Yes, age does matter. I went thru the same as Demi 10 years ago. I recently remarried a man from my hometown. He's 3 years older than me. Works so much better. I don't hate my ex for leaving for someone younger. I was just stupid to marry a guy so much younger than me.
Hard to believe he's in his forties. He acts clownish but when I saw him on Dragons' Den, I was shocked at how smart he is- he made everybody else look a little behind the times. It's great that he finally gave in to his feelings of "friendship" but he is very sophisticated underneath his facade so it will be interesting to see if he lasts with a just a normal person. I hope he does because that what a sophisticate needs is a lot of fun, casual times and rustic/modern furniture. I just want the couch if they split up.
The work he does rescuing child sex slaves(which should be done by The UN) is worth huge points on the day of judgement. But God says solving poverty is number one, especially safe and adequate housing for women and children. So if he puts part of his money into that, or a shelter for young girls, teenagers and vulnerable women who are often at the mercy of violent alcoholics and sex addicts, that would prevent a lot of abuse. Anyways, he continues to impress me with his acting, philanthropy choices and business skills when I didn't think much of him at all.
