This works precisely as advertised. Get the iron tool and remove all of the existing toner before filling. I also recommend you use a basic respiratory filtration mask and have some moist wipes to clean excess from the cartridge exterior after sealing. Order in larger quantities if you are outside of the United States and want to save on shipping. Everything needed to refill our empty cartridge collection was included once we had the iron. (Don’t skimp, it’s worth the one-time cost) The printed result is indistinguishable from the factory filled cartridge for general office use. I was able to refill 10 cartridges in less than one and a half hours on the first try.

Yeah man, me too. I'm a big outdoorsman. Hate to see people filling landfills with no regard. Why when you can prevent it and save money at the same time. Call me a tree hugger or whatever, but I love the clean outdoors and will do what I can to preserve it.

Received my package with 4 bottles. It took like 10 days from ordering to receiving the package! (Living in Europe!)
I didnt punch a hole in the cartridge. I just did the other method (check youtube)
Refill it by the original refill cap in the toner.
First few prints where awful, but after lets say 10 prints quality is good!
i think it had to do with some old powder it may have contain in the cartridge.

@@pr4442 haha better late then never. But you can fill this toner by Just the original refill cap. You have to cut off some of the plasrics on the sides of the toner. There are some video's of IT on TH-cam what to cut. After this modification is really easy the next time to open the cartridge again and fill IT!

In my model IT doesnt need to be changed. IT Will work without replace the chip. the only downside is the chip thinks its empy (0%) so the printer give you An red light. But IT still wil print!

Thank you for video, good idea. I used just old stainless steel nut with a proper rim instead of this kind of soldering iron. I heated it with electric stove in the kitchen (of course then I applied it not with bare fingers, take care).
I in no way am trying to take any business away from ink owl as I have bought from them for years now. I am guessing they are more interested in selling toner than the melting tool. I am only posting this so more people buy their ink instead of thinking it is too hard/expensive and just buy a new cartridge. I was able to make a melting tool with my soldering iron (if you already have one) for less than $1. Use a 1/2 copper pipe cap (~$.50) and a small bolt and nut (~$.50). Drill a hole in pipe cap, but the bolt through it tighten the nut to hold the cap, then put the remaining end of the bolt into the soldering iron just like a soldering tip.
this worked for me. They included the tape. I found a circular metal tube and heated it to make my round cut. I'm sure their cutting device is better though. I used some of their tape to cover my "low toner" led light which will now be on forever.

Curious about the quality. I didnt orderd the melting tool aswell so i have to find a way to make a hole in the cartrigde myself. You just heated up some metal tube (wich size?)?
In other video's where they refill the MLT-D111s cartrigde they just
scrape of some plastic from the side and took off the plate. Underneath
is a plug which can be taken off to refill the toner, so maybe i can try that method.
I don't have mlt d11. Print quality is good

Not true for M2020W - it will not print when the toner chip counter reaches 0. Maybe it's the new firmware?

All printer manufactures OUGHT to produce ink & toner cartridge with REFILLABLE HOLE. It would greatly save the environment by reducing waste + saving consumer of unnecessary $$ spending which in turn WILL BOOST their printers sale

Hello, I have a question. Why in other videos they usually take apart the whole cartridge? Your method seems much faster, even with having to pierce through the cartridge. I wonder if I don't replace the chip this method will work on my M2020? Thank you.
Complete disassembly and reassembly is not necessary for DIY refilling. Obviously poking a hole is not pretty, and so it would not be appropriate for a professional refill shop to do to customers' cartridges, but for a home or office refilling their own cartridges, this method is perfectly acceptable.
As for the chip, indeed, on the M2020, the printer never stops printing, so even though the cartridge will always say "empty" and produce the toner empty light, the printer will still work.
So, if I do not reset the counter on my samsung m2020 I can keep printing until all the toner is used up and the prints fade?
That is correct. The M2020 doesn't stop you from printing even after the low toner light comes on.

+Needz I would advise against this. Each printer has different parameters for toner particle size and melting temperature, and it is important to match these. Also, the M2070 uses a lot less powder than the ML-2010, so there is a risk of overfilling. At InkOwl, we use different toner bottles for every toner refill kit we produce.

Please try the following:
- Turn off the printer
- Turn it on. It will show "Replace Toner / Stop".
- Press the right arrow to show "Continue" and then press OK.
You should be able to print after this.

