I love when people who are new to Ranma understand the characters so well. The show is a slapstick comedy, Ranma (and some other characters) get pummelled constantly for a joke but it's never framed as serious. I think it's lovely how Ranma and Akane never wanted the engagement in the first place but eneded up falling i love and chosing it for themselves in the end. It doesn't matter how many new people show up, how they might seem like the "better option" on paper or how easy they a relationship with them would have been. In the end Ranma and Akane will always choose each other and I think that's really sweet ❤

Neither Akane nor Ranma chose being engaged to each other, but the story is being written in a way that due to certain events, the two develop feelings for each other. Also, from a story-telling/character-creating point of view, if we have a character that Ranma is jealous of (Ryoga), I guess at some point there'd be a character that Akane would be jealous of too (Shampoo). Ryoga is seemingly nice to Akane (unlike Ranma who often spouts insults against her because he's awkward and not honest with his feelings). Then there's Shampoo, who Akane herself acknowledges being pretty, and acting like a girly-girl, being a doting "girlfriend"---something Akane is not used to doing. So, tl,dr--Ryoga is to Ranma as Shampoo is to Akane; in certain aspects.

I mean i can understand people being more annoyed by akane. Its not like ranma accepted shampoo feelings but he is getting water thrown on him for it he is getting stuff thrown at him by akane for the kiss he did not iniatiate. Ranma may make insulting remarks calling her not cute which honestly isn't crazy considering she is kind of violent. But he isn't really hitting her or being turned different gender against their will. She turned ranma in to a girl just so he could attacked. I think when a characters is being punished for something that isn't directly their fault its gonna annoy you. We all know ranma doesn't like shampoo anyway so if you aren't in the comedy of him getting punished for it its gonna be annoying.

