Pierre Loti Hill is a hill overlooking the Golden Horn in the Eyüpsultan district of Istanbul. The hill took its name from the French novelist and orientalist Julien Viaud, who came to Istanbul in 1876 and settled here, and is known for frequently visiting a coffee house on this hill. The proposal submitted to the city council in order to change the name of the hill to Eyüpsultan Tepesi received great objections from many circles and was rejected by the city council. Tepe and its tea garden with the same name are also a place frequently visited by tourists coming to Istanbul. Access to the hill is also possible with the TF2 (Eyüp - Pierre Loti) Cable Car Line.
Located north of the downtown business district and three blocks west of the State Capitol on a rise overlooking the Missouri River, the Pierre Hill Residential Historic District is the prominent residential district in Pierre.
Upon arrival at the hill, lies an open air cafe, which offers great views to the city, The teleferik runs every day from 8:00 till 23:00 at night and each wagon carries 8 people. A great way to enjoy both the ride and the amazing view from the historical hill, to Golden Horn and not only.
