Lantratov is wonderful. There is something additional in his dancing to just performing the steps and leaps. He deserves to become a star in the near future.
As his teacher said here, there nothing formal in him, nothing fake, he dances with his feelings, his heart. In this he reminds me of Nikolai Tsiskaridze who also loathed pretense and danced Albrecht with his heart and grace, he also danced Albrecht with Lunkina in 1998 wen he was young and he was wonderful, together they were a perfect pair and it's nice to see Lunkina again with Vladislav who is enchanting. Also a very sweet person. Lantratov is dancing it with the same lightness, grace and expression. He shows pain and love the same way. Tsiskaridze is still my favorite in this role, so princely and expressive but Lantratov is my favorite of the younger generation.
@Clarissa Leung Thank you. Very sad that Ratmansky's circus is replacing Grigorovich's classics. When I looked at Ratmansky's Albrecht jump like a frog on a trampoline where Albrecht is supposed to beg Willies for forgiveness, I had to laugh but also felt like I wanted to cry. And his Sleeping Beauty is a tragedy. At least there are two full Giselle productions with Tsiskaridze on You Tube, with Lunkina and Zakharova, couldn't be any better.
@Clarissa Leung And Lunkina to me was the best Giselle, she debuted with Tsiskaridze when she was 18, the youngest in Bolshoi's history and she was unbelievable, that was translated and is on You Tube. She is a very sweet and humble person, dances now in Canada with their National Ballet, has a daughter and a son, her partnership with Nikolai I think wa like no other, they danced so much together, Giselle, Pharaoh's Daughter, Nutcracker, Bayadere, Rose Malade, Notre Dame, Pique Dame and were always in such sync, both so expressive, it was the same with him and Zakharova. I have that Giselle with Lavrovsky on DVD but to be truthful, I wasn't super impressed. He talks here a lot about feelings but came across more macho than I like.
is really good was since long time l didn't see a so convincing dancer in this role,and is very lucky having mr lavrovsky as coach,he was one of the greatest of all times imo
Thank you for this wonderful video! It is marvelous to see one of my favorite young talents - Lantratov - coming up! I think it is an honor for him to partner Lunkina in one of her greatest roles! True artists!
I totally agree, as you probably know my favorite Albrech was always Nikolai but Lantratov is wonderful, like Nikola he dances with his sol and heart and now he is my favorite of the younger generation. Wonderful young man, nice person like Nikolai too.
wow , he really danced that solo like Mytra and the wilies were going to kill him if he didn't continue dancing though the night , Very Believable Albrecht !!!!

Agree totally! Tsiskaridze performs the same Albrecht choreography and yet it is the way he does it with his magnificently beautiful body that is just breathtaking. My favorite Giselle is the 1998 performance of Nicolai and the exquisitely ethereal Svetlana Lunkina

He is a genuinely sweet person and especially fine as Albrecht. He and Lunkina are beautifully matched.
