Yeah me too. well my sister and I are in the same spot. her return has been the same as alway. and mine, well my husband had to claim unemployment and a stimulus check that never arrived. But this lady mention all that, makes me feel a little calming now. It just sucks that they can't let us know to not expect our refund in 21 days.

You need to update your address and bank account information to irs. if you didn't receive it Wednesday when everyone received it this is what you need to do. Not only is it updated to them but if anything fraudulent has happened your bank account is updated to them too.
I am relieved that someone has gotten through to the IRS and was kind enough to pass on what she has learned. I didn't catch the presenters name, but she did a very good job of presenting what she knew to be fact and what you could determine as a result of what is NOT happening for so many people. I had one phone number that said it was having temporary difficulties and it said it for 3 days. When it finally worked, it only gave me the same information that I found on "Wheres My Refund" as a recording, and there wasn't a way to talk to a real person. I found another phone number and the recording informs you that they have so many calls, that they simply can't take yours right now, so try back again a different day. Round and round with no answers. They would be better off just telling people what the hold up is and their plan of action to resolve the problem, rather then to let people get irate.
When I got throw to someone in the irs he told me the same thing they told this lady and I told the guy after 45days people can sue the irs and irs has to pay interest on your money refund
Filed my return on February 5th, it was accepted by the IRS on Feb 12th, its now March 25th. If we owed the government money, they would be on us like flies on a rotting corpse☹
What I don’t understand is how some people who filed after I did already have theirs and some of them have the earned income tax credit and child tax credit
I heard they use the last 2 ssn to distribute the fund. All my friends ve got theirs bcos their last 2 ssn comes before mine. I’m still waiting it. It took 5 weeks to get my income tax refund. Now waiting for my stimulus

There's a delay in the tax return for people who claim the earned income credit. I don't mind because we're getting way more back this year for earned income child tax credit, however everyone should have got their stimulus last Wednesday, if not you need to update your bank account information with IRS because if you haven't filed in the last 2 years, then you have to call to update your bank account information, they cannot rely on information that's over 2 years old for your bank account information, nor rely on your mailing address to send it too if it's been over 2 years since you last filed. Any emails that claim they're from IRS to check the status of your stimulus is fraudulent, everyone got those emails, my sister fell for it and it routed her to the IRS website to check her status and she still hasn't got her stimulus, if you fell for the email scam you should probably call the IRS. The IRS will only postal mail you, they will never email, nor call you.

@@blissessentials524 they told me the same thing then they told me it’s know Error every time I get a different person on the phone to tell me something different they even told me up to 10 weeks it could take up about that much time to keep watching the mail everything that she said in this video is the truth I just went through the same thing and when you check the website it keeps saying processing and I do not have 152 topic code your best bet is to get a tax Advocate and even when I call the tax advocate Phone lines are extremely busy and it has to be 30 days in order for them to even help you so The best bet is to rely on the Lord and do a lot of praying because only God can see what’s really going on we can’t rely on man only on God that is been giving me a piece of mine so that I don’t go crazy just keep thinking about it I hope this advice helps not just you but whoever is looking at these comments

because its not solely based on when you filed, its based on your particular tax situations. For example, low income people who only filed a w-2 and dont have dependents or anything "complicated" on their returns are going to get a refund faster than someone who may be married filing jointly with many dependents and/ or self employed individuals with expenses, school info, deductions...etc....but the IRS is behind in general, so massive delays with the refund and/or stimulus are expected this year

I finally called today because I lost my bar and tt152 a week ago. The lady said she saw nothing wrong with my return, and no letters coming. Said they are really backed up and to hold tight a little longer🙏

Just hold on a bit it'll all work out. But they said if your tax return is still in errors department and doesn't show on there end the 2020 tax return they will for sure go off your 2019 tax return because data is not shown for 2020 return yet due to the errors and it being in the department to be corrected

I answer between 200-400 messages, text and calls daily about delayed returns, with taxpayers expecting us to have answers on why and when. You're golden, your insight is wonderful and I want to share this for everyone to see!
@Nasir Jones my job isn't to be harassed at 3 o'clock in the morning by people panicking about a tax return that hasn't been released by a federal or state agency I don't work for. Tax preparers don't have some secretive special portal or representative within the irs that gives them minute by minute updates on tax returns. Our jobs are to prepare the return, not process it. My company answers its phones and we do our absolute best to walk people getting their return, getting information, and working through various audits or identity verifications. Larger tax services don't offer that level of customer support without charging for your time. We do that at no charge to our customer base. I don't mind helping people, but the poster went all out obtaining information and I gave her a kudos for that.

