Great video! Great collection. The ultimate family room. I bet your kids and their friends have made memories there that will last forever. Cheers!
I was born in February of '82, and you have more cabinets than my local neighborhood Arcade that existed during the mid 80s and early 90s Miami Beach on 14th Street and Washington Ave. on the southwest corner, across the street from my Elementary school. (Location where they shot the cult classic movie "PORKY'S".) At that time the most popular games were Punch Out and Battle Axe, until the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cabinet was brought in. I played a lot of Galaga and 1942 because the big kids always hogged the best cabinets. That arcade closed down in 92 or 93 and I remember it very fondly. I wonder if anyone remembers that arcade? I would love to have my memories refreshed.
I’m a CA kid, so I don’t know that arcade (and you just reminded me I’ve never seen Porkys all the way through) but I love hearing stories like this 🤙🏼
Howdy ya'll,
I really like your classic Arcade games, I grew up playing these games as they debuted back in the 80s, I've always wanted a real classic Arcade game, but I'm just a farmer, and have zero connections, to even find someone who will sell me a Classic Arcade game, I'm the only farmer that I'm aware of, that actually loves playing 80s Arcade games.. just wish I had half the connections you have my Friend, Thank you for sharing your footage of your Classic Arcade games, really enjoyed that, Peace
Awesome collection! Zoo Keeper, Toobin, Tapper, Food Fight, Paperboy and a Red Tent. S Tier arcade!
This guy has the most relaxing voice. If I was his neighbor, Id be over there all the time on that Golden Tee!!
I loved playing Toobin in my local mall arcade. The arcade was called Just Fun. Would love to add one to my game room.
Toobin is so fun and gets so much hate. I think part of the problem is the continuous free play and continues in a home setting. If you turn free play off and play for high score it’s great!
I’ve never seen a bar top that wraps around a couch like that before. Pretty ingenious, I’d love to have a setup like that.
I had never seen/heard of them either. My wife was the one who introduced me to them, haha
It's a video game I played when I was in 1st or 2nd grade of elementary school, so I can't remember.
After I got a bit older, I remember mainly playing ninja baseball, techmo world cup, metal slug, bloody loar, and penguin brother.
Beautiful room and awesome you have a street fighter 2 arcade. Probably the most influential game u ever played. Met a lot of good people and friends over the years
Nice converted garage, plenty of arcades and nice sitting area. Awesome job man!
This is one of the most descriptive and entertaining arcade room reviews on YT! Thanks for taking the time to put this together. Cheers 🍻
Side note: If you ever get bored of your Paperboy, I know someone that could help take it off your hands 😂
@@jsenigaglia Thank you! I should be good for a while. Just snagged a Centipede cabaret yesterday 👍
Great collection, great room, nice to finally see the whole room. Fire up the arcade outsiders podcast
Great video Joe! Jenny and I watched the whole thing! It made me want to power on my games! Thanks for the mention!
@@jsenigaglia Yes, also you don't need to apologize for that video that it is long. The warning that it will be long was sufficient. ;-P
Oh man I don’t remember ever seeing Out Run, but I spent all my money on Pole Position in a Safeway back in Jr. High in DC!
Good stuff bro
Looks great! I have to believe that this is the first time anyone has ever uttered the phrase "this is the second Toobin' I have owned." Don't get me wrong, I love Toobin', but not a lot of people can say that they got rid of a Toobin' and decided they had to have it again...
Haha so much Toobin hate! 😬. I love the game, and I love the cabinet. I guess it makes it easy to have when you’re not tight on space ya know?
I have always loved your garage space. The couch tables, the games, the posters, a little fall football in the background. Enjoy playing working games & make them look better later, or don't :)
Amazing review and great collection, JOW! However, Had you considered intro'ing this video with, "WE.. ARE .. IN .. THE.. GARAGE..!" A la, "The John Jacobsen" ??
Aweosme setup Joe! Love the stories and walk thru. I don’t own any arcade games but huge fan.
Its a fun hobby for sure, and very rewarding fixing things when they stop working :)
@@jsenigaglia seems like a rewarding and prideful hobby and I am a pretty nostalgic person so it all
Comes together.
@@jsenigaglia I grew up with NBA JAM, but I def. think Hang Time is the better game. What do you think?
* on a side note, i love how you spend more time showing the machine, a lot of people just pass over them so quickly. the candy machine adds to the room, don't get rid of it, invest in some candy and let it sit there forever! even if no1 eats it.
Great video! I love Game! !from japan
Oh and same issue with Paperboy. Monitor needs dialing in and is always seemingly just a little off
That could be caps, tube or fly back? It all depends on what’s going on with it?
Sweet video Joe. Miss hearing you (and the guys) from a few years back talk arcade stuff. You need to do more vids!
