Hey, long time listener, first time commentor to your channel. My names Jay, I'm 23, and I suffer with Asperger's syndrome -- it's a part of the Autistic spectrum, it effects my social abilities, as a result I've always struggled with making friends, though I do have a couple of friends. I don't work due to my condition, and something I used to really enjoy was once a week one of my friends would come visit, and we would play games, watch TV and hangout for the day, it was the highlight of my week. Since CV19 hit, I haven't seen that friend once, and that was in March 2020. I'm autistic and my friend has issues of his own, so neither of us are great at chatting via Playstation chat or text.. we wished one another Merry Christmas this past December, but apart from that.. nothing. I've struggled. Everybody needs some social interaction, otherwise you start overthinking things. You start feeling..lonely and lost, like forgotten. Like the whole wide world is making it's way, and your sat in your room.. watching TH-cam or playing a video game.. alone. It's terrifying. That said, I'm lucky, very lucky. I have a girlfriend who somehow puts up with my shit and whom I live with. She's great. She works 4 days a week and were doing pretty good. On the days she's home life feels good (somewhat), but when she's not home, on the days she's out, working, and I wake up in the morning to an empty house, and being trapped within these walls, things feel, lonely. I know there are likely some people out there in a position where this is their everyday, and to those people I absolutely commend their courage. Because it sucks. Quiet house and nobody to joke around with, nobody to say 'Hey, you okay?' to, with a smile. One of my biggest fears, about CV19, is that of family. It's something that some days I'll be chatting to my parents on Messenger and just feel fed up of not being able to see them, and not have this constant barrier and just missing the days of old.. but then some days, it becomes more than that. I get upset and just want to see my family again, I miss mums cooking and dads stupid jokes.. asking my younger sister how school has been.. petting the family dogs.. the feeling of being in their house, the home I grew up in. Just, gets to me, some days more than others. I used to think my life was perhaps, on the up. Been in a relationship, sustaining the few friendships I had - because quality over quantity, right? Moved out, and getting into healthy habbits and routines.. but then.. you know. Now I just feel like I've driven out into a far away parking lot with my partner to watch the world burn. Watching over everyone, feeling the world move on, and feel like time is just, passing me by.. I ain't getting any younger, and the world with it's opportunities isn't taking anyone new on at the moment. It's quite amazing just how much this pandemic has taught us all about family, and friends. Not taking any of those for granted, and just how much everyone you know means to you. My answer to 'How are you?' used to be fine, but now, honestly, it's I don't know. Thank you for taking the time to read this, who ever you are. Things will get better, I hope. ❤️
