What a wonderful guide to the process of interviewing for a seeing eye dog. I can't wait to hear about "your" dog, and your first days together. You know how much I love dogs, and I can't wait to hear how this pairing changes your world!
Very informative. Well versed. I have a friend who is in the UK and went through heck and back to acquire a service dog. I am so glad he didn't give up on himself. Also shared this on my people with disabilities broadcast on twitch as AbiliTV.
We have talked a few times and I was wondering if you know if someone who uses a power chair and is legally blind would be denied or have a hard time with getting a guide dog? I'm looking into it as I think it would be very helpful to me.
Hi Sky, I am sure it is not unheard of, but there are dogs that are specially trained to walk next to power and wheel chairs. I am not usre about a guide though, I have only ever heard of mobility assistance. You could definitely call the Seeing Eye and ask, they may be able to point you in the right direction. Other than that, I am afraid I would just Google around. All best though! Hugs.
So exciting, Colleen! Thanks for letting us tag along.

Thank you so much! I think it is so important to understand the commitment, pros, and cons. I miss the UK....loved living there for school.
