i had everyone in my party go down but cassandra and she fought on for 40mins alone and from then on i just called her cassandra the dragonslayer. the music made it so hype
Ironically, that's what she's called in the actual game too.

Blackwall has always been a real fucking WALL for my enemies.Cassandra was mainly there to do dps and kill but was much more fragile.
The same happened to me with Loghain in origin while fighting the archdemon, the man gained my respect that day.
This happened with me too! Cassandra's build must be such that she's pretty immune to this specific dragon.
This song just made cleaning my room one of the most epic experiences of my life.
:)) I think this makes technically anything the most heroic thing we are just doing in the moment. ^^

One of the best songs in the game. That said, while this battle is the first time I heard the song, it's not the only time it plays; it plays during a few other dragon battles, and Cassandra's loyalty mission alongside a tamer sounding version of this which was great as well.

Bizarre that this isn't on the official soundtrack. It's the best track.
There's like 10... whopping 10 great tracks that can blow many tracks on the OST out of water and for some reason, they were left out of it. I don't get their decision making.

The Dragon themes in this game are so damn good.
I didn't have the best opinion of Inquisition and the dragon fights in general... except this one, because all they need is a score to really set the stage for the battle... and whilst this wasn't the only Dragon where it played, it was the first for me.
It also really suited the battle, the stakes, the emotion... it's all there and creates a sense of wonder, pushing you on and taunting you to greater heights.
As for my fight with Vinsomer... I used a very hyper efficient Reaver setup the first time I encountered it, and whilst it did knock out most of my team. I was still up and trading blows with this big bastard, since I could very efficiently heal off the damage with my lifesteal... just came down to my timing, and thankfully I built quite heavily into being elementally bulky.
Alongside this song, it became a true battle of the ages between a Dragon and one who drinks their blood... and it was a level of hype beyond most fights in the game.
My second playthrough... let's just say it didn't last long enough to matter. I was doing the op strategy with that one mage class and the magic greatsword, essentially making me damn near immortal and high damage.
It's either the dragon or the victim who dislike this... XD

I'm listening to this while doing an assignment resubmission, it's both good & bad:
I am able to focus better than without music or with most music, I listen to, however, I am getting energy in my limbs, ready to get to exercising -- while I do this, I feel less tired than normally (which is less than a push up, now I can do five with little effort... What sorcery is this?!)

... but I only just noticed that Cassandra in the art is lacking a very important part of gear. Her shield.
I was insanely underleveled for the fight. Dorian, Blackwall and Varrik got completely nuked. I could endure the entire fight as a Knight Enchanter, but it took like 10 minutes to beat the hecking dragon lol.
I've killed 9 dragons, but can't seem to croak Vinsomer. He's the only one left, all my characters are lvl 23, but still no luck, that lightning thingy just PWNS everybody, and I spend more time healing than attacking.... But I'll get him soon. SOON.
Heres how I did it, one attempt only. Get one melee (maybe Vivienne, knight enchanters are op) up on the dragon and thats it. The three others should be ranged but not too far away or that wind will eat your health potions. Maybe put them behind the dragon and spaced out.
You should just have made some gear with electric resistance for all your party

The best part of the game... I died like 18 times... I kill it with a level 17 shield and sword, unspecialized qunari... sera with bow, solas with fire magic, viviene with ice magic, NO ONE WITH FUCKING DISPEL... 8 healing potions, in hard dificulty... the only reason for keeping dying it was listening to this... and kill dat ugly madafaka...
Last i recall this song doesnt just play for Vinsomer, but also for Sandy Howler, Hivernal, Kaltenzahn and the Highland Raveger. Bad Ass Dragons deserve a Bad ass theme, only ones that dont have a bad ass theme are Northern hunter, Greater Mistral, Garmordian Stormrider and the Abyssal High Dragon. Fereldan Frostback has its own killer them, used for it and only it! :)

Went in solo with my knight enchanter and fought it for 15 minutes in a tight battle until finally, it went down 1v1.
I dunno... I know lorewise the Warden is the most badass motherfucker out there but the inquisitor was no less of a badass... too bad about that game's ending. :(
May I ask how this was done? I would love to just be able to download this song to my computer to listen to it whenever. It is my favorite song from DAI. I was sad when I listened to my copy of the soundtrack thinking it would have this song on it only to find out it didn't! I wonder why such a great song was left off the soundtrack?

I tried this dragon on casual (this was my first playthrough of the game) a week ago and made 2 attempts at her at 16 rest of party at 15 (assassination rogue+ Cassandra+ Sera + Viviene. (I was in the area). first attempt I got her to halfway before dying . (it was actually my only game over in my first play through). the second attempt I run in but she goes up into the air and squished Viviene and Sera with something ( I wasn't watching) so I decided to just run/stealth out of range. I think I bugged her too because I was in combat with him till I got off the island.
The next day I had leveled to 17 (same party but lvl 16) and killed her but it wasn't an easy fight
+Daniel Bell Just get vivienne to max out knight enchanter, that way she can't die from gaining so much energy shield on hit. I think that's what i did against this dragon. honestly pretty much solo'd it haha. Mind you this was at release so it may of been nerfed
+TheZombieMasta His berserk field eats through barriers like candy unfortunately. mages are too squishy for this fight imo, I had to micromanage Solas casting barrier and dispel while Cassandra, Blackwall, and my two hander Inquisitor dealt the damage.

i really appreciate game producers put so much effort on music, Dragon AGe should really be the REAL AAA game of the year, the garbage game like destiny, no plot, repetitive, boring, half ass, what a shame.
Destiny's gotten a HEFTY update patch to pretty much everything now. Definitely worth checking out to see if anything major's been fixed liked they said they did with the latest one.
This made dragon fights so much fun, it also plays during all three of the Emprise du Lion dragon fights. How did you get it by the way? Its not in the Soundtrack from the digital deluxe edition.
Indeed, sadly it's not in the OST, so I had to rip it from the game itself.
The modified version of this plays in Emprise du Lion with the 3 dragons, with added drums as an intro. Still, I can't choose between them, they both are epic.

toshtao1 Yes, you are right. I am aware of my mistake (which I fixed in my next videos), I was afraid to increase the volume, I didn't know how much it (and TH-cam) will distort the sound. It was my second video upload ever, became nervous a little, didn't want to ruin it.

Probably my least favorite dragon fight. Because the party AI is garbage Sarah and varic we're constantly bashing their bows against his face instead of attacking him from a distance.
And I personally hate dragons with gimmicks. It's not enough your health bar is that big you have to have electricity and armor?
After my entire party went down for like the 11th time I stopped reviving them.
Ended up soloing the dragon. Mind you I was a warrior champion class which pretty much means I was indestructible.
It was kind of sad actually. every time the poor dragon tried to attack me everything would just bounce off. Took me about 25 minutes of sword and shield slashing and bashing before I finally put him down or her down.
This was exactly me except I was level 15 and have Bull, Blackwall and Sera. I didn't have Blackwall leveled correctly at the time sadly but it took me 35 minutes to kill her