Ranma said "I wish Akane would be that straightfoward with me" when he's thinking about shampoo. But they're teenagers who are engaged because of their parents, plus Ranma is always treat her bad and his actions are inconsistent. When she is worried about him, he says "idiot, you're not cute" . She tries to help him, he says"I'm a man and you're a woman. i don't need your help" . he's always sayin, "you're not cute", "You are too slow to fight with shampo", "who would be jealous of you?" or stuff like that and if we make a top of insults between Ranma and Akane, Ranma's minutes would be much longer and sometimes Akane's violent acts are provocations from Ranma. So why would you act so affectionate with someone who is always saying you're not cute or a plane jane? and the last thing, no matter how many men treats Akane affectionately. She neveeeer fall for them, she always thinks in Ranma!
True but they also have moments where it is clear that they like reach other. Like ranma trying to cheer up akane after her hair was cut for example. They may antagonize each other a lot but it's fairly clear i think that they also like each other.
Ranma's dodging abilities are tied to the plot. If the plot needs him to not dodge something, he won't be able to dodge it, even if he's dodged worse. lol
People are not reading Ranma's body language and not even listening his words " Shampoo is very pretty..I wish Akane was so straightfoward with me" he doesnt like Shampoo! He likes the way she is affectionate, but he wants it from Akane. Ranma was crying for Akane at the end. His eyes were full of tears. Also very important, like Mikado; Shampoo doesnt cares about consent. If she was a man we all could be mad. And everybody will be disgusted, it s not good ignore her behavior cause she is pretty. "He has no faith in her (Akane)" Guys, you seem to forget Akane may be capable of defending herself pretty well but all her previous opponents fought in mostly equal ground: Disabling or knockout. Shampoo is out to kill, no rules apply to her. And Ranma, who can outspeed and outmatch Akane if needed be, spent arguably weeks escaping from Shampoo. And while it's played for laughs, you DO NOT wanna be at the other end of Shampoo's weapon, that's the equivalent of a 44 pound kettlebell... Now imagine getting hit by that point blank to the chest like Ranma's imagining. Ranma fears for Akane's life for good reason.
Akane is a down-to-earth kind of girl. She just has a very bad temper that she can't control. She also has her pride. And the way Ranma and Akane's relationship started, they both are a bit scared to show their feelings.
That's what's so funny about it though - Akane's sweetness /isn't/ hard to get to! She's very kind, openly sweet to everyone... except Ranma. So he gets all sulky like, why can't she be openly sweet with me too, when he is the BIGGEST hypocrite and can't admit he cares about Akane for his LIFE. He calls her a slowpoke and breaks every bone in his body for her inmediately after. She calls him an idiot and immediately after demands he quit bc she's worried. Both of them are insufferable and I love them very much.
lol you guys are missing a couple of things. shampoo is like ryoga, both are meant to push akane and ranma to realize their feelings (akane’s voice actress says she’s a very obtuse girl and shampoo helps her realize she has feelings for ranma) shampoo is meant to be very cute for the audience (more than kodachi, though she’s very crazy too lol you have seen nothing yet) but even if ranma says she is cute (because he has eyes lol akane thinks she’s cute too, she’s the one who keeps saying it in the previous chapter) he’s saying he wants AKANE to be that direct with her feelings for him. but the funny thing is that he doesn’t even like the way shampoo shows her affection, you can see he keeps leaning away from her and doing his rock and roll fingers lol the guy is flutered and scared of her, that’s the whole deal with her character, she’s too intense for ranma and she freaks him out. she’s very feminine, but ranma already told us his preference is short-haired tomboys lol even the “we should get to know each other better” is part of his rejection, I’m sure many women know what I’m talking about (when someone doesn’t understand you’re rejecting them, so you “give in” a little so they’ll let you go lol like a more indirect approach) most of the men in the show are trash, but ranma is one of two guys who really don’t have eyes for anyone except the girl they love (it’s one of the things that makes it better than ryoga lol). ranma never thinks he has options, even if the audience wants to pick a favorite girl. my goat never wavers, he never doubts lol (and you can’t blame akane for not being honest. ranma isn’t either lol you can even see in this episode when he’s super worry but at the end he pretends to not care, he’s always doing things like that, or when he denies being jealous, or when he tells her her smile is cute but then goes to her bedroom to tell her it’s creepy she’s smiling to her mirror lol I would not be telling my feelings to that guy either)
Fans forget Shampoo starts out as a merciless, villain trained to kill. That part of her remains. That shows itself when we meet a certain character What may be the glue that binds them is their common ground - an interest in martial arts that takes precedence over everything else. Also, I think Ranma maybe showing Akane the only kind of love he's familiar with: Genma. He's treating her about like how he has treated his Old Man
Shampoo mostly talks in "Japanese", albeit often very simplistic and ungrammatical Japanese (ie: "Ranma kill", not "Ranma, I'll kill you" like the subtitles claim), with the occasional Chinese thrown in for phrases she doesn't know how to say in Japanese. The subtitles do an incredibly awful job differentiating between when she talks understandable Japanese, when she talks non-understandable Chinese and when she uses some Chinese phrase you already know what means because it got translated earlier. But yes, Akane understood what she said in that scene when they were confronting each other because Shampoo was talking in Japanese there.
As much as akane is a bit unreasonable in her anger ranma is not helping himself at all but its a domb 1980s comedy and it does the comedy really well.

When i was a kid i used to watch this anime , man i love this manga , but from what i see in the comment section , people take this show way too seriously it's just a story about immature high school teenagers and it's not realistic , sometimes completely crazy and that's what makes it funny. Of course if it was in real life some of the things in that show would be wild. The watchers of today are ready to debate like they are living in this manga LOL. I would say it depend on the manga, in the case of Ranma it's not that serious.

