@Frozen Music Do you like the snow-work effects in both Frozen movies? (Snow-works are like fireworks, except they are made of snow, plus Elsa generated them using her magical powers, and there is one at the end of the animated credits of each Frozen movie)
I know a lot of people don’t like this song, but I love it so much! When I was younger I didn’t understand what “Let it go” meant, but now I know that she is letting out her emotions that she has help back for so long and finally being herself. So inspiring.
same! when your younger, you dont really understand lyrics, i havent listened to this song for like... 4 years, i remembers singing to it all the time when it first came out.
Right... but letting out her emotions and being herself endangered thousands of lives including her sisters. Her own power and lack of a desire to take personal responsibility for it nearly caused the genocide of the Arendelle people.
I don't care, I still love this song. The lines "It's funny how some distance makes everything seem small. And the fears that once controlled me, can't get to me at all. " "I'm never going back, the past is in the past." And "That perfect girl is gone." "I'm free!" Really stick with me as much as they did then now that I'm out of an abusive home. This song gave me so much hope as a teenager. I understand some people don't like it because it was so over played then. It's ok for them not to like it. But I like it and that's all that matters to me.
You know, I’m actually happy this song became what it is today. It took me a while to understand what it meant, and took me longer to realize how much I resonated with it. If it weren’t overplayed I would’ve mistaken it for another catchy Disney song. As a guy I think a lot of us can relate to bottling up a lot of emotions, and being too self conscious of ourselves and what others may think of how we look/act.
Preach my guy. The lyric “It’s funny how some distance, makes everything seem small. And the fears that once controlled me, can’t get to me at all” was the one that resonated with me the most. Letting go of any emotion is hard, fear especially among a multitude of others, for the exact reason you mentioned, being judged by a very judgmental society
I'm so upset that this movie got so much shit because it was insanely popular and older people wanted to be different. This song actually is such a breath of fresh air and resonates with me in such a deep way. I came from a family where my emotions were constantly suppressed and I grew up in a conservative household while I was bisexual. Now an adult, breaking away from that environment, this song is so much more to me. It's truly freeing and it makes me cry each time I listen to it.
Both singers sing beautifully. When I listen to Demi's version, it makes me think about her past and not the movie. When I listen to this version, it gives me goose bumps because I saw the movie and I understand how the character is feeling. These are two completely different situations! You can't really compare them.
My daughter is such a big fan of Disney movies and right now she is going thorugh her 2nd month at Marines boot camp. Based on her letters to me, this song is perfect for her at this time. I printed out the lyrics, modified a few words and sent to her, hoping this will her remain strong.
Yeah well I was shaped by lesser known Disney movies that actually you know. Were entertaining like Atlantis, Mulan, prince of Egypt, princess and the frog and the 1930s ones.
Me and my sister loved Toy Story 3 growing up and we thought the toys were actually going to die. We held hands as we pretended to accept death but realised when they were saved. It was amazing that when me and my sister pretended to accept death, the whole theatre joined us in holding hands
There is a VERY good reason Ms. Menzel's the better singer: she is a seasoned Broadway actress and was required to belt to the back row at every performance. Her musical chops are world class!
They were meant to sound different. Idina's version sounds more theatrical because it's supposed to be the character capturing all the emotion. Demi's version was recorded to be the pop version for the soundtrack. It's like comparing apples to oranges.
ContinentTurtle With the Demi Lovato version, Disney is obviously trying to appeal to Demi's fans by trying to turn "Let It Go" into a pop song. But even with the different arrangement, it is so not a pop song.

I think it says "Im one with wind and sky" because now that they know, she's free to do anything without limitation. 'Wind' meaning free like the wind to do anything or go anywhere and 'Sky' like nothing can stop her,she can go as high and far as she wishes.

