I’ve just been diagnosed with this issue and learned more about it in a 7 minute you tube video than I did with a 30 minute doctor consult. Thank you for putting this information out there.
To be fair TH-cam creators have time to organize their thoughts into an educational video with visual aids. Something that is much more difficult to do on the fly in the clinic or hospital.
I am 18 and was diagnosed with this last year. I am also suffering from Tuberculosis. And I know this is painful but to all the people out there suffering Jst hang it there. Good things will happen 💜

My daughter was 9 years old when diagnosed with TAK after having a heart attack. In New Zealand it's extremely rare and her doctors had no idea what was going on ( they used google!!! put in her symptoms and compared her scans then TAK came up so they contacted doctors in UK and it was confirmed through them via imaging) She had been very unwell since 5 weeks old and they now believe it's linked. She had HSP at 6 years old. She is now 24 years old and boy oh boy what a ride it's been. She pretty much spent her childhood in hospital. Even now, she spends a lot of time in hospital, she has many ongoing issues ( strokes and another heart attack ) she has 7 stents in her aorta, the last caused a tear so had to have emergency surgery.
Ohh lord I’m 27 went through same thing I’ve gone through catheter ablation for irregular heartbeat Ans and then age 26 I has massive stroke last year I was completely paralyzed and still weak on the left side my other symptoms were controlled with medications please get in touch with good rheumatology team
@@sarafarid8952 did you get diagnosed with TAK? my daughters symptoms were slow growth, extremely low weight, aching/painful joints and muscles, low grade fever for no apparent reason. Then she began having high crp without being sick with virus, higher than normal blood pressure then she had a heart attack at 9 years old. Her health was very poor since a baby and nobody could work out why. She is 24 years old now and made/making it through many challenges. I hope you are doing okay.
I was recently diagnosed and i had done my CT angiography showing thickening of decending aorta and right axilary arteries stenosis of almost 75% my right hand is pulse less Bp less...
Interesting! I have this disease was diagnosed this year in May! I’m thankfully not having too many severe symptoms it was caught on time! I did have a stroke though!😪
@@Shredderrr93 yeah so I’m on prednisone of course! And aspirin, vitamin d3, infusions, imuran, etc! I got lucky my stroke didn’t cause permanent damage! Since I’m young and was living semi healthy prior. The disease is agressive I get stroke like symptoms, arthritis like symptoms, joints hurt like burning, fatigue, have a pulse less arm, hard to be active, head aches, lack of blood flow to the brain and arms and neck! I manage okay since beforehand I was working out a lot, eating healthy, and still doing so! That’s the only thing you CAN do to help aside from the horrible meds that cause weight gain, anxiety, muscle loss, etc and just take Tylenol for the pain… that’s the short summary!
I learned about this years ago when I had to build an MRI protocol to evaluate a patients pulmonary artery with this.. Scanned them every year for a few years... Then not again.. hoping they moved.
I was diagnose just this month. My doctor says this is like a diabetes it's already in our body. It won't go away. It's a lifetime decease but it can be controlled via medication/maintenance.😊
