I just installed it straight on without the adapters so the filter is a direct fit to the intake hose. If you have the same type of Astra as me then you should be fine mate
Ive got a astra h gtc 2009, and was considering a cone air filter !! You have had it now 3 months, do u really think its an improvement ?? In sound only or performance, fuel economy etc ?
I have to say I’m honestly impressed with the cone air filter. From my experience with these air filters the sound is the key factor over performance. In the performance perspective it adds a little boost (not dramatically but you can feel the difference.) I have had no effect on the fuel economy. Overall i’m impressed with air filter. Hope this helped :)
Not sure if you still have the car but what was it like with flood water due to the storms we've been having and bad floods were I'm from its been really bad and wondered if you had any problems with same situations. Cheers
Ashman 94 From my experience, these air filters are very good and I would Highly Recommend it. It improves the performance and mpg. It also increases the bhp by 3-5 hp believe it or not. Hope this helped mate
Doesn’t need a re map for the sound but you can to re map it for more power. I don’t have any plans on re mapping my car as I do not plan on keeping this car for longer🤷🏽♂️
i have an mk5 06 plate sri + 1.8 , will vxr exhausts fit on it ? or can someone recommend an exhaust system not tryna go crazy was gna delete the back muffler but the tip would’ve came off too
I’m not sure about the VXR exhaust but I know that you can get a sports back muffler that would have a sporty sound but not too crazy and will look like the genuine astra chrome tip exhaust. If you lookout for hornet sports exhaust for mk5 astra on Ebay you should find some there and watch the reviews of the exhaust on youtube. Hope this helped :)
Dead-Shot Airsoft Hey, the air filter can make the astra abit louder, check out my video titled “Number Plate LED Unit upgrade” where I show the update sound of the air filter. Another thing you can do is a backbox delete + straight pipe or you can change your whole exhaust system

The adapters for the cones, do they have to be tightened on or can you just twist it in?
You do need a remapping, as you're running underfueled with that pod filter. Lean mixture can wreck your engine!

No. But it WILL reduce your BHP unless you get a remap!

No they do not need mapping it's a 1.8 n/a engine you'll achieve about 12 extra hp with a map lol

Yes vxr exhaust will fit but needs some work to fit...i have see some on estate and van, hatchback

Bad method. Filter will suck Hot air as soon as engine/exhausting gets warm.

The difference in the sound is 1%. No point in doing this if you want a louder noise.
