anybody who's seen Alien should instantly recognize Yaphet Kotto when they see him. I think he was a baddy in an older James Bond movie too, but I first saw him in Alien.

Mostly off-topic: my dog is named Findlay, because he was abandoned in a public park in Findlay, Ohio. I was driving through the park, and the dog flagged me down; I opened the car door, and the dog jumped in (thirsty and hungry). I called the local vets and shelters: nobody was looking for this dog. I didn't know that Findlay (the town) also made good beer, I only know it from making good boys.

For Erin: for your reference. Weather in a hot tub or a pool. The bubbles you would see in either one would be from circulatory jets, used for massage and keeping the water circulated and fresh.
Water’s boiling point is 212 degrees Fahrenheit, so if your hot tub is bubbling from heat, it would cook people too..

It's a South African sci fi flick with Cameron as Space Santa, a hero played by Reb Brown, John Phillip Law, South African martial arts star James Ryan, a woman who dies and comes back to life in the very next scene, a rusting industrial factory passing itself off as the interior of a futuristic spaceship (and they don't even bother covering the windows), a group of space witches that are there for....reasons, the silliest transport vehicles you will ever see (and yes there are chase scenes) and special effects shots literally stolen from Battlestar Galactica.
I saw the Rifftrax of that flick in the theater some years ago. They added more nicknames for Reb Brown lol.
I thought I recognize Cmeron Mitchell's wife, Hope Holiday. Just last week I watched Billy Wilder's The Apartment with her. In regards of Jason's comment that she cannot sing she actually started as night club singer and Broadway musicals 😁. She is credited as casting director and producer in Killpoint. IMDb says: In the early 1980s, at the instigation of friend/actor Cameron Mitchell she began associate/executive producing several of his lowbudget exploitation vehicles". I guess they were drinking buddies.

I’m sorry to hear that. Your health isn’t so good, I can totally relate to that. I suffer from liver cirrhosis stage, two and kidney disease both are terminal, but Jason’s channel always makes me feel so much better and keeps me uplifted. I bought this because I was, and remain, a massive Richard Roundtree fan. I didn't expect too much, because this was long after his heyday, but good lord was I unprepared for the massive crapfest I was confronted with. It's a shame to see so many good people go down like this.

I saw Cameron Mitchell in a porn movie called Dixie Ray Hollywood Star in 1983. He was the standout actor as a cop investigating a murder - way better than the titular Dixie or her lesbian friend. John Leslie held his own as the leading man. Many others held it too.

Mitchell himself was not in the porn scenes. He was just there for cinematic credibility. Back then, porn tried to be semi legit.

Branscombe Richmond who played Bobby Sixkiller in Renegade is great he has been in so much stuff, more than you probably realise.
He was even a couple of Night Court episodes where Dan Fielding was on a military mission and people thought he was dead.
He might not be in the biggest project but he consistently gets work.

My opinion of Cameron Mitchell has changed so much because of your reviews. The first thing I saw him in was Space Mutiny and he plays a completely different type of character.

when i was a kid i would see cameron mitchell shopping at puchies market in Nogales ariz. in the late 60's. he was drunk , grumpy and wearing sunglasses all the time , so little had changed over the years, ( he was working on high chaparral at the time)
Stack Pierce is the clear MVP in this one, dude sells being a badass.

As fun as this movie is at times in a bad movie sorta way, watching it makes me sad that talents like Cameron Mitchell and Stack Pierce don't have better material to work with. Could you imagine those guys in a movie directed by say, Michael Mann or some other first rate Hollywood director? They'd be getting Oscar nominations.

If you substitute "ex-con" for "police officer" that blurb at the end sounds EXACTLY like the description of Eye of the Tiger, and even better, it would have made sense with regard to that movie.
His being drunk the entire time is a good excuse for your being the same during your review.

This is the best Cameron Mitchell movie. The sunglasses and ascot rock, and he's a huge psycho with a poodle. Nighthawk is the real star, though. Oh, and the indian dude is Branscombe Richmond, AxCx wrote a song about him.

Once the padded room fight began, I knew I had seen this film. Years ago a coworker got me an action film anthology and this was in it. I was going to suggest this film but couldn't remember the title, and I'm glad you covered it now. One other flick from the set I do recall was Top Cop (with Stephen P. Sides) where the typical loner cop tough guy teams up with a new partner (I kid you not, the new partner is basically Steve Urkel if he joined the force) to take on a crime boss.
Can't watch it now but so excited.

Guys you need to get hold of a movie called SHOOTERS based in Liverpool England. The cast were all non actors and they actually used real doormen / Gangsters who played themselves to show how what the Liverpool underworld was like.
