I disagree with the other commenter about the camera work. The cinematography is incredible and is definitely an important part of making this feel so cool!!
I'm a martial arts instructor, one of my specialties is bladework. May I just say, this is fantastic. Phenomenal flow, great impact, expert timing. Just plain glorious!
Thank you for this, I'm sharing it with everyone I know.
Peak coreography and camera work!
Wow! What a flow! And the camera works really well, accentuating the motion without hiding what is going on.
I just want to let you know that you are doing divine work which is bringing us closer to Ao’s light.
Jesus Christ that was beautiful. 10/10 artwork life changing AHHHHHHH!!!
⚔⚔⚔
I loved this.
YES! WE APPRECIATE YOUR EXCITEMENT!
I already wrote a similar comment on instagram, but since I don't use IG often, I'm not sure I posted it correctly, so I'm gonna repeat myself:
Thank you SO MUCH for this. You literally brought my childhood to life.
I have such fond memories of reading these multi-page (sometimes multi-chapter!) duels between those 2 guys. Even recently, when talking with my friend about what influences me when I describe actions in combat during D&D, I mentioned to him that the ease I can do it with propably has a lot to do with me growing up on R.A. Salvatore books about Drizzt and Entreri.
Those hours spent with bated breath, reading about the "dance" of these 2 swordsmen clashing... Despite the fact that it happened over 20 years ago, those memories still occupy a rarely visited part of my mind. Rarely visited, cause unfortunately this stuff is getting kind of old and while Drizzt is still semi-relevant (he gets an art in a D&D book every now and then), Artemis is nonexistent in pop-nerd-culture.
So... It was a joy to see it all come to life after all this time. It almost felt like this video was made specificaly for me. Thank you so much
You're so welcome! Most of us at Amalgam are nerds in one capacity or another. We wanted to make this fight out of the same love for the Legend of Drizzt series that you have. I remember the days when I would read those books for hours vividly imagining what their movement must be like. We are very happy it struck a chord in you. It's what we strive for! Thank you for sharing! (:
love this!
Nicely done.
Great Choreography! Great Performance! Great Cinematography! I get excited every time I see you've posted a new video...
That was fantastic. Exactly how I imagine those fights. Great choreography and camera work!!
this was so awesome
Reminds of them fighting around Regis for some reason 😁
sheesh that back hand head slash at 0:25. ncie work
The choreography and cinematography are worth to be done in virtual screen, like they did on mandalorian series. I hope you guys got the chance to do that.
Sai and sword is one hell of a combo.
It's actually a parrying dagger, but that's an interesting idea for sure.
So far the best of the year. Also you guys really need to be in Highlander movie project LOL
The first was good, this was great!
Absolutely phenomenal
More please?!
Amazing as always
awesome fight but what does that have to do with dnd?
Fake. Where is Drizzt's double-cross down block into boot on face?
JK this is excellent
Guess we'll just have to add it to the next one ;)
This is better than A.I.
So what happens if someone doesn't block the sword and gets hit. Does it hurt to get hit?
They can bruise you, but it's rare for them to draw blood.
Sai? Not bad. But still waiting for kusarigama
Great choreo! But camera movement may be a bit too much. I'd wanna see your entire movement without too much screen shake.
That wasn't screen shake though. It's a dynamic camera movement with the intention of following the actions so the scenes is much more engaging. screen shake would have been way way different.
I agree. The choreography is incredible and super fun to watch. The camera's movements are too extreme at times. It sometimes jerks around or does sudden zooms or tilts that throws you off from the actual fight.
