Today i had the engine running and pressure washed the engine , omw home on the hwy it went into limp mode . Pulled to a safe place off road turned the car off for 30 min . After that time i turned it back on and it no longer illuminated. It's my only transportation. This video help point me in the right direction. Thank you
Thanks I learned something today. I had seen the wrench warning light in the manual but had no understanding of what it really was. And I can assure everyone that you do not want any amount of raw fuel going through the engine and into the exhaust system. I had an 85 Dodge pickup that quit running while driving. I stopped on the shoulder and tried to start it three times with just short cranks of maybe 10 seconds. On the third crank there was an explosion under the floor. The raw fuel had hit the hot muffler and blown that thing completely open. The result was that not only did I have to replace the inexpensive ignition coil/resistor that is a little ceramic square thing that plugs into an outlet on the firewall, but I also had to replace the muffler and a piece of the exhaust pipe ahead of it.

hello 2011 P7b102,000 miles got a wrench light and P0504 code. Car drives great after I disconnect and reconnect the battery then comes back on about 20 miles or 20 mins of driving then goes into limp mode. I replaced the brake light switch assembly and the cruise control switch. I also removed and cleaned the throttle body and changed the air filter. Car idles great no surging. I checked every fuse and checked for any vacuum leak or frayed wires. Any suggestions besides taking it to the dealer?
I just read the 9 pages of pin point testing “FD” from my service literature for P0504 on a 2011 Crown Victoria Police Model. It says the most likely cause is an open / short, or loose / corroded connector from the switch to the PCM. It walks you through checking for an open, or short from the Brake Pedal Switch to the PCM. If you take it to the dealer this is the diagnosis they will perform. It’s straightforward, and you could do it yourself with a basic multimeter.
