    • @anjanachaurasia7210
      @anjanachaurasia7210 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      No because N would shift electron density more than what oxygen would do to carbon also the carbon would be partially stabilised by inductive effect hence nitrogen has more tendency to donate electron to carbon cation of benzene rather than of c=o

      Cash Money delta positive due to doubly bonded oxygen atom

    • @deuteriumtritium9700
      @deuteriumtritium9700 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Cash Money double bond => sp2 hybridization.
      Single bond => sp3 hybridization.
      Greater s-character => greater electronegativty. Thus double (or triple) bond C atom more electronegative than single bond C atom.

    Sir While discussing +M effect u said that lone pair of oxygen from OH will go in the Benzene ring by Resonance but in -M effect u said that O of NO2 will take electrons due to electronegativity.......
    So why electrons are going away to carbon in the first case considering the fact that O is more electronegative than C ??

    • @harsh32178

      @indrajitbhowmik981 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any Time Padhai Academy
      But I think sir, that resonance also depends on electronegativity...
      In case of , benzaldehyde , the electron from the pi bonds between -CHO group are shifted or transferred to the oxygen atom because oxygen is more electronegative than carbon.
      Rather due to this C=O is much more stable than C=C.

  • @tiwaribrothers6435
    @tiwaribrothers6435 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    and whenever, O has double bond with an atom of less electronegativity, it withdraws the electron from the bond pair…,
    hence it will show -M effect, as in benzaldehyde …

    Sir pls tell why we haven't considered the repulsion of lone pair of O and pi bond in cooh as dominating.(at 5:07).
    In that case it would be showing +M effect.

    • @peterpace3379
      @peterpace3379 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Since O is more electronegative than C, it will pull the pair of pie electrons towards itself despite the presence of lone pair.