Shampoo is a perfect foil to Akane unlike her Shampoo is more bold and takes initiative, she shows more affection but she's cunning selfish and crafty and will play dirty to get what she wants
Akane's anger isn't really unjustified - She always rejects unwanted romantic advances cold-turkey while Ranma continously refuses to do so. First with Kodachi at school (hiding behind Akane, pulling the "I have a fiancée" card instead of clearly expressing his disdain) and now with Shampoo. Not because he likes them, but because he actively avoids confrontation outside of battle, which is the irony and the gag of his whole act. Nabiki, Kasumi AND Genma literally call him out on this in this episode alone - Whenever Akane questions him/his POV or is interactive with another guy (so far Ryoga/P-Chan) he resorts to calling her uncute or stupid. He even does so out of the blue (judging Akane's smile for example). Add to this his grand romantic declarations ("You're cute when you smile", "I prefer short hair on you", "You touch Akane and I'll kill you") and you have the definition of mixed signals. NOT fun. Since we're talking about two 16 year olds whose experiences with the opposite gender are limited and rather unfortunate outside of their relationship, it'd be nice to truly be objective if we're analyzing characters and motives so harshly. The usual approach is very one-sided and unfair to Akane. Especially when certain people bend all laws of logic to defend characters like Shampoo, only to objectify her. Let's all be nicer to the female characters (this last bit doesn't necessarily refer to you, but it's this type of people who usually start these debates)
I seem to recall a confrontation with kuno where akane tried to sic kuno off on to girl type Ranma rather than straight out reject him (cuz the man clearly doesn't listen). Also Ranma said no very clearly the first few times but shampoo line kuno doesn't listen. The forcefulness of his no did get weaker the longer she tried i imagine that's exhaustion. Also akane is considered to be overly violent on universe. Heck even kasumin and tofu call her violent. Though bending over backwards to defend shampoo is crazy. The only potential saint in this show is kasumi. Everyone else has many flaws.
The way Ranma is worried about Akane shows how much he loves her even not aware of it, also as he says he wishes Akane was more straightforward as Shampoo with her feelings. He runs desperately and he doesn't want anyone to hurt Akane in any way. And Akane, I think she knew could not defeat Shampoo, she only needed a reason to release her anger fighting with her.
Ranma 1/2 is one of all time favorites. And if you think Akane is bit too jealous, wait until the Nabiki's episode. Akane practically turns into Super Saiyan 3.

Tfw you realize what Shampoo did with Ryoga what a lot of people, including Genma, have tried to do with him. Ranma has to deal with very questionable men making advances while in his female form but at least none of them tried to outright eat him. That's pretty much why he never rats out Ryoga, even if he outright deserves it for taking advantage of Akane's kindness... oh, and also trying to get Ranma killed.
can I also say how crazy it is that Akane got power creped so fast by the time Ryoga showed up she was outmatched, and then Kuno happened and she hasn't matched up since the skating was her chance but now with Shampoo she's been basically outdone by anyone that can keep up with Ranma himself, I bet the only reason she could beat Tatewaki is because he's distracted by her being a girl
Akane is supposed to be stronger/more fight-capable than your average high-school girl, but since Ranma is the main protag--his power scaling is just gonna have to be OP. I guess them's the rules in being a Shonen Manga Protag.😅 Also, in terms of fighting prowess, yes, Shampoo has an advantage--for reasons we won't learn until the second season (or unless you watch the OG series or read the manga). You mentioned how akane doesn't understand shampoo at the end there: AFAIK shampoo is actually talking japanese here. In this episode she goes from only talking chinese to talking more and more japanese. Most of her dialoge here is japanese except the parts, where nabiki translated it later.

Akane lost consciousness because she was struck in the chest with Shampoo's all-metal chui. Shampoo didn't kill Akane, I believe, because she knew how boy-type Ranma would react. So she took the alternative method
Ranma is way nicer to Ryoga than he deserves even when Ranma is getting shit on and Akane says he's jealous of a pig, he doesn't rat out Ryoga, and unlike Ryoga he doesn't try to splash water on him, where Ryoga did splash water on him so Shampoo would try to kill him Ranma is by far the most level headed person in the show, next to Nabiki