Regarding 720, 34k finally convinced me to put this game in the Grinkfest tournament in 2019 and am quite happy with how competitive it was as a tournament game.
Joe I've been binge listening again to the Arcade Outsiders podcast (third time round). I miss all you guys on the podcast and TH-cam, it's so awesome to see you're still into the games and the garage is looking amazing bro.
Really cool collection! I just started collecting and my first was a deluxe after burner and now a Lethal Enforcers haha. Hopefully one day it will be as expansive as yours!
I would love an Afterburner! I dropped a TON of quarters in that game as a kid. Enjoy the hobby!!
@@jsenigaglia I never could afford it when I was a kid at the arcade. now it's set to feeplay in my garage lol Unreal!
18:23 No doubt it's the best 2-player game of all time as you can play as a team or against one another. Wonderful game! Also, a lot of people don't know but it's the first appearance of the Turtles, green pipes, Luigi in color, coins and the first time Mario and Luigi have super powers and can jump real high. Total classic game! If you have kids I would seriously think about playing 2-player games together and adding up your combined scores together and submitting them to TwinGalaxies. Just keep in mind that once one person loses their last man the game is over for the both of you. It's a team score.
I didn't realize TG was still a thing, haha. I've been outta the game too long!
@@jsenigaglia For me, what made the games so fun was trying to get to the next level in the game or score wise. Never thought I would do what I did to be honest.
Even if it wasn't working I am jealous of those Super Hang-On and Tapper prices. I picked up a Tapper pretty new condition for 2k and Super Hang-On always seems to go 4k+. 20k for the sit down cab which is bonkers to me
Yeah, time and place is a big thing. I’ve been lucky on a lot of these games for sure.
Hi my name is Lance and I'm from the United States and I love your channel keep up the amazing work and also love arcade games pac-man and Mario and donkey Kong and paperboy are my favorites and so is pole position
Glad you're still collecting, Jow. Nice to see an update on the arcade after all this time. I still have your old Taxi, its a staple and gets regular play. Ever getting back into pins? The space is looking close to full in there.
Glad that Taxi is still getting the love it deserves! I was thinking about how I miss it a little while back. I need to add another pin someday :)
Some arcade classics. You need a neo geo either the arcade or the home sys using arcade carts.
Love the Zookeeper cab. One of my favorite obscure games that most people have never heard of. Used to play one at the corner store by my house as a kid.
ZooKeeper would be the last to go if I ever got rid of these things. Love that game so much.
My brother tried to go the same route but he pretty much spent his yearly budget on Gauntlet 2. This is the best 4 player game I have ever played. He has a lot of 1up games which are a bit smaller but it's fine by me.
Good to see the game room again! I was so happy when I called DirecTV to cancel, after 20 years as a customer. I'm surprised they are still around, when AT&T bought them the prices starting going up and the offerings going down. Cincy is for real this year I think, maybe we'll get a Cincy vs SF rematch in the SB
Pretty damn cool. I've always wanted to get into the hobby. The prices are outrageous so I just want a 50 in 1 Neo Geo cabinet or something like that for $500 or $600
There was a time where deals were to be had ALL the time. Sadly, those days are gone now it seems. Your best bet is to find something that doesn't work and try and go from there :)
Red Tent is awesome, I love mine that I got amazingly restored by Andrew 34K. Been playing Goonies lately, but ExciteBike, SMB, and Dr Mario probably get the most play
SMB/Dr Mario get the most play from me, too. The boys and their friends are super into RBI Baseball these days, haha.
Covid had to mess everything up and now the prices of everything are outrageous. I love arcades and pinball machines. Irritating that everything is 3x what it used to be. Gotta be a millionaire just to collect games anymore.
Honestly, the boom of barcades in the last 10 years was the beginning of the end for decently priced stuff. Covid didn’t help though, you’re right. I’m hoping things start to get back to “normal” in this hobby at some point. It’s crazy.
I am still in shame....I've played DK since it first came out. A few weeks ago at Barcade in NYC I did not beat the first screen....ever. Ms Pacman fast I would destroy almost anyone to this day.
My arcade dream is all pinball machines: The Black Night, Space Invaders, Gorgar. Oh, I actually did very well on Wizard of Wor the other day.
Great collection!
Do you turn off the power to all those when not in use to save them from wear, or leave them on continuously?
Great review. What streaming service do you use for the old school WWF stuff often seen on your beer reviews?
Like the games Joe. I’m a collector as well, based out of Phoenix.
What are your thoughts on the current state of the hobby. I feel like arcades have gotten tremendously expensive and everyone seems to be trying to “restore” games, but most of them are not true restores and look like trash underneath the new side art. Wondering your thoughts.
And I miss Arcade Outsiders, Grinkfest, Brofest, etc….
beautiful, supreme. how much would i cost for setting up something like that?
It all just depends on which games you’re wanting and the deals in your area these days.
