I love city of Derby’s makeover and has muffin got a new whistle, what has happened to the old coaches and do muffin and zebedee run as much as they used to
Hi Josh, glad you like the new look for City of Derby! Troy our engineer and the rest of the team have worked extremely hard on it! Muffin still has the same whistle, it’s just been moved onto the dome, this allows for a ‘dry steam’ feed as opposed to the old wet steam it used to get when it was fed from the manifold... this was what made it sound very muffled and quiet. Whilst carrying out these works we also installed a new valve, meaning the whistle is now operated by a pull chain rather than a twist leaver valve. The old red and white carriages have all been rebuilt, with only one surviving which is in storage out of service. We run all four steam locomotives in alternation to even out the wear on them.
Ben Harding thank you I remember the first time I went about 10 years ago when I was 2 and I still remember the old liveries in the locos that first visit made me obsessed with steam locos
Ben Harding great update I thought you just ran locomotives as you wanted not to span the life of them. Also are you planning to get gladiator up and running again as I have always seen her on a siding. I always look out for her riding the railway. Again well done for doing this for the NHS #lappavalley #stayathome
I've been to Lappa Valley 3 times, I went in 2010, 2020 and 2021. I've been on Zebedee, Ruby, Ellie, City of Derby, Eric and APT.
Yes Finn same with me Ethan