A lot of times all the contact representatives can see are status codes and not the return itself. They MIGHT be given clue or just a status to give a timeframe for.
Everyone has been receiving that same message. They are trying to rush people off the phone. Until you receive something in the mail from the IRS saying you have an error, don’t worry too much about it.

I still haven’t received mines either and I’m not getting my stimulus check because they are so behind and I filed on the 14 of February but people who have filed after me with kids got theirs first. Why send out stimulus checks when everyone haven’t received their taxes yet.
Honestly last year I didn’t get my return until September... so I’m not holding my breath this year. I advice everyone to focus on a back up plan on that money. Get creative. Get your side hustles going. You can make a lot of money online. Because waiting for the return could break you before you get. Thank you for this video update. My Husband and I have filed joint taxes in mid February (also claiming our two children living with us.) It has been well over twenty-one days and the IRS website says our taxes are "still being processed." It's had that message for weeks now and I can't even get anyone in the phone, though they say to call if there's been no status after twenty-one days. This is OUR money so the very LEAST they could do is take our calls!!!

This happen to me , so basically your going through an audit, They go through your return with a fine comb , verifying everything. It took my almost 3 months later to receive. I received the entire refund but it took that long to receive. Blessings to you
Tax Topic 152 basically means general information about taxes. For ex. Ways you can receive your money, the time it should take to receive your taxes, amending your taxes ect. Everyone that files will see Tax Topic 152 at some point.

He told me they had an error with the automated system for the first few days now all these millions of returns that got kicked out need to be “manually signed off” and they are told to say 10 weeks but he says normally it’s 2. He expects a ddd of around 3/22 for me after reviewing my return. He said it looks like I’m at the “tail end of the process”. I read this comment in deferent website
They held them up because of the third stimulus. They don't want to tell you that but you should receive your money by the end of March depending on when you filed. Everyone who filed earlier with direct deposit should receive their money first. I hope this helps. Next week more people should start receiving their money. Some people already got their refunds.
OMG thank you for this!!! i called they told me 10 weeks but they told me it was being checked further and i was confused because 'checked' means audit like in my head but i wasnt being audited i guess the person just didnt know how to explain this!

Adjusted? Go back and double check if you missed a form, did a number get input wrong, etc. Always pay attention to IRS letter for specific year to correct. It doesn’t mean you did 2019 then the audit is for 2019. It could be 2015/16/17. One year I had to adjusted but didn’t pay attention to the year. Just thought it was previous year. It wasn’t and too late because you get a deadline. I went to that year they audit on the letter that I didn’t pay attention. Too bad too late my mistake was typing additional number instead of 0,000. I had 00,000. That additional 0 definitely is what made it wrong.
As a tax preparer, I can tell you that this is sooooo annoying and very common this year especially. I feel as time passes they get more and more delayed 😓. It's not a tax preparer thing, it's mainly an IRS thing. And yes, the returns that get filed 1st usually take longer than those who wait a bit more. Regardless of credits or not.
@@thegracetofollow4194 IRS' response is that they're "still not up to capacity and prioritizing the Stimulus monies". Apparently there's like 5k IRS employees and over 245k pending returns. They just don't have the man power.
It’s been about 8 days for me and that tax topic 152 shows I believe it always is there doesn’t matter how long it’s been just like a fine print I think what’s really going on is there just backed up and if you ever worked at a call center you would know that people be lying just to get you off the phone because they don’t know what to tell you it’s the sad truth I’ve seen it with my own eyes.
Yes! I almost want to cry knowing the same thing that's happening to me is happening to others, I have been soo stressed out waiting for this money and I can't even get ahold of anyone to talk to, this money is delaying my whole life because without it I can't get my son and I a place to live, I can't get my car, to start working etc. Wish they would at least be more responsive and let people know it's normal and that they're just behind. It was my daughter's first tax refund so she has to mail it in, it's still says it's in transit since feb 15..it got sent to austin, we're in houston....could have walked it there faster
They told me my refund would arrive within a few weeks. It didn't arrive so I called again. They told me again that it would arrive within a few weeks, and still it didn't arrive. I went through this BS four times, and I still don't have my refund.

