The LA Dodgers Are Doing EXACTLY What The MLB Feared...

  • The Los Angeles Dodgers are a team that was highly criticized by so many people for what they did this offseason, and even though it was a bit much and really the mlb does have to do something about it, they did nothing wrong and you can't really get that mad at an owner that is willing to spend money to build a championship roster and not get mad at the cheap ones that keep their money in their pockets and watch superstars walk out the door. Anyways, the dodgers starting off the 2024 slow, but they are now really starting to heat up, shohei ohtani just hit his first walk off as a Dodger, and there is just so much to talk about with this team right now.

    The owner? They're spending Shohei's money now. He built the team by deferring all that cash, plus t-shirts, hats and jerseys? The guy is an international star, and making the Dodgers more money than anybody could have imagined. He enabled the Dodgers to avoid the extra tax the MLB puts on rich clubs. The Dodger management were smart not to waste that cash, but they spent it wisely, bringing in great talent, which is very encouraging.

    • @George-f8h
      @George-f8h 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +18

      On top of that, Shohei didn't demand interest earned on his deferred payment. The Dodgers essentially are earning interest on it, because they are required to set the money aside for future payments.

      Sorry but merch sales are distributed evenly to MLB clubs. MLB takes about 12 to 15% of sales from Fanatics and Nike then portions are send to clubs. So Royals, A's are able to receive the piece of pie. This distribution also includes international TV deals with Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Europe media using Shohei, Dodgers or any other ball clubs. Dodgers will however keep any concession sales, cable tv deal, and advertisement deals they sign. Hope this helps

He is pouring millions into their accounts just by showing up, pitching or not. He's changing the league, and making every player up their game, because if they don't, they lose. It's exciting.

I've watched every at bat this year and can tell you this - when WE WERE cooking - it was a scary offense. But the fact that a team with THIS MUCH offense can be thrown off by (in my opinion) losing a 3rd basemen for a few weeks shows massive holes.

    The thing that concerns me are the times their bats suddenly go silent and them looking like they have no energy. Even the last couple games where they won most of them (mostly barely), they too often score all of their runs in one inning. No getting the guy in from 3rd with nobody out. No sacrifice flies or even ground ball to get a runner home in that situation and especially with 1 out the vast majority of the time. Our wins in extras are very concerning in the same way per their requiring to get a hit to score. It is ridiculous that nobody bunts or chokes up in that situation and other similar ones like when facing tough pitching. At the end of the day, I want my Dodgers to win, but this constant need to come up with the big hit regardless of the situation is not the way to win most consistently and especially when the games are close.

    I’m a padres fan, and before you ask I’m also a huge LA Rams fan so I probably got this in my recommended after watching OTA news.
    Anyways the only person I don’t hate on the dodgers is Ohtani. He’s a freaking unicorn and regardless of if he’s our rival for years to come he’s still just an amazing player with so much potential.
    ….
    Every other dodger can eat it tho 😈

    FYI... the Dodgers do not get revenue from parking. Part of the agreement of the sale from Frank McCourt was while the Guggenheim Group purchased the team and the Stadium, Frank McCourt kept rights to the parking lot and the profits from parking revenue.

      City of LA, do NOT approve Frank McCourts gondola to Dodger Stadium. Increase shuttle transportation from Union Station to the stadium. It's already less than half the price of regular parking at McCourt's Dodger Stadium parking lots.

    This is the reason a salary cap needs to be put into place. Teams with all the money get the best players money can buy. It’s not a level playing field when the same big market teams cherry pick the best players from each team. Pretty sure MLB wants a Dodgers/Yankees World Series every year. Just get rid of all the teams except those two. And start a better league with the remaining 28 teams on an even playing field

  • @BigLotsResurgence

    The divisional series should be best of 7. It’s not fair to win 116 games and have a bad 3 game stretch and your season is over. Dodgers would’ve won 2 more championships if it was best of 7 the last 10 year

    Are we watching the same Dodgers? They are 0-4 -with their normal lineup- in bullpen games, their RISP game is mediocre at best, they have a horrible bullpen right now, freddie isn’t playing at HOF freddie levels.. this is an NL West champ team at best, not an NLCS contender.