+Sam Sung The diameter is not critical. If you use your soldering iron to carve out a circle to pour in the toner, that will work!
I have a M2070, When i check System Setup > Maintenance > i don't see the "CLR Empty MSG" option..... Where do I find it?
Is your printer currently printing? If yes, then keep on printing until it stops, then the option should appear.
It does not work ... the toner would stop after few pages. reboot printer would work for several pages, then stop. super annoying ! samsung 2070fw

Hm, I dont know if this is a problem but I used universal powder for brother and the result was none. Does anybody know what is the difference between the powders of different producers and if it has any importance?
+Jakub Krejci Indeed, the toners for different printers are distinct and cannot be interchanged. The key differences are the toner particle size and the melting temperature. Using an incorrect toner can cause problems, up to permanently damaging the cartridge and printer. How is your printer working now? Let's decide on your next step!

I just ordered toner to refill my Samsung MLT-D111S. I understand that buying a larger (non spade) drill bit to make a hole will likely cost more than the melting tool. I happen to have many larger drill bits. I would of course drill a pilot hole first. Is there any downfall to doing it with a drill bit? If not, what size would it take? Thanks!
The hole size is 5/8". However, we absolutely cannot recommend this. The reason is that if any little plastic shavings made during drilling remain inside the cartridge, the drum will be damaged with use (little nicks and scratches) resulting in a gradually deteriorating print quality. If you must use an electric drill, do be sure to thoroughly empty the cartridge to eliminate all plastic shavings (and old toner).
Thank you. I heated up a hot pipe with a torch and melted a hole. Worked perfectly. I emptied the little toner that was remaining and put in the new toner that I received from you last week. It prints fine. The only issue that I have is that I do not have a "CLR Empty Msg" option under "Maintenance". I tried to turn off Toner Low messages, but it doesn't work. I still continue to get this message. Is there a way to clear the message? or will it just keep working and Ill have to look at this message for the next 2000 papers that I print (I bought 2 refill bottles from you)? Thanks
The message will always appear, but the printer will allow you to print. Which printer model do you have specifically?

On the M2070, they did, changing the menus a little bit. Don't worry about it though, since it'll always let you print.

+David Vidrman For the M2022w, it really is not necessary. The toner low light will remain on at all times, but the prints will come out, and that's all that counts!

Anyone know a USB Print Server to this M2070 who will be work with printing and scanning ?
I used your toner refill for quite a while with no problems. I printed maybe 200 pages. My Samsung M2070W will no longer print. Samsung is outsmarting us. I get an error message on the printer's LCD screen that says "Replace New Cartridge". I can turn the printer on and off... doesn't work. If I pull the cartridge, I will sometimes be able to get one item in the queue to print. There is a site (ereset.com) that will write custom firmware to eliminate the error messages, but Samsung recently blocked the ability to pull CRUM info in order to have this firmware rewritten. Now, unless I buy a Samsung toner cartridge, I cannot print. Any suggestions? Will replacing a chip on the side make a difference? All this is changing so rapidly. I bet that as soon as we find a way around things, the greedy people at Samsung are trying to figure a new hurdle for us to overcome. Thanks
For reasons yet unknown, a small minority of customers on the M2070 series experience this issue. Where, they have to periodically (sometimes quite often) remove the cartridge and reinstall.
Try the following please:
- Remove the cartridge
- Reinstall
- The printer screen should say something along the lines of "Replace Toner / Stop"
- Press the right arrow to change that to "Continue"
- Press OK

What toner did you use? With this cartridge, as long as a toner for Samsung printers is used, there shouldn't be a problem.

Most Samsung monochrome printers use the same black toner formula. The color printers, on the other hand, use a distinct black formulation.

+fnajafi Different printer models use different toner formulations. It is very important to match the toner melting temperature, particle size, and chemical composition. As such, it's not so much the brand that's important, but verifying that the toner is certified for use in your printer model. Of course, a trusted refill brand will give you more confidence that this is the case.

Can I use plastic tape instead of duct tape?
I wouldn't recommend plastic tape, as it may not be airtight. You really need an airtight seal or toner will definitely leak out out as the printer prints. Duct tape really is best, and is included with every purchase of an InkOwl refill kit!

Mavic Ricafort Our toners are matched to the original in terms of particle size and melting temperature. So, no, not any black toner will do. Look for a reputable supplier that has different products for each printer. Avoid any supplier that sells kits "universal" to many different printers.
