I keep coming back to this clip - remarkable and even more so on such a sad day that confirms the end of the line for the majestic and wonderful A380, which I'm at least able to reflect on many hours of comfortable and enjoyable flying in.
I don't really care for the plane, or Airbus in general, but that's just positively majestic. The sheer size of the thing is something to behold. Incredible sound too.
I was in my final year of my apprenticship on this date. I saw the first A380 UK visit when it flew over Broughton in 2006. That one had full Airbus livery on the tail but unlike F-WOWW, the livery didn't extend over the rear fuselage for whatever reason. A totally awesome site to see a big ass plane fly over a small runway.
Wow! Awesome! I love the way aircraft tickle my left-brain and my right-brain at the same time. Orgasmic!! I resist the temptation to start a slanging match with those of you who aren't moved by this. I see, from the comments, that there ARE a lot of people with soul enough to appreciate a great clip. The only other sound on TH-cam that gives me goosebumps like this is Freddie Mercury letting rip!!
SuperExcedrin POSSIBLE DUE TO THE FULLY EXTENDED FLAPS WHICH INCREASES THE GLIDING PERFORMANCE. AND THIS PLANE'S FLAPS ARE MUCH MORE WIDER WHICH GIVES GREATER LIFT.
@@ProToolsAvidSchool you could be right and I’m not criticising it is amazing to watch this I think it’s just the shear size of the a380 gliding in so graceful but it’s a big powerful beast too.
Yeah, its a shame its not being built anymore. My job was the lifting team who moved the wings around the factory, the last wing was MSN272 in February.
In 20 years when we all have plane-cars, I'm going to find my self an old A380 and use its engines on my plane-car, just so I can go around everywhere, revving my engine and making this noise.
I saw one of these approach JFK once, I was on the Belt going to LI it was heading in the opposite direction and was about to pass directly overhead. What a big fat glorious cow of a bird. At least I'm pretty sure it was the A380, how many 4 engined jet liners in the world are there? The 747 and the A380, and I know what I saw was bigger than a 747.
Is the airbus 380 the biggest plane made so far or is there something bigger ?i love planes like these, i go to airshows every year(almost every year) its fun to look at these amazing buties
@yocuzz100 Cool looking plane too. More sleek, but not as grand as the 747 :) And did you forget about the geared turbofan? I think Pratt is a few years ahead of Rolls.
Question of taste. I like it's look. I've turned around it in 2007 Paris Le bourget meeting, I've ssen it Flying, and it is beautiful. Vids aren't rendering it's true beauty. Plus, the A330/A340 have the most beautiful fuselage ever built.
I was working as a temp in a bank on the other side of Chester - and we were on the 6th floor of the building and we could see this aircraft coming in from 7 miles away. What a day!!! We could also see other chase helicopters (press/security??) as well although you couldn't hear or see them in this video!
is this an internal airbus testing plane? as normally they have airbus livery this is just painted white and any pre deliveries are non painted and testing pre delivery is done in the airlines color
Were are you here ? I know its at Hawden i mean like were abouts are you standing i have never seen that road that is paralel to the runway or is this inside the threshhold ?
the 747-8 has about the same range as the a-380, except is approximately 16% more efficient, so, operating costs are much lower. In addition, the price tag is about $40 million less then the A380. Currently, the 747-400 is about $60 million less than an A380. FY 2008 Deliveries: Airbus A380 = 12. Boeing 747 = 16 Boeing 747-8 scheduling pushed back. This doesn't include that the 777 deliveries just for Q1 FY 2008 was 21.
Is that it? If I had made those wings, I would have expected a bit more from those who were relying on them. Tremendous pieces of technology and all they got was one fly by. Great fly by though. Thank you for posting.
If it ain't Boeing, it better not be an outdated Tupelov Both Airbus and Boeing made amazing and beautiful birds, and huge advances in commercial aviation, I don't understand the biases people have on one of these 2 companies.
And still to this day, the A380 has not taken one life. Due to mechanical or pilot error. Truly a remarkable aircraft.
You can thank the A340 for that
I keep coming back to this clip - remarkable and even more so on such a sad day that confirms the end of the line for the majestic and wonderful A380, which I'm at least able to reflect on many hours of comfortable and enjoyable flying in.

So much thrust. The sound sends shivers down my spine, but I just love it.
Beautiful aircraft, so sad to see airlines retiring their fleet 😢
But at least British Airways & Emirates made a comeback for their a380s today.
They are coming back, don't worry.
some are returning them ;)
Ya. Including Malaysia Airlines A380😢
Exactly! I need to make sure that somehow it doesn't happen!

they arent really that heavy, theyre just sheetmetal skins with wire frames, its the size thats impressive

What a sound, what a machine. From the front or rear view those wings look very bird-like as well, ......awesome!
OMG That Scream sooo awesome!!!
Goosebumps here... A bit of adrenaline shot!

I was worried. It was making one hell of a clunking sound when it went full throttle, almost as if it was parts vibrating against one another.

the engines scream like a furious dragon or some like that.. awesome plane!
it always amazes me that tons of steel constructed into a huge bulky machine can actually fly :o
Such a pity they’ve stopped making this magnificent aircraft
It is sad and they put so much money and effort into the logistics of the A380
This is where it all started for the A380! 12 years strong!
The roar of the engines sounds good, but I would love to hear them at full power during that maneuver. Kool none-the-less!
I never thought that I would ever see in my lifetime, an airliner that physically overshadowed a 747, lol.
to think that these planes can carry 853 passengers is simply mind-blowing.
I have travelled once in the Airbus A380. We feel a heavy thing being lifted when it takes off.
A stunning airplane.
Yeah ,right. At the end all A380s will be grounded because the gas consumption, they are not building more A380s.

Huge planes flying slow, looks impossible.
It only looks like it's going slow a plane that big I'm sure needs to be going at least 150 mph to stay airborne
