    Nice additions there, many nice kits especially the Japanese ones. I also enjoyed watching the UT Models Opel, not a common sight nowadays. Well done.

      Thanks for the comment and watching, Glen. I am excited to open it up in an up coming kit review and see all that it has. It was fun watching Paul Turley build his in stages. I’m excited to see how it builds for me. I was told this is the 80’s rerelease as it is not a blue box art. Either way it is cool!

    Great haul! I have a Jo-Han Turbine that was given to me years ago. I don't know the history of it but I've put off building it since because I couldn't find the proper color and didn't have an airbrush back in the day. I have the book by Steve Lehto on the history of the car (which has a forward by Jat Leno) for when I get around to building it.

    • @MileHighScaleModeler
      @MileHighScaleModeler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are looking for a specific color match, definitely check out Jameston at Scale Finishes. I haven’t had a custom color that I needed that he wasn’t able to match to a T. I hope you are able to build it one day and I will have to look up that book and read it. I’ve watch many historical version on TH-cam and documentaries about this car and how many regular middle class individuals were given these to try by Chrysler and give feedback.

      Thanks, James! I will probably do a in-depth comparison video the kits with the same body styles. I always enjoy seeing if the only difference are the decals or if there were any retooling or change in parts. Thanks for watching!

    Patone is the color system used in printing. It's odd to give that as a reference as it's a pointless basis to match paint to unless your gonna cover it in silk screen printer ink...

    • @MileHighScaleModeler
      @MileHighScaleModeler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m actually not sure what you are talking about. I don’t even know what Pantone is. If anything I was referring to scanning the decals to my computer, doing some photo shop editing to fix the decals and edit out the yellowing, then print the decals on decal paper that is found at hobby shops. Not sure where you heard me state ‘Pantone’ in this video. Thanks for watching though.

    • @niteowl7710
      @niteowl7710 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MileHighScaleModeler At 16:23 when you're talking about the color chart in the UT Models Opel it has the paint colors in Patone, and you said "Never heard of Patone". Like I said Patone Colors (and those codes listed) are used in printing based on the RGB and CYMK color wheels. That's why it's a silly reference for paint colors, you can match things close to Pantone colors, but liquids obviously don't conform to Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black system a printer would use.

    • @MileHighScaleModeler
      @MileHighScaleModeler  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@niteowl7710 ah I see. I had to reference back the video as I didn’t remember saying Pantone, but I did! Thanks for the info as I do find that silly now that UT Models would reference that.

    Great stash adds buying from Oz or the states is out of the question for us to Canadians shipping and the exchange would kills us

    • @MileHighScaleModeler
      @MileHighScaleModeler  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hell John, yes I have heard about that from many of the modelers in the North. It’s a shame a kit costs $20-40 to ship on top of customs charges as well. Sad that this occurs. I do sell and buy some stuff from modelers in some of the groups I am in from the North. They typically buy from me in the bulk or I buy from them in the bulk to make it worth it. I see a lot of guys in the North that are less than 25 miles from the border, they will have a PO Box at a US post office so they don’t have to pay those additional charges and relatively expensive shipping prices.

    You got the same taste as me regarding 80's 90's imsa, ot T/A racers, built them and planning on building the again. Check my channel so you can see them, Great channel man, love your work. Like to see young builder like your self doing it in this high tech, lazy era. We are getting old quick and thought that the hobby would die with us but people like you gives us hope.
