    3:30 - Thanks a lot for this explanation. I always used two feet even for china jump on forehand side and was always wondering why the reach is not that huge compared to others or compared to what we see some of the fastest pro players do. This shift in momentum and jumping with one leg seems to be the key. Will give it a try. Thanks and love new your micro animations.

    you demonstrate some nice moves with fine skills and athleticism, and everything you say about hip rotation, landing and recovery is right. you also address using the floor as the foundation for the upward kinetic flow of energy that leads to high velocity smashes. it's a super-important point that most tutorials about smash dont adequately address
    there is another problem, which is that most players are not willing to do the work to get into position to make the kind of shots you make in this video. the reason many players have poor hip rotation, for example, isnt that they dont understand the mechanics of a jump smash. it's because they do not do the work to move early, explosively, fast, and long, to get well behind the shuttle. therefore they cannot bring their energy forward effectively after striking the shuttle no matter what they do at that point
    in other words, the reason they dont get these mechanics of jumping is that they dont do the work required to ever be in a position to execute those mechanics, but they still believe they should be able to hit a great jump smash
    although the jumps you demonstrated are complex, you did a good job of helping players understand them intuitively as a single smooth flow of energy that begins at the floor rather than in parts that get put together. the mechanics of getting the body well behind the shuttle fast and explosively is also foundational and simpler than the jumps themselves, and it is the greatest point of resistance among players who believe they want to improve. if a player accepts this work, it probably means he wants to play badminton rather than some pseudo-sport he has in his head where he hits amazing smashes but his legs dont do too much work. it also means for most players that their energy is going to flow up and forward and hip rotation and recovery happens more naturally and intuitively
    you did some demonstration in this video about the energy and mechanics of getting into position, but a focussed treatment of this topic might help a lot of players, beginning with stance, weight distribution and preloading of quads and other muscles, split-step timing, reading the shuttle, and then the kind of athleticism and footwork involved in getting yourself into position when the shuttle is hit over your head

      Maybe we just need to have you write some articles for us XD
      Great analysis. It's always a fun balance of how in depth you can go in a video without it being too convoluted!

    how to perfectly time and middle the shuttle while smash ?how to avoid slicing while smash?

    • @BadmintonFamly
      @BadmintonFamly  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The timing is all about experience and how to "feel" when and where the shuttle is. The slice in the smash usually happens when you don´t fully rotate your forearm into the shot. Watch some of our tutorials for the smash and/or the clear.

    I'm 48 is it still a good idea to jump or is risk of injury too high ??

    • @BadmintonFamly
      @BadmintonFamly  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Depends on how your body is doing in general. You can never be too old to jump, but if it's the first time learning this, slow and steady progression I every important

      @@rebelaqua823 Proper movements should very much help you not injure you're ACL or any other part of your knee. However if you're already struggling with that injury or anything like it you would of course need to take extra care.
      But you see pros who've had torn ACLS still jump and fly up after. It's just about building it up right
