We are basically a businessman family, Joining forces is a very far fetched idea for us. After Agniveer was announced, for the first time in my life, I thought of sending my 11 year old son to forces, when he is 16-17. The idea that this also gives a chance to people like us to serve our nation and later on in life, what superb life my son is going to live, gives me great pleasure. Plus the retired agniveers will be a great asset for 0.5 front in the society

As an ex-Army Officer, Gen Shukla has put forward a well nuanced and objective view of this program. Unfortunately there is a lot of hot headed ill-informed views being thrust out there. Are there problems? Sure, but things can be changed to refine the program and make it better. Jai Hind 🙏
The best thing about Aagniveer scheme is that it will discipline our youth at such an age where they get easily misdirected and manipulated by the evil forces.Apart from providing additional security for our country they will be an asset to the compaies or any job they would be holding even if they leave forces
I have heard Gen. Shukla multiple times in different fora and respect the wisdom he brings to the table (I don't say this lightly). His point on Civil Military fusion is spot on.

Armed Forces recruitment is based on necessity and should not be equated with 'employment'. It is voluntary. It should not be a subject of discussion by civilians.
Lt Gen Raj Shukla's explanation can be understood by someone with basic commonsense and so those who are fuelling opposition do understand it.But they have other ulterior motives to oppose and least of national interest. How to handle this aspect?

Dear General Sir,nice to hear on trg I had written a paper and my AOC in C said you are 20 years ahead of time We are doing too much of trg Why can’t we make our educational institutions do trg what we are doing in our initial trg we make our syllabus and tell them to teach in 9 to 12 classes and select from there and cut down our initial trg and after 3 months of boot trg induct them into op forces and give additional trg to tech trade In Israel I witnessed a class 12 girl Servicing’s a hot F16 engine all by herself with supervisor sitting in one corner of hangar we need to change a lot

GoM recommendations as well as Kargil Review Committee report suggested lateral absorption into Central Armed Police as well as State Police Forces. Today CAPF strength is equal to Army. Why cant those Agniveers who are not retained by absorbed by CAPF and police. The nation saves on training costs, pension costs and trained, disciplined manpower for CAPF and police . Delhi metro alone needs about 10000 CISF.

@@aksingh3167After 4 years they have graduated degree, 30 lakh money,can have better chance in getting jobs in CRPF, Companies. Even if someone don't wanted to join police as they already have many tranning during graduation so they can prepare for competitive exam. Now a days

I agree with the General, that we need to change. This is a great experiment which definitely needs tweaking as and when required. Let us be clear the CONgress will never want development, because as the UPA Defence Minister said, never make road in the border areas so that enemy can use it. Unfortunately some ex service personnel and serving people are unnecessarily creating roadblocks as they don’t want to change. When computers came to banks, do you remember what ruckus they created?

There is absolutely no problem with AV scheme. Problem is the Govt who let Pappu grow up to LOP. More Veterans raising voices mainly from the lobby of the city which influences weaponry purchase. They are insecure of getting chilled bear served, post retirement. with all due respect to veterans with 3 to 4 decades of service. I m ex-uniform with different shades and discharged higher responsibilities at my time. I know many veterans living abroad are propagating against AV. Hope nationalist do not fall victim to the fall's agenda. Jai Hind!!!

Namaskaaram Gen Shukla and Adi!🙏 In my humble view we need to take in trained recruits as Agniveers who have vocational/ ITI style training so that their utility/ training is enhanced. Atleast they should be retained for 7 to 8 years so that they are gainfully utilised and they exit with retention of 50% option! Those exiting will be well equipped! My two sense!🙏 Jai Bharat!🙏

Change is a gradual process. Initial hiccups expected, but not opposition way to demoralize army establishment and that is risky threat to internal peace.
Even some ex-generals are rallying behind opposition in support to discredit Agniveer program. I was visiting TH-cam on Kargil war and found many top military brass of that time never knew the difference between Intrusion and Infiltration. Just blamed intelligence failure which otherwise was poor military insights or leadership that cost many lives of officers and troops....
Can you please invite mr G D Bakshi as well. In rural india , people laugh at agniveers. If you want to save pension, start with MP MLAs and Civil services
China had one rule for every new first year college student that they have one year military train in their respective colleges ,, which is compulsory for each student to attend ,, like wise Bharat is giving u opportunity , pay and insurance money if u are not more for ur family ,, if u are alive u will get education plus money and the discipline in ur life which now new generation don’t have and that will lead to more strong opinionated population,, nobody is looking forward ,, they are reciting the congress words ,,

In case Agniveer is a bad employment for youth, are we short of volunteers. Why is this not being spoken of. As we continue to tweak the scheme, the issue of no dearth of volunteers must be stressed upon. Secondly, personnel KIA should get their dues expeditiously and IA must stress upon it. Lateral absorption needs to be effective and those clearing spl Forces probation must be retained

Very Vague Discussion trying to justify merits of Agniveers. Civil Military Fusion Concept is different for what is being claimed by guest speaker.
Changes in training is different and introduction of technology is different which can be fused but loyalty, dedication and forthrightness will take hit.
