Wow, your channel always feels like a high-tech theme park! The Hohem iSteady M7 review is pure gold! I mean, I’m already rocking my Apple Watch with DJI OM 6 and 3, controlling everything like a secret agent from my wrist-so spending more cash on this gadget might be a bit over-the-top. But with your filming skills, seriously, you could hold a potato and I’d still believe it’s the latest premium stabilizer! Thanks for another awesome video!
I'm glad I saw this review, I recently switched from a Sony A7iv/Dji RS Mini to an iPhone 16 Pro Max, I'm still looking for a good gimbal for a phone and this one ticks many boxes
@@tonnyvandermeijde2838like wise, I went with the DJI Osmo mobile and the mobility is atrocious, glad I hadn’t pull the trigger on the previous version of this, as I would have been mad now 😂
Thanks for the video Benett, the new features are great - especially the handheld control. But for me, it’s the extra payload that makes this gimbal worth considering.
This is actually quite innovative and cool. They just need a better attachment than the compression clamps. I tried the V3 and my iPhone 16 Pro using the moment case didn't fit within the clamps securely.
I admit I love Hohem's innovative approach. Not settling to just further develop M6, tgey took things in a different direction. The "controls become the remote" on muktiple models, the styling, materials, a lot of creative flair across the whole line.
Great review. I have just purchased the M7 gimbal and notice there is a 1/4” thread on the phone arm near to the motor. Do you happen to know if this is for attaching accessories, like an SSD drive, for example?
Great review of the Hohem iSteady M7 gimbal... You just gained a new subscriber. I was wondering if you can select object tracking from really far to create awesome hyperlapse while walking towards a building. Something very small like the cross on top of a church. This feature works really well on the Osmo mobile gimbal but I would like a better gimbal with more range like the Hohem M7... Thank you!
Great review Benett! You mentioned that the detachable screen shows the image captured by the AI camera, not the phone's camera. If the phone's camera goes out of focus when using the Black Magic Camera App for example, will this show on the detachable screen? If not will this also be the case when using the Hohem Joy or Native Apple camera apps, which offer varying degrees of focus pull and zoom control via the gimbal's controls?
Thanks for your question! The Remote Controller only shows what the Ai Camera sees and not what your phone sees, so you won‘t be able to see focus shifts nor other focal lengths such as the ultra wide and telephoto. This also applies to using other third-party apps.
@@BenettGraezer Many thanks for clarifying. The remote ai subject tracking is very useful but perhaps Hohem will consider implementing a future bluetooth / wireless module upgrade, so focus control and zoom in third party apps such as Blackmagic Camera App, together with iphone camera screen display can be viewed and controlled via the removable AI display? In the meantime I shall continue to use screen mirroring via my Apple Watch or iPad to monitor focus remotely, when using the M7.
Would you say this is the best new phone gimbal for 2025 as I’m confused as to what one to purchase and this one seems the best from the research I’ve done at the moment ? 😅
I recently purchased a Hohem iSteady 7 gimbal, and it is only three weeks old. I have used it three times so far, but I am now experiencing a problem. The joystick on the remote is not functioning, meaning it does not move the phone up, down, or sideways. Additionally, the trigger on the handle is unresponsive. I have tried basic troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists. Could you please provide assistance or guidance on how to resolve this? If there are any specific steps I should follow, I would be happy to try them. Thank you for your help. I look forward to your response.
what about a place for the samsung external HD for prores shooting, can you still use the USB c port, because that looks blocked by the gimbal motor? And where would it go if you can? thx
Hi, great review Benett! Have you ever tried to film with the phone horizontally attached to this gimbal, when wireless mic receiver attached to it? Or may be mic receiver attached to phone from one side and lens or ND filter on the other? Could the gimbal stand this load and to work correctly and smooth ?
Can I use this with a small rig or newer cage? I have peripherals such as a small rig 4-1 USB C hub that powers my T7 drive and my wireless microphones.
I currently shoot with a standard iPhone 14 and use Moment's T series 18 and 58mm lenses. I'm struggling to find a gimbal that will easily be able to handle the weight of either lens along with my K&F VND filter. Since my phone is lightening instead of USB-C, wondering if this will work given the differences in my phones charging port vs newer phones. Still steep at $300 USD for the gimbal though...
I am sorry for a dumb question. I have never had a gimbal. I do a lot of Livestreaming and not much making videos. I Livestream on TH-cam...can I do it on a gimbal and is it easy to do? I want a gimbal because I get tired of holding the phone in my hand and sometimes I switch hands and it causes instability in the recording. All comments are welcome. Hohem M7 is friendly for someone like me who primarily does Livestreaming - walking mostly Thank You

