01 was a great year for DCI, and doing these sorts of group performances for the sake of unity between corps and fans is something that would be nice to see again in some form! I aged out 12 years ago and still love revisiting stuff like this that inspired me to go in the first place!
Holy crap! I'm pretty sure they used to sacrifice quality for volume on purpose sometimes. Even if they didn't, whatever they did worked because even though it didn't sound perfect it would knock you out of your shoes. I wish I could hear something like this in person again, even though my hearing would probably get noticeably worse.
They need to do something like this again. Such power and sound!

This was really awesome to find! I was in the age-out bunch in front and the power of everyone playing was otherworldly.

Same reason they have multiple drum majors conducting at once? Can't see jack shit from far away, need to signal boost it
