Thank you for sharing this! I had the pleasure of studying with Vic for a few years in college and this took me right back to how AMAZING his feel was playing duets in the practice room. He made my sorry a** sound halfway decent. :) I am so grateful to have had that time with a true master of the instrument and music.
Vic Juris, a monster among monsters! Saw him and Coryell in duet some 15 years ago... one of the most enjoyable performances I have had the pleasure to witness! RIP Vic! a true musician. Dave Stryker incredible as always!
Vic invited me and my boss Billy from The Cafe D'Angelico to come see him and Coryell at the Blue Note. We were hanging backstage with them, It was quite a night !
I remember Vic when he used to play at Gullivers club on "Guitar Night" in West Paterson,NJ when he was first starting out.He would blow everybody away,I had the good fortune to play with him about 20 times a long time ago and I am grateful to have done so.He was always so generous and tolerant of those who were not quite up to his level.I caught Dave and Vic in S.Orange and they were great together.He was the real deal!Your music will be missed.
I met and heard Dave Stryker live several times at the Aebersold clinic and at a gig a few weeks after this video. He is a force to be reckoned with, on stage and off.
Sad all these veteran guitarists put swing second to sound hip like metheny or scofield. They know better- benson Wes joe pass would’ve been better to emulate. This is weak and their tone is muddy and there is zero life force in this music.