I can relate so much to this song and Elsa as well. I come from a strict, toxic, and manipulative family that thrives for perfection and care so much about reputation more than anything. All my life I felt neglected and shielded from the outside world. I never had a job or worked. I also struggled with my emotions. My mother only wanted perfection and had very high expectations of me. I had to literally conceal and not feel as Elsa has stated. Because I wasn’t allowed to express my sadness and cry, that had caused me to keep everything inside and therefore depression and anger issues took place. I constantly felt like I had be perfect with the way I talk and walk and breathe. I never felt like belonged so I always isolated myself. I moved out last year and I felt exactly how Elsa felt I am away from fear of expectations that controlled me and now I can do what I want and discover who I am without rules or limits. I am learning how to open up and express and to let go of the past. I am still struggling of course, healing is a long process.
In 2020, I finally admitted my emotions to my mother and she knew it was the war all along. Spending more time with Woody has helped hugely. Woody saw me depressed one night and he came alive after seeing that. This was at 2:30am
I love Idina's version! It gives me chills and I just can't stop listening to it! I just feel like she does really connect with the song and I can hear the emotion in it. Great song. :)
When Frozen first came out, I was a hater. I didn’t like the direction the movie was going and the songs annoyed me. This is my second time listening to this song this morning. I’m glad people like me can grow and learn. I no longer hate this song or the movie.
I started my healing journey with mental illness over 14 months ago. This song has never meant more to me ever since. The lyrics mean so much more to me than ever before! Healing is uncomfortable for sure, but so worth it!
I'm gunna trigger a lot of idiots... "Let It Go" from Disney's "Frozen" isn't actually about Elsa or snow. It's actually about dealing with problems in life, like anxiety or depression. The song is telling you to "let go" of your stresses and fears. The main reason it's used in the movie is because -spoiler warning- Elsa is stressed about her powers and about how the other people saw her use them. She then decides to get away from them and then is just like, "You know what? I don't care"! The main reason I like this song is because I have social anxiety, and when I listen to the song, it reminds me that I should be who I am and not care what others think.
Just when I though Disney musicals were dead since the lion king, this song among the rest of the frozen songs gave me more hope and love for this movie more than any Disney movie I’ve seen in the theater. Two thumps way up!
Masterpiece, both lyrically and musically. The last chorus is so damn powerful it always hits me like a truck: the instrumental calms down while the vocals remain strong and loud, piano and strings crescendo, brief but crucial pause right after both the voice and the strings reach their peak, barely noticeable but amazingly played slide on the bass and lastly… BOOM, right on a mighty cymbals crash the whole instrumental is brought back at full power. Absolutely love it. Props to Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, if they’re not gonna be back for Frozen III I’m gonna throw hands.
When this movie came out more than 10 years ago, I figured Indina Menzel's voice was the reason it made me cry. Now, I understand it's that and that I had a lot of shit to let go
When I heard this song for the first time in Winter Dreams at DCA I almost cried because Idinas voice is so powerful and she sang with so much conviction! I can just tell Frozen will be an all time Disney classic from this song!!
Was this first came out when I was a lonely, depressed and confused teenager I remember relating so much to the lyrics, now I'm 20 and realized I'm autistic and it all makes sense now. This song helps encourage me to unmask, and will always mean a lot to me, no matter how cliche it's become.
I’m 20 now too and was 11 back then. This hits different after my beloved Woody went all funny and that’s when I knew he was definitely Woody.EXE after so long. After 4 weeks of his reign, I’ve finally accepted it and joined Woody’s side to defeat Jessie
November 2013: First hearing this song December 2013 to July 2014: Everyone is obsessed with this song and the movie July 2014: Everybody gets tired of this song 2022: Nostalgia hits real hard and everyone appreciates it more
This song has a good message, it's about putting the dark past behind you, and moving forward. Idina's voice is amazing too, it's so powerful and beautiful.
It’s not supposed to be empowering, this is basically her villain song. Why would her abandoning her old life be a good thing in this song but not literally anywhere else in the movie? Where is the logic?
