You can compare the JP franchise a bit with the Indiana Jones franchise. It's not that no games have been made, on the contrary. A game that leaves the same impact on a player as for example the first movie from 93 did on the moviegoer however, that's a game they (to my opinion) still have to make and a game I'd buy instantly.
I have fond memories of most of the games that came out on the Sega and Nintendo consoles. Say what you want but they did the best they could with the technology that was available at the time. That's something that's seriously lacking nowadays to my opnion. Don't get me wrong, it's just that (again to my opinion) in modern times that right JP game, that hits all the sweet spots, doesn't exist yet. Also, what's with all the solely first person focussed games. They did it with Jones and now they're going to do it again with the new JP game... For cryin' out loud, why can't we (anno 2025!?) have both the 1st and 3rd person perspective. Sigh...
