It's not only about the hp with the barra, people forget to mention the torque figures these engines make, thats what makes them feel so unique, absolute torque monsters.

I agree I have a standard bf six speed manual I was on a passing lane on Napier/Taupo rd a 2020 twin turbo V8 jeep going up hill couldn't pass me I was quite impressed with the Barra but hate the speed tickets
That’s crazy power. The FG F6s couldn’t put it down with 310 kw. $700 tune and you have 310kw at the wheels. Most would be more than happy with that power output on these… but you do get used to it and then you need more…

@@JP-ry9ob I didn’t quite get there… I wrapped it around a pole at 310rwkw. Some of us should stick to all wheel drive cars.
Even 500kw is scary for somebody who isn't used to lots of power (including me lol)... I wonder if anybody has done an AWD Barra Falcon? There is a build on TH-cam and that seems to grip really well, but I'm surprised more people don't do this (but there's also the Territory)...

a b series wagon in vic has this conversion done, won a roll racing event at calder park, tuned by maxx performance makes a lot of kw from memory
Yep sure has been AWD conversions done. Costly due to modifications needed to the trans to support a transfer case, but in high horsepower applications, very very effective.
I wonder how well those factory E locker diffs would handle some big power? Like the ones found in those BA and BF RTV utes.

yes someone has made a AWD g6eT using parts from a territory im pretty sure it’s 0-100 is like 2-3 seconds it’s insane

500rwkw with the stock ZF is impressive. My one started melting down at 400rwkw. It can also do with the amount of torque tuned into it too. It'd always slip from second to third, When I put it on e-85 at 460rwkw it said goodbye in a spectacular way lol. Maybe I got the one built on a friday arvo.
My one blew at 366rwkw
Now I have a built ZF and it’s nothing special, if I had my way again I’d go TH400 and never look back

i think hes only been able to save the box because of the "Cheap Rubber" just spins rather than griping and breaking lol
@@RossReviewsauI couldn’t agree more Ross , I made the mistake of putting brand new tyres on my car than go to powercruise , the car gripped and BOOM ! Bye bye ZF
A stock ZF should be able to handle up to 850Nm; thats the word from one of the best Ford tuners in Oz. They start having problems from that point espec with sticky rubber. Does depend on how hard you are on it.

I have a bone stock mk2 fg fpv f6, not lowered, no muffler deleted nothing haha. Hard to not mod it but have not bit the bullet on it
Got a 6sp manual ba2 in the garage that's stock...
I have complete original g6et mk1 in my garage and the hardest bit is keeping it that way

I reckon the rear needs be lower to be more safer and it'll just shoot off I reckon, cause a lower centre off gravity is better

Also, include drive train, as cheap as it is to get big hp from a barra, drivetrain is the weak spot.

Doing a barra build at the moment after roll racing many falcons at my local track. The car I raced against them was small and light 4cyl with 265kW and it would keep up with 500kW Falcons no problems. When I raced Falcon with, say 900hp, my car would initially gap them until I was reeled in 100 metres later. It's from this experience I decided to build a 500kW barra motor for its superior response but put it into a much lighter vehicle. 1250kg to be exact. This should offer the best of both worlds.

Madness! It would be even better if you can put it in the back of the car to get weight over the rear wheels. The G8 series WRX would be closer to the 1250kg. I had a type RA that was factory set up for group B rally that was even lighter than that. The Falcon chassis are also not the best, so it will be interesting to see how the engine performs in something else.

Gyon's one should be able to run a mid to low 10 second pass. The 1000hp Ute I would will high 9's all day
Traction will be the biggest factor at that horsepower point, suspension and tyre setup will be important else once traction is lost, all those killerwasps go straight to the atmosphere.
I’ve seen dumped into the weeds and tuned barras on cheap tyres pull slower times down the quarter than they were at factory power and factory suspension height/tyres, because no room to squat on the line.
In gear acceleration on these things is insane though. 🎉

The difference between a 500hp, 700hp and 1000+hp Barra is maxing out a stock turbo, maxing out a $2500 turbo and spinning a $4500 turbo in its efficiency for starters lol

@@jonwilliam1441 Just had a quick search and I can't tell if there's a difference between them. Phantom seems to bring up BAs and BFs. Searching for Viper brings up FGs. Makes me think they changed the name for the FG maybe?
@@LockieNZthe colour is viper for fgs, its slightly different in person its more of a metalic and abit lighter of a purple