This song is so beautiful! And the scene it goes with is breath taking. When I finally got to see Frozen I was complete blow away! All I could do is stare in utter amazement as pure magic played out before me!
it is AMAZING how many people feel and can APPRECIATE a song in such DIFFERENT ways as ghe years to by .. like s very sing takes in a while new meaning to you as you age.. that goes for ALL song, it seems noticed by many with this one because this sing had SUCH a huge impact in different age groups. Myself was already in my early 30s when frozen and this song were so popular, so for ME it had a significant impact from the first time i heard it in the THEATER with my then 11 year old daughter at the time. I was going through a divorce at that time and I remember how it gave me chills and I started CRYING right there in the theater lol. my daughter thankfully had no clue what I was ACTUALLY tearing up about.. but NOW she hears it and she actually told me the other day she had a totally different understanding of seeing me with tears listening to this song back then vs. thinking about its now. Because for HER the songs meaning has changed so much in the last 6 years. I think back to when I WAS 11 and heard songs and hesr those songs now and think how different the meanings are now. It makes your appreciation for music so long lasting and something that is a forever evolving thing...i am sire in 20 years this song will AGAIN have a totally DIFFERENT meaning to me AND my daughter also.
THIS SONG CAME OUT 10 YEARS AGO? I REMEMBER WHEN EVERY GIRL I KNEW WHEN I WAS 14 WAS SINGING THIS! It honestly feels good to revisit this song once in awhile.
This song really helped me out with me having ptsd and healing from everything I wanted to sing from my heart, not imitate a song using different lyrics, that was in my mind, I guess I truly love this music because I asked God to let me sing something from my heart, I just got done and I'm in my dark room so I could sing more I know this song has been played so much that they might have memes about it idk But I do truly love this song and it's one of the best I ever heard in cartoons 💯✝️
Happy 10th Anniversary to Frozen! I was only 5 when it came out. My cousin and I watched the movie at the theater with my parents. We later brought her home after she slept through the movie (LOL). I later went to my grandparent's old house and celebrated Thanksgiving with her and my dad's side of the family. I miss those days. Please, I beg of you enjoy your childhoods. November 27, 2013-November 27, 2023.
2013 Seeing this, i didnt grow up with it, as i always told myself, i told myself it wasnt part of my childhood.. when it came out i was 12.. now having niece's that love elsa and anna, i can tell u i am not ashamed to say it WAS apart of my childhood, just never acknowledged it..
Damn, it’s been a while since I listened to this song, I used to like really love it as a kid and I still do not so much anymore. For some reason I understood what she meant in this song as a really young kid and it helped me to remember that we’re all not perfect but should also try to fix our mistakes, and we should always be true to our feelings and let some know that you are hurting.
Really your favorite just depends on your favorite genre of music. Idina's is theatrical based, while Demi's is pop. If you're a fan of broadway, Idina's sounds beautiful. To someone not familiar with theatre and Broadway, she can sound like she's just talking. Bt both versions are beautiful.
Film scores of disney films of the golden age 1937-1942 sound grand and powerful especially Fantasia. The Frozen films don't sound great musically and it's sounds like on par with Mamma Mia.
When i was a kid i hated this song because girls were singing it but when i even talked abt disney other boys would either ignore / start to make fun of me. several years later i am finally allowed to listen to this. if yk yk.
i loved this song from the moment i heard it, and i never tried to say i hated it when frozen was at its peak obnoxious height (prob bc i was in my early 20s so i didnt care abt being 'cringe') still love it as much now. this song also holds a more personal meaning for me as a trans man who used to have to suppress who i was. 'that perfect girl is gone' that line there i sang so loud and proudly when i started HRT. i'm not who they wanted. but i'm who i need.
the nostalgia i get from this song and just this movie in general! going back and watching this movie reminds me of being 4 and going to the theater to see this movie for the first time so vividly. i will forever love this song and movie and how happy it made me as a little kid growing up. this movie really did take over the world haha! 😅❤️

I love Idina's version! It gives me chills and I just can't stop listening to it! I just feel like she does really connect with the song and I can hear the emotion in it. Great song. :)
U ht
When Frozen first came out, I was a hater. I didn’t like the direction the movie was going and the songs annoyed me. This is my second time listening to this song this morning. I’m glad people like me can grow and learn. I no longer hate this song or the movie.
Perfect for listening to on a cold, snowy day...🌨❄⛄
Younger kids these days will never understand how iconic this song is along with Elsa's process of making her 'ice castle'.
No one can ever beat Idina in terms of emotions and power.. Well at least for this song. She has good control.
