INDEPENDENCE CUP /TAWANG OPENNING CEREMONY /at high altitude tsayang gyatso ground

  • Tawang ::20/07/2024 :::The independence cup football tournament 2024 has been kicked off this morning at Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Stadium Tawang. A total number of 46 men’s team from the district are participating in the 25 day long tournament which is a record in the history of independence cup tournament in the district. Organised by Tawang District Sports Association (TDSA) and All Tawang District Students’ Union (ATDSU) in collaboration with District Administration Tawang, Indian Army, All Monpa Students Union (AMSU), Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) and Tawang District Football Association (TDFA) the tournament has been declared open by the Abbot of Tawang monastery, His Eminence Shedling Tulku Rinpoche in the presence of shri Jambey Wangdi, Chairman DoKAA, Brigadier V.S Rajput, commander 190 Mtn Brigade Tawang, shri Sang Khandu incharge Deputy Commissioner Tawang, shri Thupten Kalden, Field Director DoKAA, smt Jigmey Choeden, former Secretary DoKAA, shri Rinchin Norbu, Secretary General Monpa Mimang Tsogpa (MMT), Local officers, Public leaders and Audience.
    The inaugural match was played between defending champion D-Club and Prime United and was defeated by D- Club 7-0.
    In his welcome address shri Urgyen Dorjee, Secretary Tawang District Sports Association ( TDSA) thanked shri Pema Khandu, HCM Arunachal Pradesh, shri Tsering Tashi, former MLA Tawang, shri Namgey Tsering, sitting MLA Tawang the then president TDSA, shri Ngawang Sempa, OSD to HCM and District Sports officer Tawang for their sincere effort in making the playground a FIFA standard artificial turf playground facilitating the youths and footballers to show their actual talents.Tawang ::20/07/2024 :::The independence cup football tournament 2024 has been kicked off this morning at Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso High Altitude Stadium Tawang.