Great video. I’ve been thinking about buying my 1st gimbal for a while now. Now’s the time
I'm glad you found it helpful, I think you'll love it!
Thank you for the comparison, It’s rare that one videos answers all the questions! 😊
I'm glad it was helpful!
Great review man! That remote is legit.
It definitely makes things a lot easier!
nice review in the snow, I think the remote screen is a good solution because you can now film in any app and track with the remote screen
Thanks!

its perfect! look so much better than dji osmo mobile 6
thanks for the review
Glad you liked the review!
Hi Bennet, do you think it is possible to use the lexar ssd and hub together in the iphone placed in this gimbal?

Can you please recommend to me which extension tripod can be fitted with M7 gimbal?
Thanks

It does!

My pleasure
Is the tracking good enough to track a ball in a soccer match ? If so, it's an instant buy for me ❤
Tried it out and no. Ball is too fast to track.

the new features are great. it is also compatible with the sony xperia 5III and the function keys are not covered

does the zoom function work with the native camera app on IOS18? I've heard that the insta360 flow pro has that capability once ios18 is installed

I didn’t know the Hohem handle even existed! Their website lists two versions. Which one are you using with M7? The model for gimbals with two holes?
Yes I‘m using the one with two holes :)
@ thank you! Love the snow setting choice for the video btw!
what about a place for the samsung external HD for prores shooting, can you still use the USB c port, because that looks blocked by the gimbal motor? And where would it go if you can?

It does work, you‘ll have to shift your phone a bit and adjust the balance :)
@@BenettGraezer Thank you for your replay )
Hello, you haven't shown any vortex 360 degree shot (revolving shot). Can we take a 360 degree shot (video shot) using this gimble?
Yes
What do you see as the best and most comprehensive of everything?
Hohem isteady m7 or zhiyun smooth 5s AI
I‘d prefer the hohem iSteady M7 due to the real-time viewer, makes a lot of things much easier 👍🏻
looking at the design, can it be used with the lexar ssd + hub (lexar professional go) ?
You can use it but it will hide the front screen a bit.
You filmed in the snow. It is water resistant?
Do you know what’s the maximum distance a subject can be away from the gimbal and still will be tracked from the AI sensor?
10 meters.
I assume the handle is also compatible for the M6?
Yes
how well do most of the features still work while in vertical mode though?
Can I use this with a small rig or newer cage?
I have peripherals such as a small rig 4-1 USB C hub that powers my T7 drive and my wireless microphones.
The clamp system doesn’t allow using a cage with this gimbal, but it works with a case.
This time the distance of the tracker is more or the same?
I think the Hohem V3 is more smartphone friendly but this seems like an iSteady V3 Pro and I'm all for it.
The Gimbal God 😆
🤣💯
Which lens you are using?? Reflex?
No i‘ve used the anamorphic from SmallRig
is it support for Samsung galaxy Mobiles.???
Yes 👍🏻
can we mount this gimbal on a tripod?
Yes 👍🏻
nice bro !
Appreciate it!
Possible to use Gimbal + iPhone equiped with a SSD (Lexar SSD Hub, etc.) ? As I have the 256gb version... so I need SSD. Thanks for answers.
Yes, it’s possible to use a gimbal with an iPhone equipped with an SSD, but you’ll need a compact SSD setup such as the Lexar Professional Go.
I currently shoot with a standard iPhone 14 and use Moment's T series 18 and 58mm lenses. If necessary just get a lightning to usbc adapter. I would think this would work.
How does the m7 hold up in winter snowy conditions
Pretty good, battery lasted the whole day

I think for filming oneself the dji osmo is better than the hohem… in all other usecases the hohem is far superior imo
Did u buy the remote or u bought a bundle package
It’s literally part of the gimbal itself. It can’t be bought separately.
Just bought 1 merry Christmas to me
Merry Christmas and have fu!
Is the handgrip m6? Don’t see m7 hand grip..
it‘s also compatible with M7
@@BenettGraezer And the MT2!
Remote aside, how is this any better than the Insta360 Flow Pro? Looking for a comparison review, not a paid ad...
Thanks for your comment! I’ll be creating a video on the best gimbals for 2025 soon-stay tuned!
Small think it's not available in India 😢...
😢😢😢
This supports fast charging; it only takes 3 hours to fully charge! ;-;
These things are heavy.
Compared to dslr it definitely lighter :)
how long does the remote battery last?
