Hey Boylei, I was just camping and there was a hydroelectric dam down a short path. It was in horrible condition and should probably not be used anymore. I got a bunch of pictures and think it would make an interesting diorama and the broken nature could help with something interesting like a monster, which could be hidden in a giant hole in the dam. If you like this idea and want the pictures, just tell me where to send them!
Honestly I think so many people overlook the beauty of a project like this. It can 'open the door' for beginners. It's a great inspiration piece to show what can be done without a lot of complexity, or expense, or special tools, but still end up with a unique and fun model or diorama. Even though some people may pass this by, looking for the latest and greatest model build, there is no doubt that this will spark inspiration and creativity in someone. And it came out pretty good! Though being a home renovator, I would probably lay the kitchen out a little different. 😉 Good work!
Using the doll furniture is great to see. I've been trying to get an idea out of my head and using it will make it easier and faster. I have armies to paint afterall.
Hey man! I just want to say that watching your channel, along with a few others, has motivated me to start trying out painting miniatures and work my way up to building my own dioramas. I've been working at it for a few weeks now and it's so much more enjoyable than I thought it would be. So, thank you for introducing me to a brand new hobby!
I love this! I've always wanted a secret weapons room! It's great to see how you don't have to build everything from scratch to create an awesome piece. Love your work Boylei I'm already excited for the next one.
What a cool video. But I admit it gave me the Kingsman vibes. With the dark paneling and lighter inserts. But it's fun seeing the Star Wars weapons. Be fun to see a Wild west interior diorama.
I never know what kind of project you are going to show us when I get up on Sunday Morning, Boylei. The only thing I do know is that I will be most impressed, whatever you show us! Though your Wild Imaginary West is my favorite subject on your channel; the quirky surprises like this Secret Room are always a treat! Thanks for sharing this with us! As an aside, have you ever considered making a miniature, hidden room scene built into the walls of your home . . . ? My Like is in the 1.3Ks
The level of talent displayed in these videos is simply outstanding. I don't know why I'm always shocked and impressed, but after all of these videos you still manage to impress me. Well done sir.
the bright 8 lights on the window made me think they could be getting abducted🫡 now i want to see you do a alien theme diorama. like a farm house with a crop feild being tormented by aliens?
Also, since you said you'd watched some videos of hidden gun lockers, I thought you might enjoy this excerpt from The Courtship of Princess Leia: Han shook his head. "Believe me," Han said, "I’m not happy about it either, but it was bound to happen sometime." He turned the corner, went to his bunk and angrily pulled up a mattress, exposing a hidden weapons locker that Leia had never seen. It held a nasty assortment of laser rifles, blasters, old-fashioned slug throwers-even a portable laser cannon. All the weapons were highly illegal, especially in the New Republic. Han reached under one of the rifles, pushed a button, and the bottom of the compartment rose, revealing a second hidden compartment filled with an odd assortment of grenades in various styles. Han grabbed a very small, but very deadly brand: a Talesian thermal detonator powerful enough to destroy a large building. It fit nicely in his palm.
It's still an amazing looking diorama. I made my first diorama just a couple of months ago. It was a mystery gift to a colleague for Teacher's Day and I got the inspiration from her demands. She wanted, jokingly, an air con, a washing machine and a pair of new shoes. It was actually a personal challenge because I wanted to get back to model making and I never built , or rather completed, a diorama before. I spent 2 days 3D printing and sanding the main items. And I used a whole day building the wall and floor section with ice cream sticks and painting everything. I nearly gave up when the white paint didn't paint correctly via airbrush but I powered through and finished around 1 a.m..
Gotta love a Schrödinger-inspired diorama - how do you know if the weapons cache is not afraid of the dark if you don’t know whether the light is on or off without opening the door??? This is how Sundays should be spent …
Ok two things: 1. for the weapon display idea you could have just done a classic sci fi setting which no doubt would have been super cool but the fact that you came up with this original and funny idea of a Star Wars fan's apartment instead is INCREDIBLE and I love it! 2. the 4th wall breaking dialogue of the blasters is top tier😂😂❤
nive idea..you also could do a variant, front of your wood box is the kitchen with secret door, and the back of it there is the hidden room, which can fully be seen trough a plexiglas from behind.
Id love to see something about the stegasourus skeleton the was dug up in colarado recently, it was the biggest and most compete one of its kind. Keep uo the good work!
You should do a scene from one of the Silent Hill games, the lighting on the window reminded me of either SH3's or SH Homecoming's otherworld, that would be cool :)
Imagine a thief breaking into your apartment, and you run into the kitchen. They laugh, thinking what can you do getting a knife when they have guns....then you come out with a frozen pudding pop in your mouth, and a functional freaking Light Saber in your hands 😂
Thanks it's awesome... one small thing that could have taken it a extra inch or a mile... different color lights maybe a white blue cool color I side the door and the old timey Yellow in the kitchen with all that furniture...
Have you ever watched "Serenity" and "Firefly"? The show reminds me of your "Imaginary West" projects. That would be an excellent topic for your creative skills.
Thanks for the shout out! Hope you all check out the Boylei episode on August 2nd!
Can’t wait to listen to the podcast
Landlord: "This kitchen looks smaller"
Tenant: "No idea what you are talking about"
"Nothing to see here. Move along."
My landlord also has a strict “No Cosplay” policy. Great build Boylei!

