Yeah but when you compare it to the wages here the rent+bills become less affordable than you think its always nice from the outside looking in but when you actually have to live here its way worse still a heavily soviet style culture and at the end of the day it is eastern europe many people are rude and im saying that as Lithuanian who has lived in the UK.
@spottyty Who knows who you actually are but judging by your comment, you definitely are not Lithuanian. Numerous channels of similar content attract russian trolls who try to present our country in negative colours just the way you did here.
My native country, my homeland, fantastic, beautiful, inimitable Lithuania, covered with ancient legends and fairy tales, a brave and proud nation that nothing can break, a nation that speaks one of the oldest languages in the world, I love you, my homeland, I wish you to always be free.
La, la, la. your proud, great and unbroken nation from the period of its civilization from Mindaugas to 1990 was not basically ruled by Lithuanians, but mainly by Slavs. Baltic philistine show-offs.
A little bit exaggerated, but in general nice representation. Night life is livid for sure, but not every day (fridays and saturdays mostly, we like to rest/work on weekdays). It's a good country, but it has it's flaws as all others, but I would say it definitely is underrated, most of the people want to visit, France, Germany, Italy, Spain etc. Sure they have some great things to see, but I would say Lithuania has it's own charm, it has some amazing monuments, but it's mostly about history and let's call it the "Vibe". Everything just feels right (as weird as it sounds) it has plenty of art, plenty of technology, plenty of nature, just a balance of everything. We have crazy fast internet, and almost everything is digitalized, but we also have 1/3 of our country covered by forests. Old people are usually very unhappy, but young people are happy. It's weird, but balanced and it just feels great to live in our little country. You might not want to live here forever, but you sure do you want to visit.
I agree with you absolutely, it is truly underrated and overlooked but it’s a pristine environment for great vibes and amazing people! It’s a truly epic gem that all travelers should visit. Young people are genuinely always happier than the latter!
Girl on the poster is not Lithuanian. The national costume is not Lithuanian., nor Baltic in general. Apart from that and one or two here and there pictures not from Lithuania, quite decent presentation.
@5XTRAVEL in vilnius, it can go crazy. Low end ones go for around 400€ a month for 1 room apartment (cant remember for sure but i think without utillity). Now considering minimum wage is 800€, if you cook for yourself youll spend like 200-300€ on food and then your barely left with anything
What are you talking about? University education is not free. It's free for those who were good at school, but even that there are limited seats for that.
It is a bit more complicated than that. The Baltic States, Belarus, and Ukraine mark the farthest extent of Catholicism (see Uniate for the last two). Thus, it is often called Eastern Europe and Russia is not included in Europe because it never had a strong Western European influence, only Eastern European (and Asian). If you want to include Russia in Europe, then we would be Central European. Yes, there is a difference between Southern and Northern Eastern Europe (Austro-Hungarian Empire vs Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth), but people outside the region will probably not catch it. Because of the Cold War, we lacked strong ties with the Nordic countries, but that is changing.
@@aSnailCyclopsNamedSteve nothing complicated if u drop politics and focus on geography. Center of Europe is located close to Vilnius, capital of Lithuania
Actually, rents are high compared to local wages, at least according to local opinion. The cheapest we know in Vilnius is over 400 euros/month not counting utilities and the living conditions are poor, like walls so thin you can hear people simply breathing on the other side. The world happiness report places us at 19 in 2024, which I can see. We have been raising minimum wage rapidly and that is creating problems, like in finding people to prepare a delicious espresso. The labour exchange currently lists a shortage of cooks, which means you can import one with a minimum of paperwork. So, service is a bit weak at the moment. To really enjoy Lithuania, you need to learn some Lithuanian as the best tourism websites are more informative in that language. In English, the monument's name can be incorrect. For example, the First Swallows (skulptūra „Pirmosios kregždės“) statue on the grounds of the National Art Gallery is listed online as 'Woman with Birds'. To find the statue's history, you need to find the correct Lithuanian name.
Hello there, I appreciate your in-depth first hand knowledge and insight. We shall work towards correcting any further mishaps in the future video, however, you do agree that Lithuania is happier than many other nations globally, correct?
@5XTRAVEL I am open to correspondence. It is 19 out of the only 140 nations in the survey, so definitely on the happy side. I cannot talk here about the current situation, but I still consider it to be one of the best places in the world to live, if you know Lithuanian. The root of the tourism problem is that Lithuanians do not understand globalisation. So long as Lithuanians are visiting sites and income is in the black, why improve?
