Imma be honest, this song has dragged me out of my hole i used to be in, this single song threw me to be someone 5 times better then i was before, i used to listen to this song in late night walks around my city watching the lights and cars go through the streets, biggie was amazing in his own right and so was M83 squints_music i wish you made more music like this, a song can change a life or even someone themselves, i thank you for anyone and everyone who has worked on this song. Moving on as an adult i will become someone amazing i will, and because of this song i was able to reliaze what i could do. Thank you from my heart and everyone hearts who have been moved by this song. Update: April 15th 2024. I'm glad my comment has reached so many people, in case all of you are wondering I'm still alive thankfully. it's interesting to see how the world changed in 6 years. when I first wrote this comment I was literally coming out of high school, I put in six long years in the military, going for my sociology degree, and hopefully being an agent of change that can bring peace to the world. The expectations that I set on myself 6 years ago haven't changed, I hope the path that I walk is the same path that the old me who commented on this is expecting me to walk. Greatness is what I strive for and if there's anything I could tell my old self, it's that I hope I'm making him proud. for anyone who still stumbles across this comment know that music, friends and family All can shape who You are, it's a driving force in our development. never fight it. hopefully the next time you all see me I'll be on the cover of a magazine 😄
I'm going to tell you another deep story about biggy and my life. My ex Gf left my ass. She told me I was a mess in the weeks before. That I needed to study more and I was going out too much and hanging with friends too much and needed new ones. Ghosted me. Nothing , no texts, calls. Zero..moved the fuck out didn't tell me, blocked me on everything. I was a fucking mess. I couldn't deal with listening to sad shit I was too fucked up drinking daily but I knew I couldn't hold down college and my job like that. SO...Who did I turn to, not Jesus, not my family. Biggy. I swear to fuck. I listened to these words everyday on that shit train to work and college and back depressed as fuck but with hope in my heart shit would change. I sorted my own mind out. I swore I would not feel sorry for myself again and I would do a biggie. The words " don't chase em replace em" stuck in my mind. In the weeks after, like a man possessed by a demon I went on Tinder and drove myself to find a new girlfriend. I went to college everyday and stopped going out. I swore I wouldn't rest until I found someone better looking, who respected me and would believe in me, got financially stable and was enjoying my life again I found a beautiful Brazilian girl who is now my fiance. ..supported me through all my financial struggles. I went on to do my thesis on online dating behaviour and I'm now a psychologist helping others who went through similar shit. I saw my ex on the street for the first time in two years ago on a certain street in a city in Dublin, Ireland, yesterday ( it's actually why I am listening to this song again). I didn't feel sad, just a little angry how she left without the respect to tell me why or give an explanation. I had a suit on. Holding my new girls hand. She caught my eye on Parnell street as I was crossing the road to O'Connell street. We were right beside her, my gf had no idea, she never saw her before.. but I just looked to my left and looked at Tiff( my ex) smiled and biggie came right into my mind. I didn't know what else to say, it was two years, and I always imagined what I might say if I ever met her in the weeks after it all happened but that line just came out as I looked to my left and she knew I was a big biggie fan and I'd listen to him all the time when we were a thing and I said it...." I don't chase em I replace em" . That is all I said and walked off into the distance to get the same train home I did two years before with a happy heart. As much as I hate admitting it, I enjoyed it. I don't think it hurt her, it was too long after, but it shocked her to see I made it. She always had her doubts but they ended yesterday. She messaged me on whatsapp later that day after 2 years of a block. A simple "hey". I replied a simple "no" and blocked ...And biggie smalls had a weird part to play in all that. Even if it was just words. I think I lived by them. It became my hope and ideology for my future. RIP Biggie
Even though Biggie and I never walked this earth at the same time I'm so glad that he left his music behind.. Thanks for helping me break out of my shell and letting me explore the world of music.. RIP
Epic mashup. I would have loved to see biggie live when he had "sold out seats to hear biggie smalls speak". I can't even imagine what he would want to talk about...
+Hal Cline Yup, I was in 3rd grade or so when Clinton was there and it had an explosion in the basement parking lot. Was all over the news. I remember our teacher talking about it with the class.
Wow, big boy trying to act hard on the internet. Look at you little special snowflake trying to stand out amongst the sheep. If you would read my previous reply up top, I state I was in 3rd grade in 93 and was in school when the bombing happened when Clinton was there. I know good and well what happened, as I am well old enough to have remembered it. I was being sarcastic for all the fucking tinfoil hat wearing plebs out there.
well yeah you got the idiot tinfoil hat plebs out there but what about this upcoming generation where they solely rely on their knowledge via the web instead of doing actual research? kinda feeding to the stupidity of the next generation if ya ask me
This song makes me tear up. My lady and I went through hell and now we're finally ahead. Whoever is reading this, you are enough and you can achieve success. Be blessed🙏
I thought: why isn’t there a remix by Jay z or another iconic rapper on M83’s Midnight City, then i came across this and it definitely, definitely, does the job. Thanks
I mean it's pretty hard to make Biggie sound bad, you could probably back his vocals with just about anything and it's still going to sound half good. This is nice though.
Dam..... I can Remember Party And BullShit back In 1992 - 3 yrs before Ready To Die and back on The BlueFunk Album From Heavy D .... A song Called A Bunch Of NI"*A's track 15 ....
Jonathan Clary Try E-Dubble's Freestyle Fridays, there's about 50 of them and they are all that kind of style. such a fucking shame he passed away recently though.
I used to think miami sound machine and mylo with "dr pressure" is best mashup i ever heard of two aongs, however this has now just joined in in joint first, just fits together amazingly
Got auto-recommended that and when I heard it was like I got hit hard in the Soul and my mind got completely immersed in it. Amazingly cool mix.... hits right in all spots

