some reason at the very end after I created a page setup, I would select all my drawings and I would try to change the page setup to testlist 1 but DefaultNone and Import are still my only options. Does anyone know if there is a way I could correct this? Thank you

    question: I have all my drawings in on file but what to use publish so I can plot them in order quickly, will publish work for this? also I'm having problems with assigning plot settings in page setup. I set a plot parameter to the sheet list but it plots with a different plotting ?

    Hi. Sorry for question, but can you help me how can I print some DWG Files from a path list fast? Nearby a cmd prompt commad, or other. I wouldn't like open them in DWG TrueView, just print.

    • @PITREDESIGN
      @PITREDESIGN  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a list of drawings that are in a folder you have to open the publish dialog box. In autocad 2013 just above the sheet list you'll find a button that says add sheets. From here you just select the dwg's that you want to print and it will add them to the list. You also have to make sure your print settings are correct.. it shows you how to do that in the video.

    Hi I'd adjust my drawing on center of paper sheet but it end up not accurately plotted. What should I do?

    • @PITREDESIGN
      @PITREDESIGN  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, when you open up the plot window there should be a a section that says what to plot. Select "window" and then select everything you want to be printed. Under plot scale in the plot window, select "fit to page".. this should work. You can always select preview to see what it looks like. (this is in autoCAD 2013 btw)

    I am having issues with Batch publishing, I am getting any error that states the PMP folder is missing, then internal error creating custom paper and unable to create requested media size. I have a default set with my CBT file and paper size. I have batched published before, this is the first time this is occurring. Any advice?

    • @PITREDESIGN

      Jackie Norcini I havn't come across this before, but have you changed computers recently? Changed any printing settings? Are you on windows? Or updated autoCAD? A google search might help too.

    Why doesn't the template i created appear in the "page setup" drop down menu?

    • @jeffgustafson4309
      @jeffgustafson4309 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Nick Santorso You have to select it in the drop down of the file that you made your print setup in because the setup is stored in that file, it's not in a file of its own.

    • @psymander

    • @georgeleong1572

      The answer to Nick Santorso's question. After PITREDESIGN set up his "testlist1" and clicked cancel out of the page setup pop up box, at 4.00 on the video, you need to save the drawing. PITREDESIGN forgot to mention that part. Now the template will appear in the drop down menu.

    it only print single drawing from single layout, it does not print multiple drawing from same layout. why????

    • @PITREDESIGN
      @PITREDESIGN  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure what you mean by layout, but if you save a page setup, you should be able to use it from the drop down menu in the batch plotting window. I might be able to help more, if you're more specific about the issue.

    • @PITREDESIGN

      You mean you have multiple drawings in the same drawing file? For this to work they each have to be in a separate file.