Nice video. Wouldn't it make more sense to have the Golden Tee switch spots with Street Fighter? That way Player 1 for Street Fighter has more space and isn't pressed up against a machine.
You’d probably get some more room if they were swapped, but it’s not much of a difference if we’re being honest. It feels comfortable playing SF where it’s at 🤙🏼
Where hope goes to die...... yoinks.....lol.... smile guys!!!!.... have some fun!!!!..lol
Question..what is the best way to power all these? My collection has grown and I'm out of outlets!
This is an old video showing what I did years ago. Hope it helps some!

@@jsenigaglia Good looking out! Appreciate you_just have to decide what games to leave here at CA spot and what to take to my FL spot. I am out of room here in CA place. Lol
Sweet game room bro!
@@jsenigaglia Joe I’m surprise a double dragon cab isn’t in the collection,. DD takes place in Honk Kong akin with Blood Sport. 🙂
Joe you said a good friend Greg had passed away recently , I am presuming, hopefully wrongly , that this is Greg from Arcade Impossible ?
I might be wrong but I believe your control panel of the Street Fighter cabinet is not stock! I think the original control panel is all metal and have these weird angles on the front.
I think you’re thinking of the Z-Back style cabinets? I think the actual name is 3-KOAM? Google search that and double check if that’s what you were thinking of 😄
@@jsenigaglia I found here, both the Z back and the straight back SFIICE had these metal control panels, but they are actually different cabinets than yours. It was the one I remember playing when I was a teenager!
i would love to own a super hang on, but sadly arcade cabs in germany are as rare as gold :D
I wish my room was your room
720 game , thats a really hard game to play - totally brilliant joystick
@@jsenigaglia when you put the coin in , ''that sound'' , then the ''skate or die'' - such a serious game - I played it 30 years ago - I still think of it as prob the top of the tier of games - they are v hard to come by in the UK - and then you have the upkeep of that joystick , i bet most are broken ! how often do you play it ? ( every night is the right answer ;-))
Hold down player 1 when you power up it should get you into the high score menu to set free play
For Mario Bros? I think that works with all the braze kits except that one 🤦🏻♂️
(Since 2022) Jows Arcade videos 6 - John 0.
@@anthonyotoole8737 none, unfortunately. I’ve not spoken to John in a long, long time.
@@jsenigaglia What happened you guys were such great friends and the podcast I still listen to every night with affection , so funny and just pure gold !!!!
Hey Joe, absolutely love your arcade content (and you have some insane Paperboy skills!) but I was just wondering why you blocked me on Twitter? If you only let mutuals/friends follow you on there I completely understand, I was just curious. Again, awesome arcade!! 🍻
Sorry about that! There has been a weird influx of bots that have been following me so I’ve been filtering them out. Send me your Twitter handle and I’ll fix it!
@@jsenigaglia my account is @madame_meow , thank you so much! Hope you get your bot problem sorted out :)
I'm in my 50's and my parents starting in 1981would drop me off at arcades. That was my default babysitter.
There will never be anything like the "original" arcades from the 70's until the mid 80's. Being a 12 year old and early teenager during those times was great. I was an adult and married when the 90's started up, so I missed the adolescent times of that decade. Looks like I didn't miss much. I remember walking into Arcades in the early 90's and just shaking my head. It was never the same, but probably amazing to the new generation.
I have to mention this though .... It's funny to see millenials (born 1980-1995) on TH-cam always trying to act like they were there "back in the days" and "remember" those times (early 80's stuff and Arcades). Well....No, no you don't. None of you were old enough to experience an arcade in the 70's (weren't born yet), until mid 80's (way to young).....
@@jsenigaglia Okay boomer? Were you triggered by the Millenial comment? haha.
This is exactly why we take issue with your generation. You're a bunch of damn babies. Truth is truth. Sorry you cannot handle it. The world out here will not kowtow to your sensitive needs.
Good luck with your channel then, being another boring same content non creative lowly TH-camr.
Who's the triggered one?
Its weird to me that the content is so boring that you watched the entire video and then commented. Your attitude of "you'll never know" is laughable. I experienced arcades, just like you did. You think you playing Computer Space and Pong in the 70s was something amazing? Haha.
Arcade games didn't even get great until 1980, so you hanging out playing EM pinball isn't something to hang your hat on, sir. The arcades I grew up in during the mid 80s were head and shoulders above anything prior to that or what you were experiencing. The very reason I turned my garage into an "arcade" was to relive my childhood, and play all the games I grew up playing. I wasn't "too young" as you say to remember.
There is zero truth to your original comment as it pertains to me so I have no idea why you'd watch a video about a home arcade and say dumb shit like "always trying to act like they were there".
Uhhh, I was there.
Very entertaining and fun to watch. Love your collection too. Thanks for posting this.