I was told tax topic code 152 means you're getting a refund.. you're just on processing and the system haven't generated a date yet.. the folks are behind.. it has nothing to do with them looking at it.. the computers do the work.. now if you're refund has to be looked at then yea it will go to somebody's desk.. it's no way they can look at a million returns hunnie.. the system does all the work... if your return needs attention then yea it will land on somebody's desk!! And if some other stuff comes up I'm sure folks will get a letter

i finally got through.... via method... 1-english option-2 option 3-(all other) option 2-(all other) Do nothing when prompted for SS two times. Option 2, option personal tax return... have to start calling 7am EST. thank you! So here is what she told me.. The IRS is randomly putting returns into "review" which she said is like an internal audit they make sure everything looks great. She told me I am already processed and passed review and they will release the funds april 19th. I have NEVER had this happen in 30 years.. so I think what is really going on is.. they saw a huge amount of early returns and just offloaded those into the review department. I think thats why the early returns are being delayed and not the more recent filings. They had way more than the normal processing department could handle early February so they just drop-dragged huge amounts of returns to the "review department". The review department also files returns but do it at a slower pace. It would be like you get overloaded at work with paperwork so you just pawn your paperwork off to a coworker who works in a different department. The problem is, you have no way of knowing where you are in this "review que" unless you talk to a live agent. The live agent is able to tell you exactly where it is and time it's scheduled to be deposited.

Same here...no bar! The only difference is that I also no longer have topic 152 notification! Also, I tried calling and they say something about I cannot be connected at this time. This has never happened to me before, so I have no idea what they could possibly be reviewing more in-depth. So lost.
I am usually more patient, but I actually had plans. Now, I have to wait. Honestly, the REAL issue for me is the unknown. Not knowing why or when is frustrating, but if they said, "you are definitely getting your money and it will be in your account some time by June, I'd be ok with that. At least I know there are no issues with it and have some sort of time frame, you know?

The seasonals dudnt furlough after shelter in place was dropped. They've been working on 2019 since the summer. On top of the delay, one of the 3 individual processing centers is scheduled to close in Sept. Most of the employees already bounced. It's bad.
@@intuitiveoasis9153 I have friends that work at the Fresno processing center that closes Sept 30th this year. It's been scheduled for years, it's just bad timing for covid. I also know they got sent home march/April for shelter in place orders and didnt start returning until jun/jul. The call center is different and stays open, but they weren't working for part of that time either. It took a while to send them laptops and adapt to teleworking. Big ol mess. Basically thr only ones that worked were higher graded employees that already teleworked or had their own equipment to adapt because they worked in the field, like auditors/collectors.

There's a delay in the tax return for people who claim the earned income credit. I don't mind because we're getting way more back this year for earned income child tax credit, however everyone should have got their stimulus last Wednesday, if not you need to update your bank account information with IRS because if you haven't filed in the last 2 years, then you have to call to update your bank account information, they cannot rely on information that's over 2 years old for your bank account information, nor rely on your mailing address to send it too if it's been over 2 years since you last filed. Any emails that claim they're from IRS to check the status of your stimulus is fraudulent, everyone got those emails, my sister fell for it and it routed her to the IRS website to check her status and she still hasn't got her stimulus, if you fell for the email scam you should probably call the IRS. The IRS will only postal mail you, they will never email, nor call you.

