Wow...I have instant recall of every hill, bump and turn. I must have ridden this coaster a thousand times as a kid. Thanks for the memories! Idora Park was the best!
My first coaster. I was 4 yrs. old and nestled between my mom and dad. 1960 or 61 I think. Loved the experience and never forgot it. Still love roller coasters. By the way, you really nailed it. I know cause Idora Park was my home park. Great job.
I remember this coaster was considered the little sister to the Wildcat but I enjoyed it equally. The trick to the JR was to sit in the LAST car. Those little humps would actually lift you off your seat a bit and I recall the restraint system was just a thin cord with a clip on the end, similar to a dog leash. 😆
I would have ridden the Wildcat a lot more than the Jack Rabbit at Idora Park. The last few years in it's life, the park ran the cars turned around backwards and called it the Back Wabbit.
That "gravel" strip to the right at midpoint was actually a residential street with houses on the other side. How cool that was. We would have KFC chicken in the picnic area to the left of the loading station. I can still see my '79 Cutlass in that parking lot too -
You've asked before, and I do not. I'd need to see some detailed information about them, including layouts and cars. I haven't found enough information to do a very good re-creation. The next coaster I am working on is Cyclone at Puritas Springs in Cleveland. After that will be Million Dollar Coaster at Rocky Glen in Pennsylvania. Not sure what after that.
@@RaptorAlex I have always wanted to see The Cyclone in action at Puritus Springs park. My dad used to take my sister and me to the remains of the coaster around 1960-1962. Were you able to get the plans for the coaster? I have always wanted to see the plans.
@@jimkilbane5180 I only found a model and an old NoLimits 1 video someone made of it. No plans, so I just had to go off old articles and photos and guesstimate stats.
THANK YOU! Wow - that was amazing. I swear I could smell the Idora Park fries with vinegar and the cotton candy! What a wonderful remake of my memories.

That is amazing. It's a shame what happened to the park. I've also made a couple of Wildcat recreations.
Your recreations are terrific!! I’ve ridden most of these and you are spot on!
Thank you! What an amazing experience to have ridden them.

Can you making baby willcat roller coaster please
That's not a bad idea. I've considered that.
This small
Do you have any plans for B. A. Schiff Wild Mouse coaster NoLimits 2 recreation?

Raptor Alex can you do Big Dipper at Chippewa Lake Park instead of B. A. Schiff Wild Mouse?
@@zacharylunsford2 I like that idea. I'll add it to my list. That's a relatively famous coaster that really could use a re-creation in NL2.

How about a recreation of the Geauga Lake Big Dipper.
I've considered it, but I am kind of aiming toward making coasters that have limited or no footage of. I am currently working on Zip at Oaks Park.
Raptor Alex how about the classic 1930s Virginia reel?
@@ldhproductions112 That would be a difficult endeavor. I suppose I could use regular spinning coaster cars and build a trough out of wooden supports.
I second this. I only went to the park once, a year before it closed. But it was an amazing ride, and I rode it at least four times.
1910 actually.
Everything I've seen except for Wikipedia points to a 1914 opening.
@@RaptorAlex An Idora Park documentary from 1991 also states that the ride was built in 1910 as Dip the Dips. It can be found on TH-cam.