I would highly recommend watching the original (not on stream, I get it lol) and I would even urge you to watch the English Dub. I know, I know… but the English VA’s killed it. While I appreciate this remake (and putting the episodes in the correct order… -_-) because it’s exposing more people to Ranma and sticking much closer to the source material, in my opinion as a long time Ranma fan, the original show had much better comedic timing. They added jokes and gags that they don’t include in the remake, and some of them are greatly missed. All in all the first season of the original is exactly what you’ve seen so far, except they jumped to Shampoo after the Kodachi arc and put off the Golden Pair/Skating arc until season 2. Which was weird.. And there’s bound to be way less filler in the remake going forward, which bogged down the original show (something like the final 3 seasons were basically all filler…)
I laugh my butt off over how much people try to analyze this series. 🤣 There’s not a single character in this show who’s not at least a klutz, an idiot or a fullfledged sociopath. There’s also no overly romantic subplot involved. IT’S AN EPISODIC COMEDY! Weird character enters the fray with either a crush on male Ranma, a crush on female Ranma or a crush on Akane. Then chaos ensues. Chaos gets resolved in a cool fight and/or a big payoff joke. Rinse and repeat with even weirder new character. THE END! Just try to enjoy it. Most gags go over your head while you try to analyze how which character will now react to what new scenario anyway.
You can also let people enjoy how they choose which includes analyzing as that’s how our personalities are. Lol The gag on this channel is that we analyze everything and have a good time doing that
The value we bring is fair use and commentary if you don’t like the overanalyzing you can literally just watch the reaction part and skip the discussion. By the way I’m not bothered it’s just weird to read you telling us to change how we consume media when we enjoy it the way we do

I find it funny how in every Ranma video all the Shampoo fans feel the urge to defend their favorite girl when in reality there’s only crazy girls (and guys for that matter) in this series to begin with. 😂 Or the constant comparisons of power levels. That’s not how this series works. While being busy focusing on these things, many people seem to miss most of the banter and gags, that are so well placed and timed in Ranma. You guys in the comments section need to chill and to realize that this is a 90's comedy. Not everything needs to be taken seriously. The scene with P-chan resurrecting from being undercooked just proved it. Throwing labels like "stalker" at characters from this show doesn't really mean much since all their excentric behaviors are there for comedic value. Of course, Shampoo shouldn't invite herself in other people's bed without consent. But if she didn't, there would be no gag. Stop being triggered over things like this.

Yeah, Akane is a girl where the only way you get any progress is to fully commit to her (even when it's unreasonable) and deal with her worst moments to get to her better monents.

Shampoo is the original "Why don't you just ditch the scripted love interest and be with her instead?" side-character. Even with the whole homicidal part about female Ranma I still feel she is the better fit for him. Though I might be biased there with her being by far my favorite character in the show ^^'.

Even tho Akane is unreasonable for blaming Ranma instead of Shampoo, I think Akane is just jealous, specially since she herself can tell Shampoo is super cute, and Ranma is getting all flustered and having second thoughts in front of his fiancee.

its easy why i like shampoo over akane. akane is an anime tsundere that uses violence regularly to express herself. shampoo is a strong female warrior that uses violence to achieve her goals. they are not the same.
Akane has always been a character that a lot of people hate because if how unreasonable she is toward Ranma. So, I wouldn't be too surprised if Shampoo is above Akane in popularity as a character.

I love when people who are new to Ranma understand the characters so well. The show is a slapstick comedy, Ranma (and some other characters) get pummelled constantly for a joke but it's never framed as serious.
I think it's lovely how Ranma and Akane never wanted the engagement in the first place but eneded up falling i love and chosing it for themselves in the end. It doesn't matter how many new people show up, how they might seem like the "better option" on paper or how easy they a relationship with them would have been. In the end Ranma and Akane will always choose each other and I think that's really sweet ❤