@@blissessentials524 they told me the same thing then they told me it’s know Error every time I get a different person on the phone to tell me something different they even told me up to 10 weeks it could take up about that much time to keep watching the mail everything that she said in this video is the truth I just went through the same thing and when you check the website it keeps saying processing and I do not have 152 topic code your best bet is to get a tax Advocate and even when I call the tax advocate Phone lines are extremely busy and it has to be 30 days in order for them to even help you so The best bet is to rely on the Lord and do a lot of praying because only God can see what’s really going on we can’t rely on man only on God that is been giving me a piece of mine so that I don’t go crazy just keep thinking about it I hope this advice helps not just you but whoever is looking at these comments

because its not solely based on when you filed, its based on your particular tax situations. For example, low income people who only filed a w-2 and dont have dependents or anything "complicated" on their returns are going to get a refund faster than someone who may be married filing jointly with many dependents and/ or self employed individuals with expenses, school info, deductions...etc....but the IRS is behind in general, so massive delays with the refund and/or stimulus are expected this year

But they said if your tax return is still in errors department and doesn't show on there end the 2020 tax return they will for sure go off your 2019 tax return because data is not shown for 2020 return yet due to the errors and it being in the department to be corrected

I answer between 200-400 messages, text and calls daily about delayed returns, with taxpayers expecting us to have answers on why and when. @Nasir Jones my job isn't to be harassed at 3 o'clock in the morning by people panicking about a tax return that hasn't been released by a federal or state agency I don't work for. Tax preparers don't have some secretive special portal or representative within the irs that gives them minute by minute updates on tax returns. Our jobs are to prepare the return, not process it. My company answers its phones and we do our absolute best to walk people getting their return, getting information, and working through various audits or identity verifications. Larger tax services don't offer that level of customer support without charging for your time. We do that at no charge to our customer base. I don't mind helping people, but the poster went all out obtaining information and I gave her a kudos for that.

A lot of times all the contact representatives can see are status codes and not the return itself. They MIGHT be given clue or just a status to give a timeframe for.
Everyone has been receiving that same message. They are trying to rush people off the phone. Until you receive something in the mail from the IRS saying you have an error, don’t worry too much about it.

Tax Topic 152 basically means general information about taxes. For ex. Ways you can receive your money, the time it should take to receive your taxes, amending your taxes ect. Everyone that files will see Tax Topic 152 at some point.

He told me they had an error with the automated system for the first few days now all these millions of returns that got kicked out need to be “manually signed off” and they are told to say 10 weeks but he says normally it’s 2. They held them up because of the third stimulus. They don't want to tell you that but you should receive your money by the end of March depending on when you filed. Everyone who filed earlier with direct deposit should receive their money first. I hope this helps. Next week more people should start receiving their money. Some people already got their refunds.

Adjusted? Go back and double check if you missed a form, did a number get input wrong, etc. Always pay attention to IRS letter for specific year to correct. It doesn’t mean you did 2019 then the audit is for 2019. It could be 2015/16/17. One year I had to adjusted but didn’t pay attention to the year. Just thought it was previous year. It wasn’t and too late because you get a deadline. I went to that year they audit on the letter that I didn’t pay attention. Too bad too late my mistake was typing additional number instead of 0,000. I had 00,000. That additional 0 definitely is what made it wrong.

As a tax preparer, I can tell you that this is sooooo annoying and very common this year especially. I feel as time passes they get more and more delayed 😓. It's not a tax preparer thing, it's mainly an IRS thing. And yes, the returns that get filed 1st usually take longer than those who wait a bit more. Regardless of credits or not.

It’s been about 8 days for me and that tax topic 152 shows I believe it always is there doesn’t matter how long it’s been just like a fine print I think what’s really going on is there just backed up and if you ever worked at a call center you would know that people be lying just to get you off the phone because they don’t know what to tell you it’s the sad truth I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

Even with it being her first tax return, there are many e-filing options. Mailing it could take up to 3-6 months to be processed, at this point 😭

Finally spoke with someone they told me that 10 weeks is STANDARD processing time and I should call if I don't have it by then.
They told me my refund would arrive within a few weeks. It didn't arrive so I called again. They told me again that it would arrive within a few weeks, and still it didn't arrive. I went through this BS four times, and I still don't have my refund.

