- Here we go with Eric's Soldano-laden, Journeyman era. This one was recorded with Vox wah but I'm sure he used Crybaby back then. I hope you like the sound and if you want the tab, email me at: kamil.stachowski@hotmail.com
Been waiting 8 years for this album lol
Now the wait is over, hope you like it!
Amazing!!!! I’m so happy you’re going through Journeyman!! One of his best.
Thanks Elayna!
YES FINALLY!!!! BEEN WAITING ON YOU TO GET TO THIS FOR YEARS!
Hope you like it!
One of my favorite Clapton tune !
Same here!
@@ColinStachowski What preset you're using to emulate the SLO-100?
Amazing. This album is his best. Can’t wait for the rest, especially No Alibis
Thanks Matthew!
Me too😊
Brilhant play!
Your guitar have mid boost? Eric clapton kit?
I'm so happy that I'm alive to see you finally start journeyman! Great job 👌👌👌
Me too!
One of Claptons best, i still have the cassette tape
Cool!
Fantastic. Once again you display impeccable rigor in interpretation. Perfect!!!
Thanks a lot I was wondering whether you are going to like it!
@@ColinStachowski I liked it a lot. In fact, I think the tone and phrasing are identical to the original recording. In particular, it's one of Clapton's best tracks on this album. He still has it on his live set list.
Thanks again!
My God, how I've waited for this moment 👏👏👏 you killed it as always Colin
Thanks Rita!
Hello Colin! We are waiting for another song !!
Thanks!
Great tone and vibrato!
Thanks John!
I've been waiting for a long time!!
Here you go!
GOOD JOB, WELL DONE.
@@MrCarlos1335 Thanks!
Very nice. The sound is rare and tough to achieve. This is one of the few, and probably the best. I'm very pleased to watch someone recreate the subtle support and beauty of this song. It is not showcased even in Clapton's videos. But the original studio recording, which I think you have reproduced pretty darn good, has a true beauty in that guitar part.
Thanks a lot for this insightful comment. Glad you like it!
O man!!! Thank you!!! I was waiting for this for such so long!! Thank you!!
Thanks!
Here you go, Colin!! I have been waiting for the Journeyman album so long!!!! My favorite Slowhand studio album by far and you are a real ambassador of his style of playing! I can't wait to lister No Alibis and my all-time favorite Old Love!!
Thanks Marco for those kind words!
Geez dude. Unbelievable. Great work!
Absolutely brilliant 👏
Thanks!
Man, probably my favorite Clapton song (certainly Journeyman album) and really cool to see and hear this. So well done.
Thanks!
Great tone as always
Thanks Andrew!
AWESOME
Thanks!
Excellent!!! Greetings from Argentina!
Thanks Dardo!
amazing cover bro nice style
Thanks a lot!
So good !!
Thanks!
I totally love this song and your cover, Colin! This is such a heavy song that it makes you feel stronger & more confident(?) somehow, as a guitarist/singer. How I wish you'd have played the four chords like EC does! But I agree that the lead work had to be the main focus here.
Also, I'm super happy to tell you that I've learned to play the _Clapton chord_ with just my pinky now! Thank you for encouraging me to stick with it since it paid off beautifully. I still have the screenshot of the picture you shared of the way you play it. Haha!
Powerfull and cool song indeed! cheers!
One of my favourites! Chorus and wah, instant classic effects!
great job Colin!
Thanks a lo!
Great as ever!
Thanks Berk!
so damn good man, i’ve been waiting for this one!!!!
Thanks Jon!
Awesome work on a most awesome tune. 👍👍
Thanks a lot!
Kamil, my brother I am not going to pretend I like this guitar playing but I dig it man!!!
AKA: stkbkr1
Loved it! Great job 👏
Glad you like it!
I've watched most, if not all of your EC covers. You always do it very well. More power to you!
Wow! Thanks Jose!
I actually love Eric's "Soldano-era" tone! Another parallel he had with his long-time admirer Edward van Halen, who started using the amp at almost the same time...such a pity they never got together for a project or even a jam! 😞
Me too! Soldano gave him a great platform for powerfull playing again!
Very great. Is that an actual Clapton signature strat or a kind of replica?
Fantastic playing man. Tremendous song .
Thanks a lot!
Best on the album.
Indeed, cheers!
Whatever happened my friend Colin?
I’m back!
Great tone. Always thought it was a neck pickup tone but you nailed it!
Thanks Gene!
Fantastic, Colin. I really enjoyed that cover, big thanks!
