Best one yet. Could have been 3 hours and still have been fascinating, he's photographed so much that wasn't mentioned. What other stories does he have. Get him back!!
Love this man He photographed one of my favourite bands , Slade brilliantly .. I purchased a print of the band from him and we spoke on the phone and he was such a gentleman
The first album I ever bought myself was Slade's Slayed albeit on cassette ( WH Smith's on the Hight Street in Swansea - long gone now, they used to have listening booths too ) . It was so popular in Dynevor School ( all boys at the time ) that we were banned from writing Slade on our fingers like on the cover. We would have to wait until the bus ride home to do that. Slade's glory day music still holds up.
What a wonderfully beautiful and unassuming man, who seemingly has no idea about the world he has been such a part of mythologizing for everyone who ever pored over an album sleeve or music journal of the past 50 odd years. This is the beauty of this channel. I'm so appreciative.
Oh my goodness, I trained at The Central School of Speech and Drama, which is built around the Embassy Theatre, so I've trodden the same boards as Gered's Dad and the members of his company, wonderful to know!
I enjoyed this, please do another with Gered, I would dearly love to hear him talk about Kate Bush, he took many early iconic images of her in her early days!
#iconic Great chat! The Stones exterior shots from High Tide and Green Grass album by Guy Webster were shot at Franklin Canyon park in Los Angeles. I walk through these woods nearly every day.
the original title for the album was "Could You Walk On The Water"? That didn't fly with the record company for the obv reason. Instead, what's remarkable to me is that the revised title has the words High and Grass.
@@noblesavage23 Some subliminal message in there, no doubt! I suspect Mr Oldham's influence. How about Between The Buttons, Sticky Fingers and Get Your Ya-Ya's Out? The Stones fell foul with their record company over the cover for Beggars Banquet too.
The covers of so many classic albums have become iconic, it's not surprising they're imitated. Interesting to ponder how the photographs reflect the music inside. A watershed in both music and imagery was surely the Sgt Pepper LP.
Lads, As alway's these get together's are just to short. Saw an online music reviewer playing an Oasis song who went on to explain how the Beatles had borrowed extensively from Oasis's catalogue of music. My copy Ogden's is so fragile now I'm frightened to touch it. In case it disintergrates in my hand. Remember Marianne performing " As Tears Go By" on Ready Steady Go ? The photo of Marianne Faithfull is just to much I'm going to have to go and liedown in a dark room for the rest of the day to calm my thought's. Cheers, Chris Perry.

A brilliant session/interview. Definitely deserves a part two.

Possibly the best one yet. Superb !
Great photographer, great raconteur. Almost needs a part 2.

Another great WIYA....thanks guys. Great stories..if only there was another hour of it!!

These videos have saved me throughout this whole time. I’m so glad I found this
One of THE best interviews. Thank you so much. Please bring him back for a Part 2 or more.
That was superb. The best WIYE for ages.
What a brilliant interview! Gered's recollections are so vivid.
Excellent. If ever there was a case for a 'part 2', this is it.

So needs a second episode. Great work fellas!
Excellent stuff! Cool as f**. A really good watch!

Wonderful! This time, 40 days until Gered is a guest again!
The Ace Of Spades in the NME card set was Ian Curtis of Joy Division (no Lemmy in the pack).
That’s one flash office to have in your garden. Must have a big garden! 👍
I love you guys! ☀️

Wonder where the slightly bizarre title came from..

I can't work out if the photo behind Gered is Bill Wyman or Dave Gilmour...
fascinating stuff-many thanks!

@David Robinson He didn't Smile.
Heyyy I sent a copy of my new solo LP to Mr Hepworth a few months back. I think I can see it (brown plain sleeve) above his left shoulder!! :)

Great stuff thanks 🥃 x
Great. But surely the only one so far who doesn't appreciate the concept of greatest ALBUM ever made.
Gered was right first time, Oasis were a Beatles and Rolling Stones tribute band. Very entertaining as always.
Nice to hear someone use the word consolidate instead of solidify.
"An all-day session, which was basically 12 till 4." Gentlemen's hours
