Glad I’m not the only person using blutack to help with waterproofing’ lol …I’m debating on getting the metal drive shafts so good shout on that front mate 👍
Trick I use racing my 1/10th buggies works well 👍🏻 I ended up back with the standard shafts in this with the metal cross pins for the ujs found the metal shafts to be quite out of balance.
I found if you grab yourself a set of axial shocks you can fit them on but would need to either screw them onto your linkages or custom make ball ends (3d print would do the trick) and they work a tone better than the ftx upgrades ones .. even just swapping out the softer springs gives them a tone of benefit as mine has a load more flex now without rolling over constantly thankfully Due to add some 4mm extension for the axles today too so I'll let you know how it goes
the best upgrade you could have done was the battery to a 2s lipo. That's the only problem is the 1s LiPo battery just worthless. That's what stops you when you hit and you can't get over. So a lot of people just give it more throttle you shouldn't have to. On my scx24 I grabbed a hobby Plus 55 turn motor that's stock for the hobby + 24 scale. I find it to have a little more power with my 88 turn Dynamite motor. But the only way you find out things is trial and error LOL all right everyone have a great day and a great crawl
@@gaz3359 LOL I was going to get the hobby Plus and throw my 2 cell lipo in it glad I didn't LMAO. I guess this just shows you not to listen to everyone LOL good Lookout thank you
The difference was night and day but when I got bound up the main gears just let go, if you could be really careful with the throttle and take care its possible it will be successful for some, mine just caught a wheel and that was it 😂 full while it lasted.
most of the guys use the original plastic shafts with the metal cross UJs.the metal 1s do av lots of play as u say.original motor is 55t,the upgrade kit is 88t.u can also get a 100t direct fit.not made for 2s battery, but lots do use them!
Great video, very useful. I have this rig, but have a problem with the steering. It is not turning as much as it should. The turning circle is double what it used to be. I’ve changed the steering servo for a new one, but it’s still the same. If I disconnect the steering bar to the servo the wheels have full movement. Any ideas please? Thanks for any help.
Thanks, all I can think off the top of my head as I've not used this for a good while is you can adjust the steering dual rate on the transmitter you need to check if its at 100% sure in the instructions it's shows you from memory. Hopefully it helps.
Also I can confirm the 2s is a nice upgrade but again .. like you said its not worth it really considering how much the rig is worth in the first place These things seem to be best just driven stock form till the electronics just die out pretty much but that's not to say you cannot upgrade then what so ever The FTX power upgrade is a massive rip off tho considering it costs nearly £50 for the kit and adds pretty much no benefit other than the servo being a little bit more responsive where as I grabbed a cheap 20amp off amazon and wltoys k989 600mah 2s lipo ... completely different car with tones of power but likely to blow out one of the diffs eventually given the power gain
I'm sure when I had my scx24 the wheels did fit this 🤔 while ago now but sure they have the same hex size but the tyre may have been a little too big and caught.
Very helpful, thank you. I'm just about to order my first ever RC thing, and found this little thingy. Now gonna see rest of your videos.
Glad it was of some use thanks 👍🏻
@@gaz3359 You are welcome. Just an hour ago picked up a delivery from local post office. One Ranger set, one Paso set. Batteries are loading...
Good luck and enjoy !
Thanks for testing out all the mods for us. 👍🏼 💸
Hi bud, great honest and frank video with your views and opinion of the Outback 2.0. Good information. 😁👌😉

Is there one with a longer wheel base ? I saw the 1/20 jc20 think it’ll look nice
Think you can get a 1/18 sized one but I'm not totally sure a little out of the loop now.
A know it's a old video but can wheels sold for the scx24 fit this crawler

do these fit on the mini x? the 1/18th one
I'm not sure couldn't say.
