My wish list for future model train tech:
1.) Radio throttles/cabs/controllers with rechargeable batteries that come with a cradle (like cordless phones) that keep the battery charged when in the cradle.
2.) POV - Like model planes have been doing for years, put a micro camera in the loco at the driver's seat position, and put a video screen on the throttle/cab/controller so you can watch your loco run around the layout from inside the loco as you drive it. Quadcopters have been doing this for years, and other model planes have been doing it as well, so the concept is viable.
3.) Attach tension sensors to the couplers on the locomotive and have the decoder adjust the momentum automagically based on the value returned by the sensor.
4.) Automatic double heading. With metal couplers isolated from the chassis, add additional wires to the decoder to connect to both couplers, then have the two decoders in the two locos recognize that they're double-headed due to the electrical connection by the couplers and both decoders send their commands to each other so that both decoders respond to the commands sent to either one.
5.) Passenger car doors that open under control of the locomotive (through a signal passed down through the couplers). I.e., set a CV on the loco, and all the doors on the coaches open.

I know! Would love these to be made in N scale! Kato though currently makes an N scale Metra and Virgina Railway set which are both awesome.

West of Port Reading Jct. (Manville) the Lehigh Line is controlled by NS. East of PRJ it is controlled by Conrail (Shared Assets Operations).

How about some more MBTA passenger cars?
The Bombardier CTC-1B cab cars(1600 series), trailers 200, 300, and 600 series), and the 500/1500 MBB cars?

Atlas, I have already preordered your 2nd Multilevel series. These seem to be selling VERY well. It has been widely agreed on that Atlas would do VERY well producing: Comet II (original and rebuild), Comet V, Comet IIB, GP40PH, GP40FH, PL42AC's. There are many commuter modelers than a lot of manufacturers realized. Keep up the fantastic work!

I model Metra, so the F40PHM-2s and stainless steel coaches and cab cars would be very useful for me.

I have the WHOLE series ordered and I am not even from NJ, just that NJT equipment is so interesting. A few of us are hoping Comet II rebuilds/Comet V cab cars/and other NJT equipment follow this!!!

When modeling the Bergen County, Main Line, and Pascack Valley line make sure when running single deckers to have an MTA marked car in the mix.