23:23 Agreed. It's Happenstance. Neither Akane nor Ranma chose being engaged to each other, but the story is being written in a way that due to certain events, the two develop feelings for each other.
Also, from a story-telling/character-creating point of view, if we have a character that Ranma is jealous of (Ryoga), I guess at some point there'd be a character that Akane would be jealous of too (Shampoo).
Ryoga is seemingly nice to Akane (unlike Ranma who often spouts insults against her because he's awkward and not honest with his feelings).
Then there's Shampoo, who Akane herself acknowledges being pretty, and acting like a girly-girl, being a doting "girlfriend"---something Akane is not used to doing.
So, tl,dr--Ryoga is to Ranma as Shampoo is to Akane; in certain aspects.
Not just that but Ranma even said something like “I wish Akane was as straight forward as Shampoo”

I mean i can understand people being more annoyed by akane. Its not like ranma accepted shampoo feelings but he is getting water thrown on him for it he is getting stuff thrown at him by akane for the kiss he did not iniatiate.
Ranma may make insulting remarks calling her not cute which honestly isn't crazy considering she is kind of violent. But he isn't really hitting her or being turned different gender against their will.
She turned ranma in to a girl just so he could attacked. I think when a characters is being punished for something that isn't directly their fault its gonna annoy you.
We all know ranma doesn't like shampoo anyway so if you aren't in the comedy of him getting punished for it its gonna be annoying.

But they're teenagers who are engaged because of their parents, plus Ranma is always treat her bad and his actions are inconsistent. When she is worried about him, he says "idiot, you're not cute" . She tries to help him, he says"I'm a man and you're a woman. i don't need your help" . he's always sayin, "you're not cute", "You are too slow to fight with shampo", "who would be jealous of you?" or stuff like that and if we make a top of insults between Ranma and Akane, Ranma's minutes would be much longer and sometimes Akane's violent acts are provocations from Ranma. So why would you act so affectionate with someone who is always saying you're not cute or a plane jane? and the last thing, no matter how many men treats Akane affectionately. She neveeeer fall for them, she always thinks in Ranma!

True but they also have moments where it is clear that they like reach other. Like ranma trying to cheer up akane after her hair was cut for example. They may antagonize each other a lot but it's fairly clear i think that they also like each other.
Ranma's dodging abilities are tied to the plot. If the plot needs him to not dodge something, he won't be able to dodge it, even if he's dodged worse. lol
People are not reading Ranma's body language and not even listening his words " Shampoo is very pretty..I wish Akane was so straightfoward with me" he doesnt like Shampoo! He likes the way she is affectionate, but he wants it from Akane. Ranma was crying for Akane at the end. His eyes were full of tears.
Also very important, like Mikado; Shampoo doesnt cares about consent. If she was a man we all could be mad. And everybody will be disgusted, it s not good ignore her behavior cause she is pretty. If she was a man, we will call her stalker.

Guys, you seem to forget Akane may be capable of defending herself pretty well but all her previous opponents fought in mostly equal ground: Disabling or knockout.
Shampoo is out to kill, no rules apply to her. And Ranma, who can outspeed and outmatch Akane if needed be, spent arguably weeks escaping from Shampoo.
And while it's played for laughs, you DO NOT wanna be at the other end of Shampoo's weapon, that's the equivalent of a 44 pound kettlebell... Now imagine getting hit by that point blank to the chest like Ranma's imagining.

