i got a multi-color printer, but it's just gathering dust now. the waste from multi-color printer felt like throwing-out money away. recently, i've been falling for the v400. it's single-color, but the speed is so fantastic. the time saved gives me more free time to paint. loving it
Depends on ease of use and reliability. I know creality is behind in those areas, but bambu has nailed both, which is why they're so popular. If flashforge can nail this, they've got a winner on their hands. I use A1s with AMS lite and it's great, but do like the idea of the AMS being built right into the printer. The smaller bed size is a downside for me though. I often use the full bed of my A1.
Cost is only part of the equation. Ease of use and reliability are crucial because for most, the time spent tinkering yo get it working is worth more than the price difference. I just want to print; I don’t have the time nor energy to spend getting it to work And you’re be surprised that the “masses” have way more money to spend then you think lol, and would willing throw premium dollars just for ease of use. Don’t get stuck in an echo chamber thinking that open source and low costs are what matters; that mainly matters to the enthusiasts.
I love the TPU 95A capable multi filament feeder but wish the AD5X had a larger build volume to allow more parts on the same build plate for less manufacturing labor. Enclosed would be nice but PETG-CF is strong and prints well so that reduces the need for ABS, nylon, etc. The ability to print a rigid material and flexible TPU in the same part is huge for my functional prints. I'd like a heated filament drying box with ball bearing roller for TPU.
I want to see the reliability with TPU first ... This system isn't much different from the AMS lite of Bambu. Does Bambu claim the AMS lite can do TPU 95A? I don't think so. And if they don't, there's probably a very good reason for that. So, until proven otherwise by extensive tests, I doubt this knock-off can pull it off RELIABLY.
WOW. That seems to be a great deal! It does look you're going to be able to add panels and a door. You can see all the pre drilled and threaded holes on the frame. 👍
I don't think there will be an enclosure for this printer. They would probably have to redesign the multifilament system so that only one PTFE tube goes to the hotend.
Would have made greater impact to have user tests released at the time of press launch AND not a 60 day delivery timeline..... seems they may only be producing to order ??
@@vicenjesus do not buy this crap they cant even do a high quality video instead got some dude walking on a treadmill wtf lol bad first layer no poop no camera no ai
Wondering how it compares to the Anycubic Kobra 3 with Ace Pro. That one is $379 currently in the US and has a filament dryer built in. Something Bambu and Creality haven’t done yet.
Awesome video. I wonder if there is a kit like the 5m is to close it up. I know they said looking at it. Also the guolder 4 which is 300x300 with 4 color. But no price yet.
This printer has all the comfort functions that you expect from modern machines. And by the way, if you have a Core XY printer from Bambu Lab. Take a look under the bed. There are knobs there too, they're just not as noticeable. The knobs are only used to tramm the bed, if necessary but it comes pre-trammed from the factory.
Change the ship from location to Local. Also, the existing enclosure will bolt up to this easily. The risers will need to be redesigned to accommodate the ptfe tubes.
a so a P1P with a built in AMS for £369? i dig. a P1P is £399 on its own currently, £329 for an AMS. i hope flashforge sell a load of these. i might even pick one up myself
FlashForge specifies readily available 95A durometer TPU and presumably higher durometer although that hasn't been widely available, but probably will now that Bambu Lab released their AMS compatible TPU. The FlashForge IFS won't work with NinjaFlex or similar low durometer TPU, because the IFS pushes the filament through a length of reverse Bowden tubing.
@@michawasiljew6620 - If the AD5X had a larger build volume, I'd buy one to print parts that are part PETG-CF for rigidity and part TPU for flexibility or shock absorbing, with the two materials printed interlocked on a single machine with a single nozzle, with no assembly labor needed. With 0.2 mm layer height and 4 mm of overlap, that's 40 poops (~20 grams) per build plate, or half that if the slicer is smart. Less poop per part is an argument for a larger build plate.
The 220 cubed build plate just to small to compete with other brands out there. Not a fan of the spools out in the open either. Doesn’t seem like they put a lot thought in to this printer
I can get Bambulab P1S Combo for 599 now. Why would go for this machine vs Bambulab? I would be OK to pay a bit more for better quality and bigger build volume.
@@DS-pk4eh in my country you won't get a P1S combo for under $900. $399 for this one is quite compelling. Even an A1 combo goes for at least $500 here.
Ehh this looks bad in design and what you would have to do to make a custom fully enclosure would far exceed the price due to the four PTFE tubes. The parent competitor to the core XY machines is far better of an investment. Even Prusa is finally competing with their new core XY machine. The only way to justify this machine, is purely for a PLA farm to outweigh the cost.
You should have asked if the ad5x is going to use the same stolen klipper firmware as the AD5M. They stole klipper forked it illegally and tried to lie about it. Since this looks like the exact same setup as AD5M, buyers should be warned about buying products with unlicensed ip in them because it can result in them being removed from the marketplace.

2025 is the year of multi-color printers. Maximizing the bed size for high-volume MC printing will work best for these multi-plexing type units.
WOW, this is how you upset the market. Bambu and Creality must really be BLANK SPACE right now. For $399, they are very appealing to the masses.
Just think that a AMS unit is at the same price 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

The leveling knobs on the bottom of the bed make me nervous! IM NOT GOING BACK TO BED LEVELING 😂
It's supposed to be fully automatic
I prefer the ability to mechanically level the bed once and then have the printer do the Z offset and bed mesh leveling automatically.
Bambulab has them too, most user just never notice because they don't need to use them.
I saw that too

With the release of the AD5X, why hasn't been a update of Orca-Flashforge or the AD5M Pro firmware?
Seems pretty hard to enclose with that mmu system but if it has auto z and all the rest, that's pretty attractive.
Will there be a camera add on?
want to know what the head unit is on it and if we can upgrade our m5 and m5pro with it?
Sorry. No IFS retrofit to the previous FlashForge printers.
The threaded holes in the frame seem to promise an enclosure add on kit.
BTW, the price in the link is $499

Add another 4 spools on other side and 4 at the back. 12 colour with 12 separate bowden tubes. That would be called flash octo printing
Not to be confused with a raspberry pi flashed with octoprint
Are those….. bed levelling wheels??
For a beginner, is this better to buy than M5 Pro?
Pretty much the same apart from the 4 colors
The price is insanely good.
Is that a manually levelled bed? I don't think I could go back to that
It should probe with nozzle (pressure sensors under bed), but I'd rather have bed mesh compensate 0.1 mm unevenness between corners than 1.0 mm 😉
No it's auto
