    I LOVE that you kept and are, once again, bringing your Acne boots back to the cobbler. Repairing shoes is almost a lost trade. Not only are you continuing to value your beloved boots, you are helping to keep the art of shoe repair alive.

    I love this video so much! I just purchased my first ever trench coat after 2 years of contemplation (I couldn't decide if it was a fantasy self item or not). I just received it last week and have worn it 4 times already - it is amazing how easily it makes me feel put together! Looking forward to having this in my wardrobe for years to come.

    I love the point about how having a limited wardrobe helps you feel comfortable in your own skin…that is how I felt in high school…we had a uniform…and while most kids in US want to wear their own clothes to express themselves…i found the uniform helped me to do that!

    I LOVE the Mango coats. I have it in Lilac and Dusty rose. Mango it fast fashion, but the fit is just so great - and the wool is Nice. They both look brand new. The jade would look amazing on you! And with your mint suit - wow!

    I am even more inspired to look after my wardrobe staples and not constantly feeling the urge to again find that perfect thing which is already in my wardrobe! 😂😄 thank you for inspiring us!

    Love the white shirt, gray sweater and dark blazer look, it’s so classic.

    I appreciate an excellent closet essential. Those tried and true pieces that never let you down and make you feel your very best. Even better when they have been staples for YEARS. Love seeing how you update your closet while staying true to your personal style.

    Capsule wardrobe basics can be found second hand too - that's how I obtained my blazers, trench coat, and leather coat.

    You are right. Everyone’s staple would not be the same. I bought into all the classic staples like the ones for you for a long time. I have all of your staples in quality and quantity. But they weren’t me. I hate trench with a passion. I don’t care for white button downs. Blazer makes me look like lego. I do love canvas sneakers, straight 100% cotton jeans, merino wool sweater, and wool midi or maxi coat (my black maxi is 35+ years old; still can’t find one to replace it). I have to have one item that is girly or feminine in my outfit. Dress unisex or masculine is not flattering to my height and shape at all.

    I appreciate how you recognize that our prized staples are very individual choices. I don’t, for example, ever wear denim, I don’t like the fabric and I’ve never found a pair of jeans that are reasonably comfortable, but also stay up (I have very skinny hips). After 50 years of buying, trying, returning or donating hundreds of pairs of jeans, I finally decided to stop wasting so much time and money on an item that was just never going to work for me. I have a pair of better-fitting, but not especially flattering men’s 501 jeans (they lack the feminine styling like smaller, higher pockets), that I can wear if I absolutely must, like for clearing brush or something like that. But, I never do that kind or thing anyway. Stretch jeans are disastrous for me because they cling to my skinny legs and just move down and off when I walk. I just don’t have that jutting hipbone for trousers to rest on above where my legs narrow.

      I had the same story with mini skirts. Although, in theory, I like them and had probably a dozen of those that fitted me well and looked great on me, I hardly ever reached for one when choosing what to wear. Finally, I just understood that it's not my story and gave up. Instead I enjoy wearing midi skirts, which are the best for my lifestyle.
      P.S. My favourite pair of jeans appeared to be menswear😉

    Minimalism and capsule wardrobe dressing are concepts that, for me, have changed a lot in the past few years. I guess in saying this, while I can still appreciate having certain essentials within my wardrobe, I don't do "staple pieces", per say. Something like a simple black top would be considered essential for me, or how I can't go without wearing a pair of boots during the fall/winter months. I'd also consider sweaters to be an essential for me, but I don't really have a specific type of sweater in mind when referring to staples. So throughout my own style evolution at least, I have since learned to restrict myself less and adapt a more fluid and open-minded approach when it comes to how I dress myself, and I couldn't be more happy with this more balanced approach that I use when it comes to fashion! 😊

    I love that you keep taking those acme boots to the cobbler but you should be able to find a pointed toe Chelsea boot with a one or two inch heel in most places right now with the pointed toe and Chelsea boots both being a current trend sometimes trends can be helpful 🥰 im not encouraging you to spend i just know that the trends will swing back to round or square toes and if those acme boots do fall apart it might be harder when the trends change to replace them

    I love your grey herringbone blazer. I bought a very similar one from Other Stories in the UK last winter and I literally wore it every time I went out somewhere special last winter!

    The only item in my wardrobe that matches yours is the wool sweater.😂😅 Goes to show how style is such an individual thing!

    Would you recommend the wide leg jeans to someone with wider hips ?

    • @UseLess_dk
      @UseLess_dk  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I find that straight fits are quite universal for most body shapes (if you like the look), I have wider hips too and I love the style. They neutralise the wide part around my thighs and hips which I personally appreciate 😊🙏🏻

    You mentioned that you cut your leather trousers. I have a pair of faux leather trousers that I want to crop. How do I do that, just cut them? Or do they need to be hemmed properly?

    • @UseLess_dk
      @UseLess_dk  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I just cut them and that was it! They won’t fray. You might need to glue or stitch the side seam on the inside right where you cut it (so it won’t unravel), but if it’s already glued in place no need to 😊 hope that helped!

      It’s from The Slow Label (received in connection to a collaboration, just to be 100% transparent). It’s a beautiful piece!

    When purchasing 2nd hand do you stick to the same brands to have some "size security" or what do you watch for?

      Know your measurements! And bring a sewing tape measure with you while thrifting or ask for measurements while shopping on secondhand websites.

    Sorry, hope this isn’t offensive, just trying to give some helpful feedback…I know English isn’t your first language and you speak it extremely well. I just couldn’t help but notice your pronunciation of the word ‘longevity’ is just a little off. The ‘g’ is pronounced like a ‘j ‘ . Like the ‘j’ as in the would ‘jump’. I hope you can just take this as trying to help and not being critical or nit picky. ❤

      🤚🤌🏽🤌🏽🤌🏽it’s the meaning that matters - being understood. No one should be silenced or shamed into shutting up just because strict convention are not strictly followed 😔👎❌