Akane is a down-to-earth kind of girl. She just has a very bad temper that she can't control. She also has her pride. And the way Ranma and Akane's relationship started, they both are a bit scared to show their feelings.
That's what's so funny about it though - Akane's sweetness /isn't/ hard to get to! She's very kind, openly sweet to everyone... except Ranma. So he gets all sulky like, why can't she be openly sweet with me too, when he is the BIGGEST hypocrite and can't admit he cares about Akane for his LIFE. He calls her a slowpoke and breaks every bone in his body for her inmediately after. She calls him an idiot and immediately after demands he quit bc she's worried. Both of them are insufferable and I love them very much.
lol you guys are missing a couple of things. shampoo is like ryoga, both are meant to push akane and ranma to realize their feelings (akane’s voice actress says she’s a very obtuse girl and shampoo helps her realize she has feelings for ranma) shampoo is meant to be very cute for the audience (more than kodachi, though she’s very crazy too lol you have seen nothing yet) but even if ranma says she is cute (because he has eyes lol akane thinks she’s cute too, she’s the one who keeps saying it in the previous chapter) he’s saying he wants AKANE to be that direct with her feelings for him. but the funny thing is that he doesn’t even like the way shampoo shows her affection, you can see he keeps leaning away from her and doing his rock and roll fingers lol the guy is flutered and scared of her, that’s the whole deal with her character, she’s too intense for ranma and she freaks him out. she’s very feminine, but ranma already told us his preference is short-haired tomboys lol even the “we should get to know each other better” is part of his rejection, I’m sure many women know what I’m talking about (when someone doesn’t understand you’re rejecting them, so you “give in” a little so they’ll let you go lol like a more indirect approach) most of the men in the show are trash, but ranma is one of two guys who really don’t have eyes for anyone except the girl they love (it’s one of the things that makes it better than ryoga lol). ranma never thinks he has options, even if the audience wants to pick a favorite girl. my goat never wavers, he never doubts lol (and you can’t blame akane for not being honest. ranma isn’t either lol you can even see in this episode when he’s super worry but at the end he pretends to not care, he’s always doing things like that, or when he denies being jealous, or when he tells her her smile is cute but then goes to her bedroom to tell her it’s creepy she’s smiling to her mirror lol I would not be telling my feelings to that guy either)
RANMA IS GOATED, both character-wise and strength! He just has to mature in time!
Fans forget Shampoo starts out as a merciless, villain trained to kill. That part of her remains. That shows itself when we meet a certain character
What may be the glue that binds them is their common ground - an interest in martial arts that takes precedence over everything else. Also, I think Ranma maybe showing Akane the only kind of love he's familiar with: Genma. He's treating her about like how he has treated his Old Man
Shampoo mostly talks in "Japanese", albeit often very simplistic and ungrammatical Japanese (ie: "Ranma kill", not "Ranma, I'll kill you" like the subtitles claim), with the occasional Chinese thrown in for phrases she doesn't know how to say in Japanese. The subtitles do an incredibly awful job differentiating between when she talks understandable Japanese, when she talks non-understandable Chinese and when she uses some Chinese phrase you already know what means because it got translated earlier.
But yes, Akane understood what she said in that scene when they were confronting each other because Shampoo was talking in Japanese there.
As much as akane is a bit unreasonable in her anger ranma is not helping himself at all but its a domb 1980s comedy and it does the comedy really well.

When i was a kid i used to watch this anime , man i love this manga , but from what i see in the comment section , people take this show way too seriously it's just a story about immature high school teenagers and it's not realistic , sometimes completely crazy and that's what makes it funny. Of course if it was in real life some of the things in that show would be wild. The watchers of today are ready to debate like they are living in this manga LOL. I would say it depend on the manga, in the case of Ranma it's not that serious.

