My dad gave my his less than 2 year old Chevy Avalanche, when I started university, because he had bought a new Cadillac EXT. The Avalanche stayed in the family for 16 years lol. Finally being sold by me, when I purchased a brand new 4Runner TRD Off Road. My twin sis and I used both the Avalanche and EXT for epic car camping, in the BC mountains, back before "overlanding" existed as a trend or term lol. Yeah, 2 little 4ft10" Asian girls started the overland scene 😎lmao.
I love my 4Runner A LOT and she is my forever rig and my dedicated remote overlanding/touring rig. However, for nostalgia i'm looking for either a great condition gen 2 Avalanche or EXT (whichever comes first), to modify into a solid overlander/trail toy that I would be fine taking on rougher trips. I seen a guy doing Rubicon trail in an first gen Avalanche lol. These trucks are awesome!

Hey Mark, did you install this kit? I want a 6-7.5 inch RC Lift, but they don't have them... support says they don't offer them, nor have they ever offered them. Do you know what was used on this?
Do you have any issues with it after installation? Also is there any alerts on the dash after installation?

Back wheels do not turn, so you probably do not need to cut anything in the back

SuperCamaro1719 actually a few, if it’s lifted, stabilitrack light comes on. Usually a wheel speed sensor or something else also. Other than that, great truck

@@WhatsupitsMARK That's only a start. Just wait till you've had it for a while. I just bought mine, drove it home from the dealer and the engine stopped. Had the mechanic take it apart, three bent push rods and metal chips in the clean oil. It's all because of a short in the wiring harness that threw the cam out of time and the rest is history. Now I have a new engine with a complete new wire harness. It runs great but I wouldn't say it's more comfortable riding than my 2002 Suburban. Maybe when I put 18 inch wheels on this truck it will ride better, we'll see.

I used my son's 2009 EXT to tow a 1968 Chevy Impala from Georgia to northern Illinois through the mountains and had no problem. The only time I knew I was hauling something was stopping, other than that these trucks are good for pulling a good amount of weight.

I need to know what lift kit was used on this truck. When you call rough country they have no clue what kit fits the AWD trucks. Idk how these guys are making them work.

FleenorTif it’s not the air ride that’s the issue I don’t think. You can get rid of that stuff and bypass it all with resistors. The problem I’ve found is on the AWD trucks when you drop the front diff for the lift the front driveshaft will vibrate really bad since it’s always engaged (and it’s a different style than the 4x4 front shaft.) Mines a ‘12 Sierra Denali without autoride and I can’t find any specific lift for it. This Escalade advertised for sale in the video must vibrate on the highway. If it doesn’t I gotta find out what they did.

@@teddyblissett8648 buy the AWD lift front drive shaft from rough country (part # 5083.1) and then buy any lift you want to use. I finally talked to someone that did a 7” on a 2012 like mine and it rides perfect w no vibration.
@@StraightOutaFleaBottom that part# for that drive shaft says it's for a gmc. Will it still fit on an 07 escalade? Ran into the same issue too.

There isn't a 2007 high mileage EXT worth over 9 grand. The owners think they have something but anything over 175,000 miles on most of them is living on borrowed time. Some guys I know with these 2007's have swapped out this worthless engine with it's VVT system for the older 5.3 liter that will last a half million miles with up to date oil changes.