Matthew Schilling Jr. right on! 🤙🏼
Just found this 😢
Whenever I listen to this I have some type of out-of-body experience. Biggie’s flow complements midnight city so perfectly.
My two favourite tunes mixed. Happy is an understatement.
Even though Biggie and I never walked this earth at the same time I'm so glad that he left his music behind..
Thanks for helping me break out of my shell and letting me explore the world of music.. RIP
Finally. This is the first mashup that brings me the same goosebumps that the original Midnight City gives me
This song gives me hope for the future and appreciation for the NOW
Irish Identitarian don't ever loose that hope...

"underrated. Something or someone that deserves much more respect than people will allow"
Man, does this bring me back! I listened to this before every one of my baseball games before I pitched. Such a perfect mashup!
There was an attack at the WTC in 1993 (truck bomb), he's referring to that
Epic mashup. I would have loved to see biggie live when he had "sold out seats to hear biggie smalls speak". I can't even imagine what he would want to talk about...
He's talking about his concerts lol
Best mashup I have ever heard. Straight in as one of my favourite songs!

4 minutes is a good time to let the fluoride soak into the teeth
Biggie, rapping about World Trade Center blowing up and 50 inch screens before it was cool... All back in 1994, DAAAAYUMN.
Well there were multiple bombings and attempted bombings of the WTC buildings...
+Hal Cline Yup, I was in 3rd grade or so when Clinton was there and it had an explosion in the basement parking lot. Was all over the news. I remember our teacher talking about it with the class.
there was a bombing in 1993 so stop being ignorant now

Almost forgot to listen to this song today...
Just got reminded 😂
Appreciate what you got cause tomorrow it could all be gone
This guy biggie the greatest ever to do it. King of hip hop just about to take over the music of all genres.
i like when you put the beat in the right places. a lot of beatmakers or producers don't even understand that basic concept or can even stay on beat
This is dope.

Precious Island , Cheers my friend!!
Sounds so much better than I thought it would.
I wish there was a genre of rap like this, like electro rap. I'd listen to that and not the crap they call rap today.
I couldn't agree more
So true dude, im always trying to find songs like this.
Jonathan Clary Try E-Dubble's Freestyle Fridays, there's about 50 of them and they are all that kind of style. such a fucking shame he passed away recently though.