Shampoo is a perfect foil to Akane unlike her Shampoo is more bold and takes initiative, she shows more affection but she's cunning selfish and crafty and will play dirty to get what she wants
Akane's anger isn't really unjustified
- She always rejects unwanted romantic advances cold-turkey while Ranma continously refuses to do so. First with Kodachi at school (hiding behind Akane, pulling the "I have a fiancée" card instead of clearly expressing his disdain) and now with Shampoo. Not because he likes them, but because he actively avoids confrontation outside of battle, which is the irony and the gag of his whole act. Nabiki, Kasumi AND Genma literally call him out on this in this episode alone
- Whenever Akane questions him/his POV or is interactive with another guy (so far Ryoga/P-Chan) he resorts to calling her uncute or stupid. He even does so out of the blue (judging Akane's smile for example). Add to this his grand romantic declarations ("You're cute when you smile", "I prefer short hair on you", "You touch Akane and I'll kill you") and you have the definition of mixed signals. NOT fun.
Since we're talking about two 16 year olds whose experiences with the opposite gender are limited and rather unfortunate outside of their relationship, it'd be nice to truly be objective if we're analyzing characters and motives so harshly. The usual approach is very one-sided and unfair to Akane. Especially when certain people bend all laws of logic to defend characters like Shampoo, only to objectify her. Let's all be nicer to the female characters (this last bit doesn't necessarily refer to you, but it's this type of people who usually start these debates)
I seem to recall a confrontation with kuno where akane tried to sic kuno off on to girl type Ranma rather than straight out reject him (cuz the man clearly doesn't listen). Also Ranma said no very clearly the first few times but shampoo line kuno doesn't listen. The forcefulness of his no did get weaker the longer she tried i imagine that's exhaustion. Also akane is considered to be overly violent on universe. Heck even kasumin and tofu call her violent. Though bending over backwards to defend shampoo is crazy. The only potential saint in this show is kasumi. Everyone else has many flaws.
The way Ranma is worried about Akane shows how much he loves her even not aware of it, also as he says he wishes Akane was more straightforward as Shampoo with her feelings.
He runs desperately and he doesn't want anyone to hurt Akane in any way.
And Akane, I think she knew could not defeat Shampoo, she only needed a reason to release her anger fighting with her.
Ranma 1/2 is one of all time favorites. And if you think Akane is bit too jealous, wait until the Nabiki's episode. Akane practically turns into Super Saiyan 3.

AFAIK shampoo is actually talking japanese here. In this episode she goes from only talking chinese to talking more and more japanese. Most of her dialoge here is japanese except the parts, where nabiki translated it later.

I would highly recommend watching the original (not on stream, I get it lol) and I would even urge you to watch the English Dub. I know, I know… but the English VA’s killed it. While I appreciate this remake (and putting the episodes in the correct order… -_-) because it’s exposing more people to Ranma and sticking much closer to the source material, in my opinion as a long time Ranma fan, the original show had much better comedic timing. They added jokes and gags that they don’t include in the remake, and some of them are greatly missed. All in all the first season of the original is exactly what you’ve seen so far, except they jumped to Shampoo after the Kodachi arc and put off the Golden Pair/Skating arc until season 2. Which was weird.. And there’s bound to be way less filler in the remake going forward, which bogged down the original show (something like the final 3 seasons were basically all filler…)

There’s not a single character in this show who’s not at least a klutz, an idiot or a fullfledged sociopath. There’s also no overly romantic subplot involved.
IT’S AN EPISODIC COMEDY! Weird character enters the fray with either a crush on male Ranma, a crush on female Ranma or a crush on Akane. Then chaos ensues. Chaos gets resolved in a cool fight and/or a big payoff joke. Rinse and repeat with even weirder new character. THE END!
Just try to enjoy it. Most gags go over your head while you try to analyze how which character will now react to what new scenario anyway.
You can also let people enjoy how they choose which includes analyzing as that’s how our personalities are. Lol
The gag on this channel is that we analyze everything and have a good time doing that
The value we bring is fair use and commentary if you don’t like the overanalyzing you can literally just watch the reaction part and skip the discussion.

I find it funny how in every Ranma video all the Shampoo fans feel the urge to defend their favorite girl when in reality there’s only crazy girls (and guys for that matter) in this series to begin with. 😂 Or the constant comparisons of power levels. That’s not how this series works. While being busy focusing on these things, many people seem to miss most of the banter and gags, that are so well placed and timed in Ranma.

You guys in the comments section need to chill and to realize that this is a 90's comedy. Not everything needs to be taken seriously. The scene with P-chan resurrecting from being undercooked just proved it. Throwing labels like "stalker" at characters from this show doesn't really mean much since all their excentric behaviors are there for comedic value. Of course, Shampoo shouldn't invite herself in other people's bed without consent. But if she didn't, there would be no gag. Stop being triggered over things like this.