Leave it to Mr. Boylei to post when I was having a crappy day and cheer me up with a tiny secret Star Wars weapon room. Thanks man ❤
Don’t let grievous see this. He might try and take those sabers for his collection. Awesome build boylei!

Love the world atlas in the kitchen. Really important to look up stuff during cooking

Mmm, the Kingsmen look. Good choice.
What a wonderfully quirky idea. Always in awe of your sophisticated electrical set ups.
What a cool video. But I admit it gave me the Kingsman vibes. With the dark paneling and lighter inserts. But it's fun seeing the Star Wars weapons. Be fun to see a Wild west interior diorama.
Nice job
When I saw the figures I thought it was going to be like Vader had a side job selling weapons.
🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼Another great build! Glad my work reminded you to get back to it! Love a good hidden room!
That is one really cool diorama. Very well done Sir.
Great 1:12 action here!

very different from the usual content, i like it
Cool idea
Please do more projects like this
Closest I have ever been to being the first person to see the video. That's my goal every week. Your videos are incredible.
the bright 8 lights on the window made me think they could be getting abducted🫡 now i want to see you do a alien theme diorama. like a farm house with a crop feild being tormented by aliens?
Very creative, and ingeniously made. I've subscribed to David Miniatures as well- all things in miniature fascinate me...
Love the funky music for the final shots. Makes it feel like a set out of some strange surrealist film!
5:44 Fridge Physics 👌, love the build!

Almost to 1,000,000 subs! Hope you have something awesome planned
3:14 the hobby mat changes
This is awesome, would love to see a much bigger hidden weapon room
The men in black 2 weapons room scene would’ve been perfect!
Truly a ~Build Royale~ ✨
Boylei drops a video. Time for Calm Relaxation. 🥰
I have a place just like that at my camp! Great build......maybe striped wall paper would hide the door lines better?
Love it!

I always love a Boylei Hobby Time build!!! Awesome! 😊
Very cool I love it
Seriously fun, dude.
A very fun project. Now we need another TH-camr to make a life size version of this kitchen! 😀
Sounds like a job for Nerd Forge
Gotta love a Schrödinger-inspired diorama - how do you know if the weapons cache is not afraid of the dark if you don’t know whether the light is on or off without opening the door??? This is how Sundays should be spent …
That was pretty cool and interesting, I could see someone actually doing that now after your build, very cool!!!
👍👍👍
Fun little diorama, sir. It is always good to see your Sunday morning post.
I love this! I now need to make a hidden room in one of my builds.
Quick tip you can frost clear parts with mat spray paint.
That was fun, thank you!

Outstanding idea I love it well done.
This is definitely what the apartment of a Jedi or Stormtrooper would look like. Great work!
OMG! The detail is awesome. Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day Sir!
Lovely Work👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🎉
Din and Grogu's kitchen after settling down! 😄
Awesome bro great job
Very nice idea and very nice build.
Next time a box with the same idea,
only in the theme of the Wild Imaginary West?
Asking for a friend😂
Nice one. 👍👍👍
nive idea..you also could do a variant, front of your wood box is the kitchen with secret door, and the back of it there is the hidden room, which can fully be seen trough a plexiglas from behind.

Nicely done. I don't have a landlord but my wife has a no cosplay rule in our house.😞
Really cute build :D
Fun!!! I love the secret cosplay weapons room!
Love this teeny secret room , nice work 👍😉
You forgot the noisy cricket!
Looks like something out of a MIB movie.
Amazing just Amazing
You should do a scene from one of the Silent Hill games, the lighting on the window reminded me of either SH3's or SH Homecoming's otherworld, that would be cool :)
Love the video as always.
We're finally able to see inside Dinn Djarin's home.
You cutting the door out of the wallpaper reminded me of that one scene from Coraline
Have you ever watched "Serenity" and "Firefly"? The show reminds me of your "Imaginary West" projects. That would be an excellent topic for your creative skills.
Once again 🔥😮 ❤This is amazing.... like love the videos so much inspiration and creativity 👏
Ingenious! 🎉
I LOVE IT!
This is the way!
So wonderful!!
Would you ever do one of those bookshelf streets? But one where we could build your design, like a @boyleihobbytime tutorial?
Interesting, I was half expecting you to go the route of that scene in Men In Black 2 where they retrieve some sci-fi weapons from K's old apartment.
Love your work, sir.
I love your talent❤️
Now you just have to disguised this box in a electric box or cover it with a painting. Secret room in a secret room in a room!
Can we have more builds like this please?
That apartment is perfect for a
.
.
.
block party.
Cool job dude 👍
You should do an interior wild west house with a monster peeking in from the door or window.
Thought to myself, huh i havent watched boylei in a while.
*uploaded 1 minute ago*
It was meant to be.
Great video. I love all your tips and tricks. I am gonna subscribe to the david miniatures chap
thats so rad
Just when I am watching Arietty with my kids.
Great video
It would be cool to see the kitchen with no lights on, only being illuminated by the open weapon room door
It's an Efficiency with contingencies.
I think it needed galvanized square steel and an eco friendly wood veneer tbh
Cockatrice stampede for the wild imaginary west? Maybe with the old dude?
XD I laughed so hard at the talking weapons and appliances
Every house down here in Texas has one of these.
No black 4.0? I feel incomplete lol. Killer build