Wonderful song, true and profound lyrics and Idina Menzel is simply astonishing :)
Massimo Passante Have you listened to Defying Gravity yet?
This song is still beautiful as ever
I love this song! It's soo catchy!
Just when I though Disney musicals were dead since the lion king, this song among the rest of the frozen songs gave me more hope and love for this movie more than any Disney movie I’ve seen in the theater. Two thumps way up!
Toy Story beats Disney movies and Toy Story (1995) nailed it. I used to be really scared of it but I’m not anymore; I’m nearly 20 now
That perfect girl is gone. Awesome Song with excellent lyrics
Now, I understand it's that and that I had a lot of shit to let go
Why did it make you cry?
Wait... frozen 1 is 6 YEARS AGO!?
Wait... this comment is 1 YEAR AGO!?
I know right!!!
SHOOKETH
Litterally 7 now
ÛwÛ
damn
I'm like a massive fangirl so I already know
When I heard this song for the first time in Winter Dreams at DCA I almost cried because Idinas voice is so powerful and she sang with so much conviction! I can just tell Frozen will be an all time Disney classic from this song!!
I personally like Idina's version better, its perfect! :)
November 2013: First hearing this song
December 2013 to July 2014: Everyone is obsessed with this song and the movie
July 2014: Everybody gets tired of this song
2022: Nostalgia hits real hard and everyone appreciates it more

This song has a good message, it's about putting the dark past behind you, and moving forward. Idina's voice is amazing too, it's so powerful and beautiful.
It’s not supposed to be empowering, this is basically her villain song. Why would her abandoning her old life be a good thing in this song but not literally anywhere else in the movie? Where is the logic?
Idk why most of guys pretend to hate the movie or this song, I really loved the movie and this song, frozen was full of emotions, btw I'm a guy
i watch it and many other princess movies and I'm 28
The song is awesome but the movie is just okay
same and same
im a girl and i hate all the bits with elsa in the movie and the song isnt that good either. anna and kristoff is where its at
im a girl and i hate all the bits with elsa in the movie and the song isnt that good either. anna and kristoff is where its at
Idina, you're a musical legend
Disney song or not.. this has a deep meaning and it relates to me so much
forgot how good this song actually is
This song is so beautiful!
One of the greatest Disney movie songs of all time. Happy 10th Anniversary to Frozen (2013)!!!
THIS SONG CAME OUT 10 YEARS AGO? I REMEMBER WHEN EVERY GIRL I KNEW WHEN I WAS 14 WAS SINGING THIS!
It honestly feels good to revisit this song once in awhile.
These vocals are exactly why I believe Idina Menzel should voice Lilith in season 2 of Hazbin Hotel
Best modern Disney song I fear..
This song really helped me out with me having ptsd and healing from everything
I wanted to sing from my heart, not imitate a song using different lyrics, that was in my mind, I guess I truly love this music because I asked God to let me sing something from my heart, I just got done and I'm in my dark room so I could sing more
I know this song has been played so much that they might have memes about it idk
But I do truly love this song and it's one of the best I ever heard in cartoons 💯✝️
PTSD from what, being called with the wrong pronoun? Zoomers are truly the generation of weaklings.
I’m always let Woody lock my bedroom so I can hide him being Woody.EXE and it’s never easy. I love you Woody
I don't mind Demi's version but Idina's version you just connect better with emotionally.
2013
Seeing this, i didnt grow up with it, as i always told myself, i told myself it wasnt part of my childhood.. when it came out i was 12.. now having niece's that love elsa and anna, i can tell u i am not ashamed to say it WAS apart of my childhood, just never acknowledged it..
Both versions are amazing, great job to both Demi and Idina! :)
I love both of there voices. I feel so calm and free. I feel like I am with them.
I love both of there voices. It makes me feel so calm and free.
My cousin was obsessed with this movie. Now i see why. The music in this movie is so beautiful. ❤
This song helps me feel like I can finally be who I want to be, instead of being who people expect me to be.
I have the exact feeling when I listen to this song
💚
This has to be the best version, those vocal ranges.
Love both versions and absolutely love the song.
