I don’t like how it does the shadows on dark footage.. Losing detail in the shadows.. Seems to darken everything but nothing that can’t be corrected with the color page in Davinci
I am using AVCLabs Video Enhancer AI to colorize black and white videos. The coloring is very natural and brings out rich colors in old videos! Love it very much!
An accidental discovery. I found out you can correct bad color correction and grading by desaturating the footage, essentially making it black and white, then use the colorize feature to return the color to nearly the original so you can re-color correct and grade from scratch.
I bought a month subscription and find it hardly makes any noticeable difference at all. I suspect they are just using AI as a selling catchphrase like HD used to be used in the last 20 years. I've been running some old videos at the highest AI enhancement setting upscaling to 4K and you can't see much of an improvement even looking side by side....and it takes like 20 hrs. for a 40 min. video using my Mac with the M1 chip!

The face enhancement seems great. I tried and used it to sharpen the blurry faces in my old family videos.
Great 👍
