      It was good information on China. Can’t help but realize that China is keeping it’s people poor so that it can have predatory export policies. The CCP needs to allow their currency to raise, and allowing the world to sell more into China. This would make Chinese richer, and allow trade balances to make sense. Stop trying to take over every market like EVs.

    6:09 - Tesla (Musk) said cyber truck would be around $40K- its avg $85k … 3 years for fully autonomous cab no way! They can’t even roll out fully autonomous on current model cars! 😅

    • @TrendyStone
      @TrendyStone หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      To be fair, inflation is up 25% since 2020. And Tesla always ramps with the most expensive trim option. Cyber truck prices will drop as they scale…but obviously not to $40k. Musk is always overly optimistic.
      My coworker just paid $90k for his F-150 w/ all the options. Cyber Truck might be ugly…and I’d be embarrassed to own one…but it’s an interesting experiment and the technology is unique. I like companies that take calculated risks. The metal exoskeleton alone is groundbreaking not to mention the 48V architecture which will migrate to their other models over time. 48V is just one example of Tesla not being afraid to do things differently…and better.

    I have spent over a decade advising large corporates on China after also working for the Federal Trade Commission for the Australian Government. My observation is that most foreign businesses outside of Luxury Goods & Commodities, and temporarily industry that China wants to learn (see the collapse recently of the foreign car makers who mistakenly taught China to make cars, especially Tesla) lose money trying to establish in China. I was at an Alibaba event around a decade ago with them launching an office in Australia. I did an informal survey of the suppliers and hopeful supplier in the event and with the exception of 3 commodity businesses (at that time mostly dairy suppliers) all other companies were losing money in China on the hope it would turn around and become a cash cow. That never happened. China sells itself to the world very well and it has been a huge trap. Leading to my next point.

    I think Alice Han's analysis missed a major point: if China launches war to reclaim Taiwan, it's not a crazy dictator's wild and insane idea that is not widely supported by the populous. She seem to suggest that most Chinese are either against or indifferent about Taiwan and Xi is the only person who's obsessed about it, and want to use it to build his legacy. Her smooth and eloquent persuasion just made this point more dangerous. Her notion is false. Taiwan situation strongly resembles that of the circumstances before American-Mexican war between 1846 and 1848. Basically Mexico refused to recognize the independence of Texas. But Mexico left Texas along and let its legal status in a "ambiguous" state. US on the other hand is eger to annex Texas to make it a legal state rather than a de facto state. Mexico basically had its hand force upon them - that if Texas remain lone star state, Mexico won't declear war, but if Texas is permanently changed its legal state, Mexico has no choice, despite that it knows it has no chance to win, to declear war on America. We all know the desasterous outcome that Mexico had endured. I think the Chinese political class is fully aware a history between the 1840s and 1950s to make the same mistakes (Chinese calls it "The century of humiliation). Today, it's very similar. China and the US made a compromise and created a "one-china policy" to define status quo - that Taiwan is a de facto state but not a real country. If this status quo is remained, nothing will happen. What China sees is that Taiwan, with certain forcse in the US that egg them on, is increasingly daring to push the envelop and change its status quo. From China's perspective, it has no choice but to prepare for the inevitable breakdown of the status quo. I think some people in the west understand this clearly, but they purposely lead the public to think that it is Xi who's crazy and obsessed with Taiwan. Perhaps it's a political view that force China to attack (kinda like to force Mexico to declear war) will be America's only hope to militarily defeat China and beat it back to the stone age. I don't know who's actually crazy and obsessed here.

    Tesla's Robo taxi; to realise value, Full Self Driving (FSD) will have to be finished meaning no drivers required in the vehicle when under way on public roads. This is one of the reasons why the Tesla CEO pushed the delivery out to 2026+ Tesla is struggling with the last few % of getting FSD to reach this goal. Tesla may also have to reintroduce LiDAR (radar) to get there so it works in all-weather/road conditions etc. I do hope Tesla finishes FSD, it would be one fantastic achievement.

    I think you guys have a bias against Tesla. The stock after the event dropped because investors wanted a $25k car…but that’s not what the event was about. Robo-taxi isn’t so crazy if you consider driverless autonomy beginning with round-trips between a hotel and airport. Then you scale. I’ve been playing with FSD on my wife’s model Y and it’s good enough that I rarely have to intervene. I can drive an hour and not intervene once. Not doubt Musk is putting all his chips on this…but I think it’s possible.

    It's amazing that you manage to say these things about Tesla even though I know you know better. Your point about the failure of the event is clear and correct, but not seeing the opportunity in the bot and in the robotaxi is just beneath your intellect, there's no way people with your level of success can't see the impact of this tech... Of course news of this tech will cause -/+10-20% of stock price, that's completely reasonable given the impact. It's much more impactful in terms of value if the robotaxi comes out in 2025 or 2027, it's worth at least as much as Ford's total market cap, even as a speculation. As a certainty it's worth a lot more

    Elon is one of the few dreamers with resources to make it come true. He has a great track record of willing his ideas into existence.
