Great operator! So gentle on breaking over Center on that guy’s trailer. Could tell he was very impressed by the way he held his hands up in the air.

I always threw the bucket beyond the trailer and ran a chain through the drag chains from one side of the back of the trailer to the other. That way I could help pull with the drag and keep control of when the tracks tipped over by being able to pull the front down. Had 3 foot wide pads and they'd slip if you blinked. Sounded like a Cat 318 engine. Good job!

Lewie could I get in contact with you? My email is adriannettlefold@hotmail.com
I'm looking at buying a 38RB dragline and I have no experience with operating this type of machine. I want to know how you go about disassembling the boom reassembly for transport as shown in this video. Along with any other information you can give. Cheers Adrian.

@@adriannettlefold9084 The biggest I fooled with was a 30-B and we always hauled ours with the boom intact. Just stuck it out over the trailer and tied a flag on it but ours was a smaller machine. As far as the operations they are the same as other machines other than some with right hand swings. Just keep the slack out of the cables and the drag rope out of the ground, keep a grease gun handy and go slow till you get the hang of it. It's not rocket science and the swinging was the roughest for me, never being in a free swing before. But just go slow. Someone else can help you about the boom teardown. I'll be around.

@@lewiemcneely9143 thank you. I have operated many different types of earthmoving equipment over the years, but now would like to own some for myself and hopefully have an avenue away from my main job as a Train Driver. I'm trying to become more mechanically capable, but have never done anything like this before, let alone pull anything apart and rebuild it. Please feel free to take a look at my channel. Cheers Adrian.

@@adriannettlefold9084 I sent you an email so you have mine too. These rigs aren't complicated. One thing just does one thing. You move with the same clutches as the swing. It just changes gearsets and yours will be air operated more than likely. I'd rather have straight mechanical and not have to take into consideration the lag of the air systems but whatever you get used to. Folks asked me all the time why I didn't get anything of my own and I always told them if the machine burned to the ground all I had to do was get another job instead of fight with insurance outfits and find another machine in the meantime. Lots easier to leave it wherever it is and go home and forget about it. For me, anyway.
