Oh wow, that's my childhood right there, Saturday night with the family sat round eating fish and chips in front of 321! Happy days. Sweet to see the adorable Diana Dors, she was such a wonderful lady. Very much enjoyed this, many thanks!
it seems England was pretty uniform back in the 80s because ur childhood was MINE also :) I was 5 years old when this aired.. im now 43.. but i still remember every aspect of this show.. when we finally pass off this mortal coil.. i hope we get to relive certain eras.. the 80;s will certainly be one ill revisit a lot :)
@@mackgerry Guess that was the 'seventies? We loved Starsky & Hutch too! TV was so much more exciting when there were only three channels, ironic really, lol!
The game show where you only needed to be a professor of ciphers and cryptography and have been involved in solving the Enigma Code to stand a chance of understanding the clues.
If this is the one where the gold nuggets was the prize I remember watching this one. We were taking our Christmas decorations down when it was on and we were in stitches at how shite the prize was.
I'd rather have the gold nuggets than some of the other prizes they had. For example a pair of St. Bernard dogs. That's like saying your prize is a burden of two animals that require a huge amount of care I think they also once had a prize of a years supply of whiskey. Your prize is... alcohol dependency!
I remember 3-2-1 back in the day. I could never do the thing with the fingers like the late Ted Rogers did. I think I ended up doing the offensive gestures instead. I only ever saw somebody win the Dusty Bin once. The cars in this episode are all classic cars now.
Dusty usually contained a consolation prize, like a portable tv. Ted was a great host, people tried replicating his finger trick for years after. When gameshows were fun, not like todays dross...
Now I'm older, this show reminds me of the weird European "game show" sketches on The Fast Show where nothing makes any sense and they keep launching into song. The so called clues on 3, 2, 1 weren't normal riddles, they literally made no sense and listening to Ted Rogers trying to explain them was like being on a bad trip! I loved 3, 2, 1 and watch it now if its on TV ever. 🤣
Remember watching it.... briefly! The most ludicrous quiz show ever imo. Not surprised to find out it was based on a Spanish show. The rules were impenetrable and I'm astounded how popular it was.
Where were the stars at the end, they were supposed to wave... They'd clearly all buggered off home! @ 53:11 Love how Grandpa gets up & leaves to catch his bus home, before the music starts! 🤣🤣🤣
@ 37:00 The First Prize being rejected on the start of the '81 Season of 3-2-1 with Ted Rogers, THREE NEW CARS so They Can Take One Home but if that happened in America, They've Could've won Three New Cars so they can take the whole lot home and get a Three Car Garage for the house.
When asked questions on Gameshows to that Irish couple surprised they didn't know who the host was of The Krypton Factor. Their fellow countryman Gordon Burns
It would be great to know where all the models, audience members and contestants are now. However I do know that Ted Rogers passed away, in not sure of the year though
The clues where an enigma wrapped in a puzzle surrounded by a conundrum dipped in a riddle containing a paradox. If you guessed correctly as NO ONE new the answer. Then you won a sh!t prize😂
Your clue is “you might only use it on a Sunday and clean it once a month, but once you fill it you can get miles of fun” Sunday could mean Sunday driver, fill it might be oil or even petrol and clean it you may use a bucket, sponge and soapy water….yes you’ve won Dusty Bin.
Their 'prize' was much 2 small 2 make 1 bracelet! It was a scam - the way they brcught that big case fulla valuable pieces, chaims, earrihgs etc 2 make it seem they had a very valuable prize. What bullshit! See Ted swipe it back frcm them & chuck it safe im the case, Ha! Ha!
Dusty Bin, You're busted cowboy! We'll put an end to all your cares...the prize is what the sheriff wears: a tin badge tin rhyming with bin gave him up.
CLUE 3:- THE BIG RED BOOK - (THIS IS YOUR LIFE - WILD BILL HICKOCK) THIS BOOK IS BOUND TO GIVE A CLUE TO WHAT YOU’RE GOING HOME IN SO I THINK WE’LL LEAVE IT UP TO YOU FOR I HAVE DONE MY ROMING
Watched the show once for about 15 minutes. What a complete waste of time. The 'clues' weren't even properly cryptic just random words from what I cld judge.

For me it was eating chips in front of the Dukes of Hazzard.
My Friday night treat was watching Starsky and Hutch and eating Bubble and Squeak (fried potato and vegetables).

Ted Rogers is one of my favouritre Game Show Hosts, a very nice man heart of gold and a good sense of humour
I had the pleasure of meeting Ted Rogers at a charity do a couple of years back, he was surprisingly down to earth and VERY funny!
Cool story bro....a couple of years back? Ted Rogers passed away twenty years ago.
Good story, Limmy!
My favourite Saturday evening TV game show at 7pm when I was a child.. I loved dustbin 🗑 😂😂 I had a tiny toy dustybin one year for Xmas haha x
Miss being a 4 years old as I was in 1981. Happy memories of Saturday night
I was 6 !
I was not even yet a twinkle in the eye of my then 4 year old dad.
I was 13....
I've had this on the main TV simulating Saturday nights of my childhood with my own family. They aren't very happy.
The game show where you only needed to be a professor of ciphers and cryptography and have been involved in solving the Enigma Code to stand a chance of understanding the clues.
It was a ridiculous show, with largely terrible variety acts.

Britain in the '80s.

The days before celebrity TV so much better then.
Proper Saturday night TV. After football results watch CHiPs, Russ Abbott, Punchlines, Cannon and Ball etc was fantastic

Brings back some great memories, do miss those times.
Loved that show on a saturday night
This must’ve been the most longwinded game show in history.

The English version of Un, Dos, Tres!!!
Has a Limmy fan found out about whether the couple got the diamonds or not?
Haven't seen these since they were on. I remember having a Dusty Bin money box back the!
I had a paper waste bin! It was a furry dusty bin, paper bin!😂😂 1982
was lionel blair ever young?
We all loved it, Saturday nights!!!!!❤

Love the old school shows 👍 even the music sounds great
Ted was brilliant. Difficult clues but great show

i use to watch it as a kid thinking them clues are very hard. Now im older i just think they all sound like a bin or a car lol
I really miss the old Saturday night telly. Sweet FA on in 2021 except shite.

I do hope that couple are still married. I'm gutted they didn't win the car or the holiday but they looked so excited about the gold. Wholesome stuff.
Thank you!

You're right about Cowell, that's for sure.

Phil Cool is hilarious as Eamon Andrews ( around the 34:00 mark ). Whatever happened to Phil Cool?
He's still around but retired in 2013

The leather clothes looked like ss officers, just missing the regalia but probably made by Hugo boss.
What a strange prize to win. Think I’d rather have had the bin.
The riddle setters now working on Boris's Tier system explanations.
nope. still no idea how the contestants were supposed to decipher the clues.....lol happy times.
