This is actually better to confront them for. There are times wherein people just take Photos of you (sometimes without even you noticing) without even asking for your Permission and people usually don't confront that photographer since they don't know if you're friends with that person or not
I don't know the law in China but most Countries have the policy that if you know you are in public view (even in your front yard for example) you are ok with being on video/photos. Only if you're planning on making money from the footage or there's a minor shown do you need permission from the person.
I've seen photos of women being taken and obviously they didn't know about it and commenting about their body figures and their looks. That's very rude.

I was in China a few years ago and this actually happened to me on the street in Shanghai. I’m Caucasian so I turned a few heads when walking down the smaller and more isolated streets. A man approached me with a camera and started to take photos of me without my permission so I told him to stop. My Chinese wasn’t very good at that time so I had trouble communicating, and so I kept on pushing his camera away while telling him that I didn’t want my picture taken. He kept persisting and it was getting really annoying but he stopped after I started walking faster. It was really creepy but I heard that this happens a lot 😔

I've only just realised every time a person comes to the actor's defense they put themselves in front of them, like a shield. And I find that so amazing because if this were to happen in real life and it was a dangerous situation, these strangers are willing to defend a person they don't know to ensure their safety. It just goes to show that there are still some good human beings in the world.
