You are so right about asking questions.
It is to cultivate a critical thinking mind.
I am a Jain. Our most basic principles are revealed to the seeker in the form of answers by the Tirthankar.
This dialogue is between Lord Mahavir and his first, direct principal disciple, Ganadhar Gautamswamy

soo true...sir, your philosophy in shiva trilogy really turned my world around. And im sure that your writing on mahabharat would be an eye opener,as it is said that "there is no philosophy or truth beyond it" and all the best for your 'scion of ikshvaku' ,sir. i hope you reach the 'high goal' you have set for yourself through the shiva trilogy through it

The wonderful part of Amish's books are the ability of the reader to connect the happenings in the book with current events and issues. At the same time his language is not pompous and the pace captivating. Love his work and now that I have heard him on you tube really like the human behind the author. Salute!!

    Dear Amish,
In Indian traditional Schools/Gurukula what is referred to as Itihasa is coined as Myth or mythology in some viewpoints. Could you please tell what in your opinion the epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata are?
are they mythical stories? then why are they referred to as itihasa?
or if they traceable History that have actually happened in past? Please could you tell.
    Many Thanks in advance.

MARYADA IS NOT DIGNITY ,IT IS BOUNDARY OR LIMITING SPACE
IN TAMIL USAGE OFCOURSE IT IS 'DIGNITY" AS 'PRAMADAM' IS 'VERY FINE' IN TAMIL WHEREAS THE REAL MEANING IS NEGLIGENCE OR CARELESS-NESS

i simply cannot believe that Amish said 'mythology' @10:49. It is not mythology and it certainly conflicts his own belief. 'Hindu mythology' is just a term imposed by the British decades ago in the syllabi. We seriously need to stop saying mythology and remove it from our vocabulary - reserve it for Greek and Norse.

He once said he can't find any other word in English..... history won't be accepted as it can't be proven. Its a unique problem, the solution is use of Sanskrit Non-translateables of Itihasa and Purana.
