Beautiful fiber stash you have. Only you yourself know what you are capable of completing out of your stash. I’m spinning along with the Tour, hoping to finish a gifted fleece that I’ve been spinning since last fall and then some other fiber I’ve collected along the way.
I LOVE everything you have planned and that you have so many "comfort" spins that won't put too much pressure on yourself. I hope you are havig a fantastic tour!
My goal is to just spin some every day. I tend to not get much spinning done because I can’t put my knitting down. 🤪 I bought a cormo braid from Deep Dyed Yarns last week at knit group. Cormo is a new fiber for me. Can’t wait to see what you accomplish. ❤️
Wow Looks like great plans. I think you can do it and keep the sweater spin for whenever you have the time. I just got my first Woodland Handcrafts teacup support spindle and a beautiful spinning bowl (and an amazing sample from the Woodland Pixie). I am going to continue to work on my longdraw both on the wheel and now on this amazing spindle. I also purchased my first amount of raw fleece....6.5 pounds of Corriedale at the Estes wool Market in Colorado from a local shepherdess. It looks amazing. So this is my first fiber prep which I just want to wash (it's been skirted).and then do some samples both drum carded and hand combed (got a new drum carder and hand combs.) I'm in this deep, partly thanks to you for helping me get better and better. Keep us posted
Hi Sara, I hope you're OK xx ❣️❣️❣️❣️ I love your all your TDF plans for your "Spin Ups". You have some beautiful fibers to spin. I can't wait to see what Braids you decide to Spin first.. Have you set yourself any "Challenges " for thise days???🤔🤔🤔 I spun both the 1st and 2nd Rolags on the first day only because I wasn't sure how much free time I'd have on the 2nd day ( would have had plenty of free time). So now that I've already used the 2nd days Rolags . I'll use the time to make some more. Might nake another couple of Batts and some Punis too.🎉🎉🎉🎉 I have about 400gms of Skirted but unwashed Fleece. I'm going to wash these on the Challenge Days, probably split down into 100 gms.🐑🐑🐑🐑 Hope you have a Wonderful TDF 🚲🚲🐑 Happy Spinning Fibre Friend 🎡🐑🥰 Take care and stay safe Lots of love and "Fleecey" Hugs Jen xxxx ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🐑🐑🐑🐑🫂🫂🫂🫂🫂🐈⬛🫂
Great plan Jennifer! I hope you have a wonderful and productive TDF!! I do not ever set myself or try to complete challenges for the challenge days. I feel like an old lady, set in my ways and not wanting to jump through hoops for the challenge days. Have a wonderful day!
When you stopped i thought, “that’s it?” And then i realized that’s a lot of spinning! I’m eager to see how your spinning goes and what you end up being pulled towards the most. Do you do any personal challenges that align with the tour days or do you try to spin for a certain time each day?
I’m a moderator in The Spinning Circle on Ravelry and I’m running that TDF this year. So I’ll need to spin and post photos for that group daily. And the Jenkins scavenger hunt. Beside those two, I’m not really committing to anything. I may post in the Inglenook forum since that is my main priority spin this tour. As far as goals, just start to finish complete Nice. Ideally, I’ll spend at least an hour each day on that spin. I know you have Nice too, do you have any concrete goals or plans?
@@TheSpinningSara I’m doing Nice on supports and Woodland Pixie on Jenkins at a leisurely pace (probably for the rest of the year) and my only goal is to spin at least 15 minutes a day on my wheel. Now that the baby is older I’ve lost a lot of spinning time.
My goal is simple: just spin every day. I’ve got lots of lovely fibre from Schapenvachten Lifestyle in The Netherlands (I live in Europe): 500 grams of undyed merino top, 200 grams each of purple Shetland top and 200 grams of deep red merino top. I’ve also got 2 braids of Malabrigo Nube in the colourway Cereza that I bought elsewhere (can’t remember where). I’ve already spun some of the purple and I want to have enough lace weight 2-ply of the purple to knit a lace shawl and the pattern calls for 1300 metres. So that’s where I’m starting. All I want is to know how long I’ve spun over the entirety of the Tour and how many metres that has yielded me. Should I run out of fibre I’ve still got a box that contains the entire fleece of an alpaca in a lovely chocolate/coffee-without-milk brown that I can comb or card into nests. But I doubt I’ll run out of fibre: I’m a slow spinner, only started last year in August. There’ll be a lot of lunchtime spinning, either with my supported spindles,my Turkish spindles or me EEW Nano. People at the office have already gotten used to me spinning at my desk for the last 15 minutes of my lunch break, so they won’t even bat an eyelid if I do on office days. My first ever Tour De Fleece… exciting!

Absolutely love the Woodland Pixie in progress. Maybe I’ll try to recreate that color way.

Good luck. Yes you are crazy but that's the joy of life! I like how many times you talked about spins you enjoy!

Wow! Nice size fleece!! And congrats on your first WW!! You’ve got this!! There really is nothing quite like spinning from a freshly carded fleece.
That Inglenook braid…. the pops of lavender… 😍 Kicking myself for not getting one!!!
Macrina will usually agree to redyeing braids if you ask. Couldn’t hurt to try!

How exciting!! Your first TDF. Enjoy it! You’ve got a great plan!
always better to have too much than not enough for TDF!
Agree!!
