Dude, this is so refreshing. I know I am not unique, but this channel feels like it was made for me. Thanks for taking the time to produce these - really great stuff.
No director has a color palette quite like tarantino it’s just so vibrant looks so similar to technicolor in the best way God bless this man and his movies
Yeah that’s a great comment, I hadn’t thought of that. There is also a consistency in the color palette he has in the films in LA like Jackie Brown & Once Upon A Time…
I like how PTA and QT consider each other their film rivals, but have a deep respect for what the other one does. I only know about this thanks to the work of JWBS. Edited brilliantly, as always.
ROBERT FORSTER starred in a movie that became a minor cult film that I wrote called, 'THE BANKER' (1989) ... and he became a mentor and dear friend. Bob passed in 2019 and there's not a day I don't think of him. D.A. (filmmaker)
Probably my favorite Tarantino film, largely because I think it channels his energetic character dialogue through a strong, coherent storyline. Tarantino with guardrails.
I remember there was a time PTA and Tarantino got compared because of the way they make movies and about Jackie Brown, I think this is an underrated movie unlike Joker 2, which could be on a top 10 misunderstood masterpieces.
Phasers On Stun: I love Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. I seen it three times so far. It's that rare film genre of movies about making movies. Of course the granddaddy of them is Fellini's 8 1/2. Quentin's film comes in a no. 2. And a half.
Yup. Wes Anderson's like impasto with this shit, but QT is using the same palette and the same knife, just more subtly. Yes, I appreciate the irony. And PTA does it, too (thinking of _There Will Be Blood_). It takes a "confident on set" disposition, like the say.
I enjoy much of PTA's work and Quentin but PTA has kind of had his head up his own you -know-what since the accolades he received for There Will Be Blood. The Master had its moments but I feel like he has kind of drifted away from quality storytelling in recent years and is trying to get a little too cute with his directing techniques. I did enjoy Phantom Thread but mostly for the music and set design. I feel like his films have been very meandering and odd in recent years. He has mostly been making films without much of a story and where nothing much happens unlike his earlier work. If some of his recent movies had a different directors name on the credits they would have been panned I'm guessing.
I disagree. Tarantino is one of the few Writer Directors that hasn't lost his voice/style like most have. Maintaining a consistency across his portfolio (except for Deathproof). But that's just my opinion.
I feel like bringing some negativity: "The Master" is not worth watching. And it was cringe when PTA said what a great performance Robbie had in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood. She only had to look pretty and could've been replaced by 100 or 1000 others. Let's get real.
@spencerlane415 esp kill bill. Every thing hes made since Jackie Brown has been over the top childish wish fullfillment garbage...he's now so high on his own farts it's pathetic.
I love that the editing makes it sound like PTA is cutting Quentin off and not letting him say a single word the entire time.
It feels surreal because it's usually Quentin talking over everyone else, lol
The way it should be, honestly
😂
"I'm friends with Weinstein and I love fee-"
"The music's pitched just perfectly"
The first part wasn’t talking to Quentin.
Jackie Brown is so good. Most mature and restrained Tarantino film. And the most inviting and rewatchable of his hang out movies
Yep it's not blatantly Tarantino which allows the story to seem more real.
That & Hateful Eight are the only Quentin I really like
@MH-et5sn agreed. It's his one film that dosent feel like it takes place in his universe
@@MH-et5snwell it’s not an original story written by Tarantino. It’s an adaptation.
I actively despise Tarantino, and even I can admit - Jackie Brown is great.

I love the primary colors. The muted blue and yellows today is so ugly
Yeah that’s a great comment, I hadn’t thought of that. There is also a consistency in the color palette he has in the films in LA like Jackie Brown & Once Upon A Time…
At the beginning it looked like PTA was going to say “That is some serious gourmet shit!” XD
I'm so hyped for "The Battle of Baktan Cross"...trailer should be coming soon!
hope so but no proof it is sadly
@@paulelroy6650 It's in post-production. August 8 release date. Safe to say there will be a trailer soon.
Didn’t it get delayed?
@rinedgecombe8165 I think so, at one point, but it's in post-production. They are done shooting, and it has a release date.
Sounds great

Yeah, the Jehovah Witness Bull Shitters are great.

Jackie Brown and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood are my favorite Tarantino films. Not his best films… but my favorites
I'm the opposite, I think they're his best, but not my favorites
I think along with Bastards they are his best
Same. They're the only films he's made that are not about other films, deconstructing genres, bending genre conventions etc. etc.
I love the respect these two have for one another. To fine film makers
Probably my favorite Tarantino film, largely because I think it channels his energetic character dialogue through a strong, coherent storyline. Tarantino with guardrails.
Thanks James Whale!
I disagree with Paul when he says that Robert forced her. I don't think he did.
LOL
"Quentin's a film nerd, too, I suppose...." 🤣
I remember there was a time PTA and Tarantino got compared because of the way they make movies and about Jackie Brown, I think this is an underrated movie unlike Joker 2, which could be on a top 10 misunderstood masterpieces.

These are like snacks. The video is the MSG. Which is the highest form of praise. 🌲🌲🌲

The best special effect is a great actor. -PTA
Django and Once upon a time in Hollywood are my Favorites
Jackie Brown is my Favourite QT movie.
i love jackie brown too pta

👍👍👍
It's not purple. He's exactly right.
I would even put Jackie Brown as one of his top films.
Aero namedrop!
i like these clips a lot but the bill hader ones could go
Very good stuff, but I wanted to hear at least a few responses from Tarantino.
Always respected PTA but he kinda comes across as a fanboy mor0n here
I would rather a director come across as a fanboy for others work than a pompous douche.. shows humility.
thank you for not saying moron. god bless
This just in, artists like art. News at 11.

The Master and Inherent Vice are masterpeices. Phantom Thread was great. havent seen licorice pizza tho
@thedeviator5410 Inherent Vice is a masterpiece? Never heard anyone utter those words before. Glad you enjoyed it though.
@ yes some of us form our own opinions contrary to public opinion. better than TWBB
The Master is the most overrated movie of all time
@ definetly not. won no major awards and is not especially talked about.
His last films are his worst in my opinion.
I disagree. Tarantino is one of the few Writer Directors that hasn't lost his voice/style like most have. Maintaining a consistency across his portfolio (except for Deathproof). But that's just my opinion.
Urgh, bit pretentious all this guff he’s coming out with here🙄
I hope Tarantino makes more than ten films.
I will pray for America.
Please pray for me.
God Bless you.

Hate to admit but I habitually fast forward through the Spahn Ranch scene just to get back to the two leads doing their thing.
The climax works better if you've been through the spahn ranch.
im early hehehe
Jackie brown BORING 😴
It is to you because you’re too stupid to handle anything that isn’t constant action
It's a great movie
That is what I told your mother last night
Too bad everything after that was crap
Noted movie expert @uraigroves7898 is here for their esteemed opinion. "Too bad everything after that was crap."
Kill Bill?

✨️It's all subjective✨️
To me, Basterds is the best script he ever wrote