I love this version, as well as Demi's, but in my opinion this version is the better of the two. SO MUCH RAW FEELS :"D
This song is brilliant!
bless up🙌🙌🙌
Ok but Elsa’s voice had such a glow up in frozen 2
Damn, it’s been a while since I listened to this song, I used to like really love it as a kid and I still do not so much anymore. For some reason I understood what she meant in this song as a really young kid and it helped me to remember that we’re all not perfect but should also try to fix our mistakes, and we should always be true to our feelings and let some know that you are hurting.
Letting it go after all these years. Happy 10th anniversary Frozen
How could anyone not love this movie. And to be honest im very impressed with Disney, they found a good way to hid the bad guy this time. :7
Frozen
Really your favorite just depends on your favorite genre of music. Idina's is theatrical based, while Demi's is pop. If you're a fan of broadway, Idina's sounds beautiful. To someone not familiar with theatre and Broadway, she can sound like she's just talking. Bt both versions are beautiful.
I love pop.... And I like the Indinas version better lol. Anyway gosh your comment is from 8 years ago
@@valentine2456 the way i don't remember writing this comment lmao
This is an inspirational song and a half. Beautiful 👏
As a male I love this song
Pitchy? Can people hear? Idina is incredibly talented and this is pure perfection
I really enjoy both versions! A good song sung by two amazing singers! That's all it is!
Yes,1 was a great example to me
Still can't believe that this song was released 8 years ago... :")
And the view count is still counting
Yup, definitely a Disney princess song. It kind of feels like it could've come out of the Disney Renaissance!
Film scores of disney films of the golden age 1937-1942 sound grand and powerful especially Fantasia. The Frozen films don't sound great musically and it's sounds like on par with Mamma Mia.
When i was a kid i hated this song because girls were singing it but when i even talked abt disney other boys would either ignore / start to make fun of me. several years later i am finally allowed to listen to this.
if yk yk.
One of my fave songs ever!
mine too 🎉🎉🎉🎉
i love this song so much! omg!
when i'm upset or angry this song legit helps me!
thanks Disney for making a song like this!
Me too
I LOVE BOTH VERSION AND THIS IS MY FAVORITE MOVIE ALL TIME!!!
i loved this song from the moment i heard it, and i never tried to say i hated it when frozen was at its peak obnoxious height (prob bc i was in my early 20s so i didnt care abt being 'cringe')
still love it as much now.
this song also holds a more personal meaning for me as a trans man who used to have to suppress who i was. 'that perfect girl is gone'
that line there i sang so loud and proudly when i started HRT.
i'm not who they wanted.
but i'm who i need.
I sing this when I cry or I'm happy and let my emotions go into song
the nostalgia i get from this song and just this movie in general! going back and watching this movie reminds me of being 4 and going to the theater to see this movie for the first time so vividly. i will forever love this song and movie and how happy it made me as a little kid growing up. this movie really did take over the world haha! 😅❤️
2:32 and on, Idina really lets it go with her pipes. Dayum.
Youre so right sister!!!
As a 28 year old male, I find this song really powerful.
"We Don't Talk About Bruno" doesn't even come remotely close to this MASTERPIECE!
Both.
Both are good
@@Z3N1TY0 sorry but only the beat is good in that song, that song didnt even have a proper meaning it was not good at all except for the instrumental
@@MoodKentno both are perfection
Getting a madrigal (people singing simultaneously) that good is perfection, let’s not talk about the deeper meanings in the song
I feel like we take this song for granted. That opening piano music is too beautiful. The whole song is.
Love song 💖
I feel like both are good.
Idina's is more Broadway oriented and Demi's is more pop.
They're both different genres and they're both beautiful.
Every time I listen to this song I get the chills! So breathtaking!
For those of you who don't know, Frozen won a Golden globe award for best Animated film.
I went to go see Frozen with my Grandma and older sister in the theater when it came out, and whenever I hear this, I instantly get so many good memories
I was 11 years old and I’m in my last 2 months of being 19. I can’t wait to be 20
NOSTALGIC. I love this movie, man... this song is so fun to listen to.
I remember seeing this in theaters thinking this song is good but what bothered me was how much hyped it got after the fact.