I was told tax topic code 152 means you're getting a refund.. you're just on processing and the system haven't generated a date yet.. the folks are behind.. it has nothing to do with them looking at it.. the computers do the work.. now if you're refund has to be looked at then yea it will go to somebody's desk.. it's no way they can look at a million returns hunnie.. the system does all the work... if your return needs attention then yea it will land on somebody's desk!! I am still waiting on my 2020 refund. I was going to call the IRS next week. I listen to a lot of other YT videos about refunds/delays, your video was the only one who has called and got someone on the line. I called several times last year but no one answered. Thank you for this detailed information.

have to start calling 7am EST. thank you! So here is what she told me.. The IRS is randomly putting returns into "review" which she said is like an internal audit they make sure everything looks great. She told me I am already processed and passed review and they will release the funds april 19th.
I have NEVER had this happen in 30 years.. so I think what is really going on is.. they saw a huge amount of early returns and just offloaded those into the review department. I think thats why the early returns are being delayed and not the more recent filings. They had way more than the normal processing department could handle early February so they just drop-dragged huge amounts of returns to the "review department". The review department also files returns but do it at a slower pace. It would be like you get overloaded at work with paperwork so you just pawn your paperwork off to a coworker who works in a different department.
The problem is, you have no way of knowing where you are in this "review que" unless you talk to a live agent. The live agent is able to tell you exactly where it is and time it's scheduled to be deposited.
If you don't find means of multiplying money,you will wake up one day to realise that the money you thought you had ,has finished investment is key.
I agree with you mate. Investment is the key to sustain your financial longevity. And not just any investment but investment with guaranteed return.
"To earn more you are required to have multiple diversified means of income", Which is why investment is an avenue of making more money once it's profitable.

I have topic 152 ,however I did receive my state check but not my federal check

Tax Topic 152 just means you opted for direct deposit

Gm. Do you think the hold up has anything to do with the unemployment tax. I have heard that we may have to do an amendment or possibly they will do adjustments. I'm thinking maybe they were waiting to see if the law was passed. Either way, I'm in the same boat with you. I pray we all get out refunds soon

Same here...no bar! The only difference is that I also no longer have topic 152 notification! Also, I tried calling and they say something about I cannot be connected at this time. This has never happened to me before, so I have no idea what they could possibly be reviewing more in-depth. So lost.

I am usually more patient, but I actually had plans. Now, I have to wait. Honestly, the REAL issue for me is the unknown. Not knowing why or when is frustrating, but if they said, "you are definitely getting your money and it will be in your account some time by June, I'd be ok with that. At least I know there are no issues with it and have some sort of time frame, you know?
Day 25 still no refund. I’m so frustrated 😞 and I also waited on the phone for nothing . I was like wow ... so the IRS can’t even answer my question. It really seems like she didn’t know what she was doing smh why us .... thanks goodness my stimulus will be here tomorrow.

Thank you. I still haven't received my refund as of now but I was grateful to receive my stimulus. I'm hoping they clear out these issues soon. I'm grateful to not be in a pickle, but a lot of other people need theirs soon.
I think my taxes being held up also made my stimulus held up also because everyone is getting that and I am one of few that is having this problem!!

I’m in Arizona same problem here! I was supposed to have a direct deposit on March 5th and still nothing!! I have spent hours trying to talk to someone and just get automated responses! So I’m glad you actually were able to talk to someone!! Hopefully we all get our money soon 🙏🏻
They could have been working on the 2019 before the 2020 refund when they kept on going on vacation
The seasonals dudnt furlough after shelter in place was dropped. They've been working on 2019 since the summer. On top of the delay, one of the 3 individual processing centers is scheduled to close in Sept. Most of the employees already bounced. It's bad.

@@intuitiveoasis9153 I have friends that work at the Fresno processing center that closes Sept 30th this year. It's been scheduled for years, it's just bad timing for covid. I also know they got sent home march/April for shelter in place orders and didnt start returning until jun/jul. The call center is different and stays open, but they weren't working for part of that time either. It took a while to send them laptops and adapt to teleworking. Big ol mess. Basically thr only ones that worked were higher graded employees that already teleworked or had their own equipment to adapt because they worked in the field, like auditors/collectors.
I agree! Still waiting for them to process my 2019 mail in taxes! Sent 2020 in electronically Thursday was in process Friday! I don’t get it !! So annoying haven’t got the last 2 stims cause of this shit!!