Thanks!
Eric would approve. excellent job sir
Seriously amazing , well done 👏
Thanks Steve!
Colin, your job is amazing. You're a great guitarist.
Greetings from Brazil !!
Thanks a lot! Greetings from Poland!
❤Love it - absolutely nailed as always my friend :-)
Cheers Martin!
Great cover as always from a great album. When I listen with eyes closed can’t tell it’s not Clapton. Looking forward to next video.
Thanks Kelvin!
great to hear you again since you have your wah out could you please do one of bad love you taught me mainline florida, willy andthe hand jive and get ready I and everybody would love it ! thanks keep up the great work
Hi Daniel, will do. I go song by song, album by album. Cheers!
@@ColinStachowski thanks for a quick response I cant wait will be watchin
Dear Colin, this is awesome :) God bless you, man. Thank you!
Thanks a lot!
I remember listening that record as an LP in my Room and this song was a big banger. I like the Vox Wah more than the Dunlop Cry Baby but I prefer the Ibanez Wah. I got the same Wah😃 And you did a freaking good job with the cover😱🔥
Cool! Thanks!
You are the best I’ve ever seen cover this. Bravo. Amazing talent.
Thanks a lot!
love it!
Wszystkie wykonania na tym kanale są perfekcyjne 👏
Dziękuję!
You find the god´s tone!!!!!! Awesome
Thanks!
Awesome playing🤘one of my favs from Clapton. I’m actually trying to learn this song
Thanks!
So that mean that we will have an No Alibis cover very soon? Anyway great rendition man, loved it.
yes, he does every album, in order, song by song. i’m excited !!!!
That’s correct!
You should cover the songs that were released on the 40th anniversary boxset of Layla, would love to see “One More Chance” and the Dominos version of “Mean Old Frisco”
Maybe one day...
I’ll be praying
Nice playing brother!
Thanks!
❤️❤️
I would love the tab! emailing now. Thanks
Cheers!
🔥🙌🏼
I love your work be the way. I was just curious how you get your tone to sound exactly like the recording. Are you using a modeler or an amp?
I'm using Amplitube software.
Great cover! As always, I admire how greatly you nail Eric's tone! I saw you installed Lace Gold sensors into your "Blackie"...do you also use an active Mid-Boost circuit? Thank you!
Thanks a lot! No active boost, just a stock electronics with Lace Sensors.
Are you going to do cover on ”cocaine live in santa monica 1978” i think no one has replicated those solos
No, I’m not planning on going back to 70s era at this point.
Colin I am curious is this strat a Clapton one or one you had put Clapton boost in it and circuit board?
Hey! Actually none of the above. It’s just a standard, Mexico-made Classic Series 50s Strat with Lace Sesnor Golds installed. Cheers!
Great work! How you get this tone? Amp, pedal?
Amp setting and pedal arrangement please?🤔 thankyou
I'm using Soldano amps in Amplitube 4. No pedal except Vox wah.
@@ColinStachowskimaybe you should give a go to the Soldano by Neural DSP. Sounds out of this world!
What is your set up?
Good job!
Nice cover!!! What model strat is that? Looks and sounds cool
Classic '50s.
can't wait for the hard times cover or before you accuse me 🫡🫡
I will cover 'Before You...' but no 'Hard Times' as it was played on 335 and I don't have such guitar (yet).
What effect to get that modulation effect. Is it a uni vibe?
Vox wah wah pedal. But any wah will do. Cheers!
@@ColinStachowski Eric used a Vox wah-wah pedal in this album and during the supporting world tour which took place betwen 1989 and 1991 (except the orchestra nights at the Royal Albert Hall). He alternates regularly between the two pedals since 1994.
@@johnconstantinides Not sure about that. I think it was Dunlop Crybaby.
@@ColinStachowski Having watched the footage from the National Stadium concert on September 29th, 1990 and was able to identify the wah-wah pedal: it was indeed a Vox. The switch to the Dunlop Crybaby began in late 1993/early 1994.
🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👌👌👌👌👌👌👌👌
what amp and microphone do u use?
None. I use Amplitube. Cheers!
What amp and pedals do you use?
None, all is straight from Amplitube.
Is that the vox 847 model?
Yes.
@ColinStachowski ahh cool. Thanks for the reply.
Hi Colin any chance you can cover "smile " ? Clapton's 1974 version
Sorry, I don’t take request and I’m too far now to go back to his 70s era.
Really I forgot sorry
