  • Mega Kangaskhan returns to Mega Raid in November for the first time since its release in a year ago.
Mega Kangaskhan is a Normal-type Pokemon, which has only one weakness - Fighting-type. As a raid boss, it has 206 attack and 177 defense stats.
With the lack of weakness (options), Mega Kangaskhan as a raid boss can only be Solo Raided by Fighting-type Pokemon under Cloudy weather. While Mega Rayquaza can reach enough DPS in Windy weather, there is no other option in Windy weather that is fast enough to back up Mega Rayquaza after it has fainted, nor it can earn enough time to afford relobby cost.
Specifically, Mega Blaziken, Terrakion, Shadow Machamp, Keldeo, Lucario, Shadow Hariyama and Shadow Blaziken are the Pokemon that can outrace the timer against Mega Kangaskhan as a Solo Raid in Cloudy weather. As you can see, there is not much choice to Solo Raid Mega Kangaskhan and none of them can be obtained purely by wild catch.
In terms of moveset, Mega Kangaskhan as a raid boss learns Mud-Slap/Low Kick as fast moves and Power-Up Punch/Crunch/Earthquake/Outrage as charged moves. Interestingly, Mega Kangaskhan as a Normal-type Pokemon currently does not learn any moves that match its type. Even with legacy moves considered, Kangaskhan only learns Stomp, which is a rather weak Normal-type charged move, and it still wouldn't learn any Normal-type fast move.
In terms of raid battle, since Mega Kangaskhan has only a single weakness against Fighting-type move, Mega Kangaskhan with Crunch is naturally the most favorable choice to raid against with where most of its viable counters would resist it.
This time Low Kick/Crunch was found for the Solo Raid. Since Crunch is a 3-bar move that is resisted by the entire team, it is usually counterproductive trying to dodge them. Mega Blaziken would be the only one dodging since it has considerably more DPS, while the remaining Pokemon would just tank the moves mostly.
Overall the main difficulty of this Solo Raid lies on team building, due to the heavily limited viable counter list. Fighting-type is filled by Shadow/Legendary while Mega Blaziken (and other Fighting-type Mega) is not potent enough to fight Mega Kangaskhan by themselves. The overall difficulty of this raid would mostly depends on the quality of the Fighting-type team one could assemble. With appropriate team, the raid execution itself is not specifically tricky.
    Team used:
    CP 4760 Mega Blaziken - Lv50+1 15/15/15 Counter/Focus Blast
    CP 3455 Shadow Machamp - Lv50 15/15/15 Counter/Dynamic Punch
    CP 3966 Terrakion - Lv46 15/15/13 Double Kick/Sacred Sword
